Am I the only person who thinks this coachx11 is full of it? I don't think he is a coach at all. 1. He gives us "info" that is his opinion based on every recruiting guru opinion. Bamba to UK, knox to duke, or fsu, quickley is sold on UK but it's not 100%. He has no sources, I could type up his bs post he makes.
2. He made a message saying goodbye, because his new coach wouldn't let him post. If you value your job, and respect the person you are coaching under, you just leave, you don't announce it, you just go do your job.

I think (and my opinion is just that) that Kentucky will score more by committee, than be dominated by one primary scorer. I also think Kentucky will have one of the best transition games next year and teams will have to force you into a half court game to keep it close.

Click on his name and read his posts going back a year. He is now a assistant coach at a college. He has connections. He often hears the same thing as @ralphdaltonfan
I don't understand why UK fans never want to hear people with connections information. I guess because if it ain't what they want to hear they get mad and point their fingers in their ears and babble. I can't call it. Sources on this board have nearly dried up and the criticism is a good bet why. Just take note on what is passed and move on. If they are right, great and yea they will be wrong some too. But we should always be welcome to information. Coach and Ralph both have good information.
I don't know If he's a coach or not, but I've been around long enough to know he's missing too much to actually take his opinion as valuable. That's not a personal attack, it's just my opinion on his record. Maybe there's instances I've missed, but from what I remember, I can't recall a shocking prediction. The Bamba stuff was way off too IIRC.

It's impossible to distinguish bs from legit so I take it all lightly and everyone else should. Unfortunately for U.K. Fans, Maggard was the man with solid info. Terrible personality and pos, but he legitimately had the stuff. I don't see a single insider who works with multiple staffs, handlers, and people at Kentucky in that way anymore. Most of what we get now is one sided recruiting info out of U.K., which is almost meaningless (KSR). 24/7 buying out several reputable sites for recruiting info has killed it too. Memphis roar And Brooks Hansen used to have really solid info until the move. Even the shiver had decent info until they sold out.
Needless to say all of those things resulted in solid information essentially drying up. The Kevin Knox recruitment is a great example. I'd bet a million if that's recruitment had happened in 2007 no one would have been surprised.

Cal and his staff are more watertight than the whitehouse when it comes to leaks. Cal is disciplined to hold his cards close to his vest and doesn't toss too many bones for public consumption. There are no insiders that are willing to violate his trust. I'm OK with it.
I just find it hard to understand what the end game would be if Coach or RDF were pretending. It's not like they post here daily to soak up adoration and praise. They show up, answer people's questions to the best of their ability, share what they hear, and that's it.
Neither has ever come across as making it about them. They don't pat themselves on the back. They don't troll or stir up trouble. They say they don't know when they don't know. They don't charge anyone a dime. What's the motivation? A dozen pretend internet likes? To keep up a meaningless charade for almost two years?
Besides, Rafters never forgets. Certain folks here still can't post without "predictions" they've made being thrown in their face. The curtain gets pulled back if you're a fraud. For the amount of info and discussion they've given us, if they were making things up or looking to get our hopes up and troll, etc., they'd have been uncovered.
Maybe the reason they "post what the experts say" is because it's true and that's what they're hearing. But I've also seen much more detail and explanation than we get just from looking at a recruit's crystal ball or latest twitter buzz. There's actual narrative there, and it's believable.

The truth is there are 3 sources to get information about these kids, family/handlers, current coaches (high school and AAU), and college staffs. Our staff doesn't talk much, so there is little information on that end, current coaches generally slant the information toward what they want, and family/handlers are trying to keep certain people happy. The best sources are those that have some connection to all 3, but those are rare. When reading information, it is important to note which of the 3 the information is coming from. I don't believe recruiting is as fluent as some tend to believe, I just think the information is hard to sort through for experts and novices alike.

Since you have knowledge of this could you share? I must have missed it.....I have only read every post for like 10 years, so I could have missed it.
Not saying I think CoachX11 is fake, but there was a blog post a few years ago about which fans were most gullible. So there's that possibility I suppose.
I have a hard time finding a reason to worry about with recruiting with Cal as UK's coach. I doubt i will start looking for a reason with this recruiting class to worry about. Barrett is a talented player and will get a pitch from the best basketball programs in the country. When it's time to sign, the kid will decide which is the best for his future. Nothing has changed with Cal and Kentucky. Cal has a bunch of kids drafted year after year while Kentucky wins a bunch of basketball games and are in the mix to win national titles. When Barrett decides to sign with a school, with Cal still UK's head coach, i like Kentucky's chances of landing the kid as good as any other school/coach. Things still look good with Zion, who is also in that small group of elite talents entering college basketball next season. Quickley is a kid that i still think decides on Cal and Kentucky once it's all said and done, no matter if the kid got a lil offended during the process. These kids don't have to decide when we would like them to as fans. They will figure things out on their time and not ours. At the end of the day, if you have dreams to play in the NBA, what has changed with Cal at Kentucky lately? Nothing. Cal and Kentucky still means a lot of kids in the NBA. No matter the negative recruiting by many, it will still mean something when it's time for all these kids to sign somewhere.
