Even more pressure, on the players and coaches
I will put a twist on this one. I sort of wish instead, we had lost in the semi-finals to Duke, and that Lilly white team had become known as the racist school and not UK.
I was at this game and got really disappointed at not winning. Strange but true, later on Issel and Gilmore became teammates with the KY Colonels in the old ABA, Wish that team could have got to a FF for Issel, Pratt and Casey and the rest. Great mems VHskidmore
Pretty clear who the obnoxious one is here. Actually, the 84 team was fairly grossly underrated. Georgetown, which was loaded with talent needed a freakishly cold shooting streak in the second half to put them down. The same team also put down Houston which had Hakeem and a few others. If I were to flip one game, it would be that one.Just because that’s your choice does not make it the “obvious answer.” Your wording there yet again displays the obnoxiousness that’s made you notorious on this board.
And 84 would not be my choice. Frankly, I think that team gets a bit overrated in our lore. They started out looking incredible, but increasingly struggled as the season went along. Truthfully, they were damn lucky to escape Illinois in the Elite 8 on our own Rupp Arena home floor, and then completely collapsed the next game against Georgetown. I’d flip 75, 97, 2015 and perhaps others before 84.
I shed a few tears as well, at 15 years old1992, Duke. I was 17 years old and I'm man enough to say I sat on the floor of my bedroom and cried like a baby.
Not 2014, but he was in our Final Games of 2005 (E8 Double OT vs Michigan State) and 2011 (Final Four 1 point loss vs. UCon). Both also had controversies.Am I wrong, or wasn’t he the ref in 14 too?
This is the answer.Easy. Arizona, 1997!!!!! Three in a row!!!! You can now close this thread. 🖐😎🔥
Has to be a title game. Any other answer is wrongHas to be one of the title games....
1a. 1966
1b. 1975
1c. 1997
1d. 2014
2. 1992 UK-Duke
3. 2015
Really????! Over a basketball game ?? Crying is only appropriate in two cases:1992, Duke. I was 17 years old and I'm man enough to say I sat on the floor of my bedroom and cried like a baby.
Keep your tears in your eyes—where they belong.Really????! Over a basketball game ?? Crying is only appropriate in two cases:
-funerals
- the Grand Canyon
Well we did beat IU earlier in the year and it would have been a rematch. So at least a good shot at that one. I think Duke beat the freshmen version of the Michigan Fab 5 by like 20 in the title game. As good as we played Duke and with all that experience + Mashburn our chances were good to win it. So we had a really good shot at that title. Not sure UK wins a title that year anyway, although it was a heart breaker.
Eh'. I was 17. It was probably more hormones than anything, lolReally????! Over a basketball game ?? Crying is only appropriate in two cases:

This. Anyone who says different, or any game that if we win, we win a ship, is stupid.Easy. Arizona, 1997!!!!! Three in a row!!!! You can now close this thread. 🖐😎🔥
I had one reaction watching that game: “Shit!”Eh'. I was 17. It was probably more hormones than anything, lol
I was going to post 84 as my second after 75 UCLA would now only have 10 and we would have 9. Wanted Bowie and Turpin to go on and win it all. Never saw such a bad shooting performance for a second half in my life up to that point. The obvious answer is Georgetown’84. However, many current fans have proven they lack the mental fortitude to deal with a loss like ‘15 Whisky. Given that, I guess you’d reverse ‘15. One of the most heart breaking was ‘14. That was a gutsy crew that finally learned team basketball.
Agreed. We would have had to play Duke and our game would have had to been flawless; we wouldn’t have gotten any favors that gameThe 97 game vs Arizona.
Even if we changed the 15 result vs Wisconsin, we still might not have won the national title.
This and it would be one less championship for UCLA and one more for UK.The 1975 game when We beat Indiana and played ucla when wooden retired. One of the biggest rip offs in basketball history. NO WAY, NO HOW were they going to let the biggest cheat lose his last game.
And they didn't.
Anyone who doesn’t say 1966 against Texas Western doesn’t really care about UK now or they are just to young to understand why.66. Nothing else close.
