Self flying in to see Quickly to personally bad mouth Cal?
He did that with Henry and it worked. Don't know about the bad-mouthing, but the last-minute visit part.
Henry's dad played at KU. Quickley does not have any connection to KU. If Quickley commits to Kentucky this weekend, like everyone expects, there is nothing a last minute visit will accomplish.
Big deal. Just another great UK player or two to get cheated out of a National Title again by Higgins and the filthy cheating pieces of shit NCAA while they help cheating scum like UNC and Duke get to the National Title game again. **** the corrupt NCAA and the corrupt refs they've got working for them. Screw college basketball. If not for UK, I would have stopped watching that rigged crap years ago.

I suspect the rumor is about Quickley and Drew Franklin is just being his usual hyperbolic self about it. Should help eventually with Zion though.
It would be cool if Quickley commits and then is the special guest at the football game they were talking about for an unofficial visit with his buddy Williamson on his official.

Quickley committing is awesome...but I'm not sure it's "Brace yourselves" type news. But, I'll happily take the commitment
But if our players hit those 3's and open jumpers that are always open it wouldn't matter. We were better then UNC last year, yes the refs cost us, but if Willis/Hawkins hit shots in the first half and Fox made his jumpers we win in a run away. Also up 5 late you gotta run good offense and score. Lets not even go into the last 4 mins in 2015.

True to a certain extent. It's awfully difficult to keep overcoming multiple obviously biased calls made in momentum changing moments.
Add the missed playing time by star players due to those biased calls that put players from UK on the bench during critical times and that's very steep mountain they have to climb!
I know when I'm faced with obvious corruption in a system I try to avoid it. These players and coaches can't.
Xavier Henry opened back up after Cal left Memphis. With his dad being a KU alum, I never assumed UK led for his services. He also never publicly fawned over Cal or Kentucky as far as I can remember. Just different situations.
Its always the school that's trailing that tries to get the additional face time. Same situation here as earlier today

I think the same thing happened with Knox. K made a visit as a last ditch effort to get him.
This points to Quickley to UK. Barrett to Duke or at least somewhere besides UK.
I'm hoping that with Quickley on board and Barrett off the board, Cal can focus totally on bringing in Williamson.

Barrett is likely two months away from a decision. Cal seeing him today was by no means a "last ditch effort." He may not get Barrett but he sure as hell has a great chance.
I thought Barrett was deciding soon? He plans on singing in the Fall which is in a little over a month, I believe.
I hope you are right, though.

If Self actually thought for a second he had a chance to steal this recruit from Cal, KU deserves to continue to stink it up with their recruiting of point guards. Everyone knew from the start this kid would be at Kentucky. Why waste your time and money if you are Self and KU. It is not like Self is known for putting lead guards in the NBA. Luckily for Self and KU i'm sure a former 4 star combo guard is not happy at his current school somewhere, might even be really in the lead for him and not the KU expert lead either. The type of lead that just isn't in your head like with KU slant experts.

Our point guard last year was the consensus National Player of the Year and was a better point guard each year he played in college compared to other point guards in his class, regardless of their ranking. This year, Devonte is a player of the year candidate. We may not get the one and done point guards, but we aren't striking out on them either.
Now, I would love to get the #1 ranked point guard every year, who wouldn't?
We are still in the RJ Barrett hunt for sure. King and Shittu are off the board for UK, Zion is in very much in play still.
In this class still have Bol Bol, Grimes, Johnson and Quickley available. Hopefully, after the weekend, UK signs Quickley and Zion. Lead for Barrett and make up the ground we had with Bol before the USA basketball situation over the summer.

Graham is a very good college guard who can drain 3's but he isn't on Mason's level and he is not a National player of the year level guy . He will be a top 15 player in his league for sure but lets not paint him to be something he is not . I know that is the KU way but c'mon.
Is Friday considered the weekend? Cuz the way I'm looking at it is it has to be something else other than quickley announcing. Like other posters quickley committing wouldn't be "brace yourself" type of news so I'm getting my hopes up for some exciting news
