Indiana got in the football playoffs because of it's Big10 privilege

That just isn't the case, SEC office made the SEC schedule not the committee. Big made their the big schedule. SEC took care of Texas, and let the rest of the conference fend for themselves. Bama is out because they were blown out by OU, OM is out because they lost to UF. Carolina is out because of a blown call against LSU and the only one of the 3 with a real gripe about being left out.

Teams lose because the schedule is insane. Think bama or Georgia loses a game vs the smu, asu, or iu schedule?

The committee favored unworthy teams solely to keep out the sec. No objective person thought smu was better than bama or ole miss.

Ole Miss, Alabama, South Carolina Texas A&M would have steamrolled Indiana. IU went through that overrated conference of theirs with only 1 loss & just like in college basketball. The selection committees can't wait to put as many Big10 teams in the tournament as possible. Year in & year out the basketball selection committee puts more Big10 teams in over any other conference & every year those teams fall flat on their faces. And now it's going to be the same way with football. The Big10 is the most overrated thing in sports.
The ACC was worse.
SMU and Clemson both gone.
Who would have guessed. Two teams from that shithole conference was beyond stupid.

Dude did not pull any punches in that article.

You can’t have a tournament and leave out an 11 win P2 team.

That sets a precedent to allow committee to just pick the same big brands we have seen exhaustively over the years.

It sends message that conference doesn’t matter.

The issue is conference scheduling. Now more than ever so many programs can change for the better or worse overnight. Last spring IUs schedule looked tough. Two teams that played in the title game…both were average this year.

We saw the flip side. SC got tough, Vandy improved, Florida found an all world QB and RB.

I don’t know how you account for that.

5-10+ years ago in this type of situation with expanded playoffs and SOS arguments I’d have said conferences need to even out schedule. It was easier to know/project what teams would be for about 3-4 year cycles. Allow for flex scheduling and come off of the “3 repeat/rival games” infatuation.

Can’t do that now. Miss St could catch a break in the portal and win 7-8 games next year…tougher team could have an Oklahoma season and hurt someone’s SOS and playoff resume.
