I see all the gloom and doom posts about losing out on Big Z but don’t remember seeing it being posted by UK he was declined to be admitted. Can anyone shed more light on this subject matter.

I have only seen other sites saying it is a longshot that he will now be coming to UK. I have seen zero from anyone at the University saying he is officially ineligible. I think posters in the other thread are assuming that this means he is done as a possibility at playing for UK but nothing official yet that I can find.

I would imagine they are still working on this. The season is almost here and while that applies to Kentucky, it applies to everyone else as well.. If Ivisic truly had no shot at playing here, he'd be best to hurry to another school, go theoruhg their admissions, and start to get acclimated to the team and campus.. And the fact that this hasn't happened yet seems like a good sign to me.

If he doesn’t get in supposedly DePaul might be his destination. Think calipari sends him there with peevey for a passive aggressive shot at the administration?

At this point we gotta be looking at 2nd Semester as best case scenario. Cal will play him 6 mins a game, hesitant to work him into the rotation during SEC play. He’ll talk throughout the conference slate that he’s “getting him in some action in certain spots, getting him ready for next year…” Which on the surface suggests a return, but doesn’t actually mean anything. He shows flashes during the opening weekend in the tournament getting significant first half minutes, actually contributing to building the lead. Cal hypes him up as a possible X factor, but doesn’t play him in the Sweet 16 loss. Y’all know the rest…

Maybe we get Big Z at Big Blue Madness. This would be in time for those “part-of-term” courses. If it could be kept quiet too omg what a big surprise.

Thank God you posted this, there aren't already enough threads asking this same thing already.

If he is cleared to play at Kentucky(which I think is beyond ever happening at this point) ivisic will have a “LSU @home game” like Bryce Hopkins did and for the rest of the season cal will say what about big Z I gotta play him more, then he will never play him the rest of the year

The real question is, has they officially announced he wasn’t admitted. Now that’s the question the OP should be asking.

He’s not trying to take his heart.

The admissions person the Herald Leader spoke too today, said a student can enroll for mid-term classes in October. As long as they take 12 hours, the NCAA considers them full time and eligible.

There was nothing official on Sharpe either until the 11th hour, but they still knew the whole time that there wasn't a chance he was playing after the February meeting in 2022 with Calipari.

Having grown up in Lexington during the 70's and 80's, the thought that this kid is not academically eligible to attend, and play basketball for the University of Kentucky, is, well, laughable.

UK is displaying a breathtaking lack of self-awareness IMO.

Love UK. Attended UK. Donates to UK.

That being said; UK sometimes chooses very bizarre hills to "die on"...

The situation is definitely bizarre.. Admission department, athletic department, and bigz pretty much silent. We know Cal and he likes to talk. If Cal had any issues with admission wouldn't we have heard by now. Why hasn't Cal turned up the heat.

mostly the doom and gloom is from Cal haters...they are hoping he does not come so they have one more reason to bash..
Ridiculous. Everyone wants to see a winning team in rupp. No one is pulling for failure. The problem for cal is cal and every season mega drama. That has nothing to do with fans. The fans show up. Cal has haters because he has provoked the fanbase and lost big. If he would endear himself to the fanbase and get back to winning things could be fine depending on his attitude. The ball is in his court and has been.

Can someone good at explaining things sit me down here and explain to my simple mind why this has become an issue. I need the guy sitting on the store porch sipping a coke and peanuts version. Thanks in advance. I’ll be here rocking

It's become an issue because what should've been our rubber-stamped insurance policy against the possibility that neither of our inujured bigs return fully healthy has potentially become the bureaucratic red tape reason for our season to once again end prematurely because of being "one player short".

International students from certain countries need to pass an English entrance exam to get into UK. He did not pass the reading portion of the exam. UK admissions also has the ability to waive that requirement if they wish to do so. So far, they have not done that.
