Life comes at your pretty fast. My big sister, 50, went to work yesterday and never made it home. Brain aneurism, out of the blue. She left behind two children, 13 and 15. You just never know, so hug your loved ones today and when you see them for Christmas. Don't learn the hard way that there's always tomorrow, or that there will be time for goodbyes.

Sincere condolences to you and your family for your loss, SemperFiCat. I hope you all are able to come together for the holidays and find solace in positive memories and stories.

My brother was killed last year and also left behind two youngguns. It's a helpless feeling, and I'm sorry you all are confronted with it this time of year.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Prayers for you and your family. There's no good time ever, but days before Christmas is just cruel. Not fair. Not fair at all. Makes me angry and sad for you. and her two kids.

I'm sorry man.

I'm sorry to hear that. This time of year just sucks for a lot of people and sadly, too many forget it. Mom passed not long after Christmas so, I can somewhat understand.

Sorry to hear that Bro. May she RIP and my prayers go out to you and your family. I hope her children still have their father and make it thru this difficult time. I am 39 and I wouldn’t have made it this far without my parents sometimes. I can only imagine how difficult this will be for them.

I was 35 when I lost my Mom. And I still hurt. I can't imagine losing a parent as a teenager.

I bet, my mom is getting old and her health is declining. She is in AFIB and has to have an Atrial Ablation in March. I honestly think some of this is from the Jab and all the boosters. I know that is arguable but lot of heart issues popping up as side effects. Her age is enough brining on a lot of the issues. I have to get her medicine ready for her every week because she takes so many and can’t remember them all. I’m happy she is still here though I pray for a few more years at worst.

Lost my father at 17. Actually, 4 days after I joined this board and a couple weeks till I started college. Very hard time. This was a great place for me to kind of escape
Wow man I can’t imagine. My best friend In high school lost his dad early when we were about 22. Heart attack. It was very hard sorry to hear that.

So, very very sorry for your loss.
Something I learned this year. You never know how strong you are until strong is your only choice.
My family has been through a lot this year.
Lost my second grandson to suicide, he followed the same fate as his brother in 2018,
wife diagnosed with cancer in March and my 86-year-old MIL with lung cancer. I myself have been hospital 4X's with AFIB.
The older I get the harder life seems to be.
Strong is our only choice.

Sorry for your loss my friend. Just can't imagine. I've been extremely lucky to have never yet experience a severely tragic loss of a best friend, sibling or even close aunt/uncle or parent. I don't know if I could even prepare to cope with such a thing.

Thinking about you during this trying time.

My Mom had AFIB. Her mom (my grandmother) did as well. Tends to run in families. Especially in women, but men are not immune. I need to get myself checked out soon.

Yep, I had to help my mom get her meds together as well. I was always afraid she'd take too many or the wrong type while I was at work. I don't miss that worry, but I sure do miss her.

Been in the hospital 4X's this year with AFIB.
The good news even people with AFIB can and do live a long life.

Yeah a lot of older people get it and some just have to live with it. So far they did the electrical treatment a couple weeks ago and it worked for about 2 weeks. Now they are going in through her leg into the artery, and burning out the bad tissue hoping that solves the issue. Her Heart rate goes from like 60 to 148 while doing absolutely nothing. It always keeps her so tired. I’m afraid it will cause a heart attack either way that must stress and different beats so often.

I'm sorry to hear all that. Suicides are an awful thing to have to go through and heal from. And to have two in the same family....I can't even imagine. Prayers for you and your family.

Mine has jumped like that a couple of times. Like I said, need to get it checked. Mom luckily was able to get by with just medication. I hope yours recovers soon.

A good friend of mine passed away from an aneurysm ten years ago; also at age 50. He left behind his wife, a 13 yr daughter and a 10 yr old son. He was a huge Van Halen fan, and I think of him every time I hear a VH song; makes me sad and makes me smile at the same time.

Exactly BlueTick. Great perspective. I'm reading all these posts with a heavy heart. May God bless everyone in this thread. Wishing everyone a safe holiday and will keep you all in my prayers.

Sorry for your loss, my prayers for your family. And for everyone in here with similar stories. We lost my grandma on Christmas Eve many years ago and I unexpectedly lost my brother several years ago. Anybody that says it gets easy is lying. You just learn to manage the loss.
