Here is an impressive Stoops stat vs. top 25 opponents

Let's not forget where Stoops has this program. 16 straight non-conference game winning streak. There were two wins just this year 31-0 vs Southern Miss and 41-7 vs Ohio U. It was not that long ago these games were nail biters and I would hold my breath until UK had the game won. How about 5 straight wins vs Louisville and 6 of the last 7 including beating a coupe ranked Card teams. The UL games were not pretty a decade ago. Then we get to the 14 wins vs ranked teams in 11 years. How about 2 10-win seasons and 2 New Years Day bowl game wins over Big Ten opponents. I am in my 50's and have not seen this type of success on the grid iron. Do I want the Cats to stake the next step? Heck yeah, I do that is why root for them to win every game they play and get disappointed when they lose. I just like the fact Stoops has raised the program to respectability. I want to see him take the next step and achieve a playoff berth. Keep competing in games vs top ten teams like Goergia and Ole Miss games this year and they will get there.

If you are grading on a curve it is mediocre.... That is a well below 500 record. Not mediocre, not horrible, but bad. That is a simple fact. Also, do we just forget about the vacated wins? Was that 2 seasons worth? Those are also a fact. The guy has built it up better than it was, don't get me wrong, but I still believe his peak has been reached and if you aren't moving forward you are moving backward.

His numbers against teams ranked 10-25 are more impressive, at or over 50 percent.

And his numbers against top 10 teams is very modest, the only two wins being against U of L and Ole Miss.

But that last stat is almost a “parlor trick.” The vast majority of those Top 10 losses have been to Georgia and Bama, each (or both) steaming their way to National titles, or four-team playoffs. If you exclude only two or three teams, nationally, the whole of college football has modest records against Top 10 competition, especially against Georgia and Bama.

Heck, how many losses do Georgia and Bama have, combined, since 2017, and how many have been to another Top 5 opponent, or to each other? I think Georgia lost to South Carolina in 2017, and Bama got beat by A & M once in regular season play and by Texas once in regular season play. UT beat Bama once the last decade in regular season play. I assume LSU beat Bama in their title run a few years back.

Without looking, I’m guessing Georgia and Bama, combined, have a total of maybe 18 losses the last 7.5 seasons, with almost all coming from losses in the SEC Championship game, in the playoffs, or to one another. Hence, their combined records for the last 7.5 years is in the range of 158-18 . . . . with 3 or 4 real upsets.
I was surprised, they have 22.

The vacated wins had ZERO to do with Stoops. I'm not surprised to see you banging the same drum. You refuse to realize the position UK football is in. Statistically Stoops is the second best, but winningest coach in UK history.

In our history.

But yet you think we can just find the right coach to take us to the top. Your argument reminds me of a discussion I had with my nephew. He is yet another kid who thinks socialism/communism is a great idea. I ask him why its never succeeded and he immediately says no one has done it right.

You're just as sure that there is some HC who can finally do it right here. Despite the fact that Kentucky has a tiny recruiting base, we lack extensive wealth among boosters, our state is poor and now kids, especially the good ones, expect to be paid well. On top of that we're historically a basketball school.

You may want to appreciate Stoops. Other coaches say what he's done here is nearly a miracle for a reason. It is. You're gonna miss him when he's gone.
