You're probably right. But any starting spot should go to the player who impacts winning the most, right? I just want to see an honest competition. I think Knecht will be the better SF next season. And even then, why couldn't Edwards play the other forward spot alongside Knecht?

Because I’ve watched both of them play.

Knecht has matured, developed and gotten better. He’s honed his skills playing against much tougher competition for 3 years. I admit it’s an opinion still based on limited information. We haven’t seen Edwards play in college yet. But I expect he’s going to be good as a freshman. I like him as a recruit a lot. I just don’t think he’s the best SF option that UK can (potentially) get. It’s not a knock on Edwards to think he’s not the greatest SF in basketball as a college freshman.
