Has Pope ever threatened to sit players for not defending?

Just like in Rounders. Generally the rule is: the nicer the guy, the poorer the card player, these guys despite being cops are real sweet hearts. I'm right on schedule, I'm up forty two hundred. The morning can't get here soon enough.

Pope don’t have it for uk. Hopefully he realizes that and moves on quick. He’s never had a balanced team. His defense always struggles.

1) As others have mentioned, you can only do this if you have people on your bench that would come in and do better and I'm not certain we have that.

2) This is only an effective method of doing things if you think the players are capable and just aren't giving effort. This is only if you believe the effort is lacking. Because you can't just make a poor defender better by telling him he's on the bench if he doesn't defend. It's not that he doesn't want to defend, its that they can't.

Plus the poor defenders on this team are also guys that are essential to winning games on offense. You'll bench these guys, the defense won't get better and the offense will be no doubt worse.

All of this to say it's not that they can't improve defensively, but whatever gains they have rest of this season are going to be because 1) we got healthy again and 2) the other guys got better marginally.

Lastly, this isn't 1970 anymore. There's plenty of coaches out there that succeed while being assholes. There's also plenty that succeed and still are nice guys.
