Hurley offered

Hurley is a Northeast guy through and through and is peaking why would he leave all his lifelong friends and family. Not everyone sells their soul for money especially when he has plenty. It is a big ask and a pipe dream if you ask me. Not that I wouldn't love to see it happen.

Just like Few will never leave. When you are home and have plenty why leave everything behind for a little more.
For prestige and an opportunity few get

Even for a crazy amount of money??
Not even for the $. All UConn will do is come as close as possible and give him more years and some perks that he/wife will enjoy. This isn't Nick Saban's wife hating Miami and wanting to be in college town/atmosphere. His wife loves the setup being close to their extended families and embraced by UConn before the winning. He's a fit there and have seen the Pitino comparison throw out but omitting Pitino saying "My biggest mistake was leaving UK"--i.e. leaving where you are the king of the sport on top.

Love to be wrong but just feel we're heading for Drew once Cal left after knowing he turned down UofL. Preparing myself to support Coach Drew and hope he utilizes the resources Kentucky can provide. Don't settle for being Baylor in Lexington-go get best staff possible, talent, etc...

You watch, Drew was the first call, and if he said no, Mitch would move UP the list to better coaching candidates like Hurley. But we may never see an offer or response from Hurley if Mitch's buddy Drew says he'll take it.
Yep. Exactly.

Good lord Drew sucks as bad as Cal.

UK does have some things going for them. More resources, and a much more sound returning roster, believe it or not. Uconn is losing 5 and Hurley knows this. He *could* stand to have a better roster at UK in day 1.

Why?

Well he'd better hurry up and accept $11m / year because Drew apparently has an offer on the table as well.

Ok, so post it then. I cannot believe he knows this, posted it and literally no other person in the media has reposted it or confirmed it. I don’t buy it at all
Dude . You can’t just post premium stuff from the HOB board on Rupp rafters . Surely you know that.

Hurley's recruiting will benefit significantly from Cal leaving UK. I expect UConn and UNC to benefit the most from Cal leaving Lexington. Cal in Fayetteville isn't the same at Cal at UK. It'll be very good but not what we grew accustomed to--more like his Memphis days IMO

You ready for Scott Drew?

seems like Drum heard from a "money guy" they were prepared to offer $11m

but I would assume that Barnhart didn't bite on that and went with his buddy, Drew

Now the question is - does Drew come to Ky for whatever...I'm guessing $6.5M?

Again, Kentucky is infinitely more prestigious than UConn with way more access to money, facilities, etc. To think otherwise is just silly

The only reason Hurley would not come would be because of the area
And evidently that’s his wife’s problem. So UConn could probably get to within about 5mil per year of our offer . So over 5 years that’s 25 million dollars. If she won’t leave she must REALLY love that place, lol .

A couple of reasons, one, the $18 million buyout to hire him away from Alabama, and two, he put out that message to the fans assuring them any rumors would be false, while secretly hoping UK would make the call so he felt like one of the big boys, and possibly get another raise.

Apparently Mitch put his jockstrap on correctly today, and is contacting the Whales on his short list to replace JVC.
That buyout isn’t squat if we want him.

Did Torres put this out? If so he’s either trolling or it has real legs bc AT is a huge UConn fan and tapped into that program as well. He wouldn’t add fuel to the fire and cares about his rep in the industry

If both Hurley and Drew have been offered what happens if both accept about the same time.

This is what I want clarification on. This isn't recruiting where the first to accept gets it. You offer one coach, if they decline, you move on to the next option. If Hurley declined I'd think we would have heard about it. Something isn't adding up, or someone has bad sources.
