I have seen a lot of people angry on here saying Stoops tried to leave but came back because the offer was pulled from A&M. Fans down there didn’t want him. Grumpy lives in Georgia and has said multiple times he heard down there Stoops turned them down. They ended up with Mike frickin Elco. Grumpy says the narrative down there is they panicked when Stoops said no. Deone Walker said at Media days Stoops assured him that day he wasn’t leaving. He was staying loyal. Stoops said he was targeted VERY AGGRESSIVELY when asked at media day. All talk at there seems to suggest it was Stoops who said No. if so, a lot of posters here owe an apology for inventing their own narrative. CMS drives me insane with his passive 3rd down defense but he is a wonderful coach. An even better person. His players love him. We are lucky to have him. Inventing your own story is something Louisville and Rick Bozich does. Let’s all assume coach is here because he wants to be here. The evidence supports that.
