Idea for overtime games. No curmudgeons allowed.

Pick one player from each team and play HORSE.
Sounds like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
Nah he just recognizes a stupid idea when he sees one.
How about a Tulaberry Pie Eating Contest. Each team picks a player. No beaming, transportation, or teleporting allowed.
So which is it block shot boyd? You don’t want old timers or young people? Make up your mind.
I think a fun evolution of the rules would be taking away a personal foul from each player if a game extends in to overtime.
Once game goes to overtime, allow players who have fouled out to play … allowing them a 6th foul … just move to 6 fouls for everybody
Or if no one has fouled out, pick one player from each team and take away a foul.
You can only shoot 3 pointers and they only count if you make it with your opposite hand. And all free throws must be thrown backwards over your head
I do think that any overtime game on Festivus should be settled by the feats of strength.
Personally, I would rather see the game end in a tie. It would make it so much more fun when the seeding is done in March.
2nd OT: Each team stands at the freethrow line facing each other. Put dodge balls at half court. Last one standing team wins the game.
Sure, but you have to wear a blindfold if you choose to shoot them that way instead of backward over your head.
Can you imagine all 5 defensive players guarding the basket while the offense is passing the ball around trying to figure out a way to "break thru" the line? Kinda funny to envision that.

It would be real interesting when all the big guys foul out and all that’s left is the low flying walk ons.
Imo what kills a basketball game is the fouls at the end, so unexciting. So last 2 minutes of the 2nd half and overtime, no fouls are to be called
I was going to say this but you beat me to it. This has been an opinion I’ve had since Jamal Mashburn played. Mashburn fouled out in OT against Duke in ‘92 and again in ‘93 against Michigan. We win both of those games if he doesn’t.
I think it should be exactly like a normal game of basketball, just the time reduced to say 5 mins or so.
