Last year when we started playing really good it started when Andrew attacked and began to finish. Seemingly like he stopped thinking and just said F it. He seems to be pressed by the fact things happen so natural for Ulis that he isn't himself. He over thinks whether he should drive and kick or drive to score.
I hate it for him because I think he could be a solid backup NBA PG, but in college a Liggins type role could really help his game. Allowing Ulis and the Harrison's to all be on the court together and Ulis running point COULD take a lot of the overthinking out of Andrew's head.
I'm not sure I've ever seen a college player be so perfectly compared to an NBA guy like Booker/Klay Thompson. Both are very very smooth offensively, and can play extremely well defensively.
At 6'10 I wonder how Lyles could do with his back to the basket, he seems capable of almost anything. Would like to see us go "small" and allow Lyles to play in the post.

Aa has no conscious and at times has proven to be exactly what we needed. An second guesses every shot that doesn't fall, every call/non-call. At some point, STFU and play. It's exhausting to watch and can only imagine living it. Aa has really stepped up his perimeter defense.

Lamb was a sniper. And we won a title with him. Best shooting guard since Delk. And we won with Delk. Not really a coincidence.

I have, they don't effectively attack and when they do they BOTH typically make the wrong decision.
Regardless, even with a lackluster offensive game, 6 FG's in the 2nd half, we waxed. Not going to get into pissy nit picking on a 20 pt win for an undefeated team against a Frank Martin team.
The 54 point performance is my favorite single game performance.However, I am thinking Meeks was a mid 30's type three point shooter at UK. I believe Booker would beat that number in a three year span. I could just be excited about Booker,and thinking he is better than he is. When Booker shoots I feel the same way I did about Meeks his junior year.
Uh, the reason he gets blocked is because of a double pump that minimizes his size advantage. If he went straight up he'd be nearly unstoppable.

Rebounding was poor today but some of that does have to do with how many blocks we go after and how many poor shots we force.

Yep. When you have 10 blocks, probably 15-20 other altered and contested shots, that's going to happen. Well hopefully not that many but a disproportionate amount. They just go after everything.Originally posted by B.B.d.K.:

I think WCC nailed it. If we can get Johnson and Towns scoring on the post at all, we're damn near unbeatable. Hell we're close anyway. Guess thats why Cal is insisting on feeding those guys b/c he see's that as well. They show flashes, we've seen some good interior passes the last few games. Johnson is pretty annoying, KAT is just learning what he an do with that body of his.

Why don't we post up WCS? It never happens. How about doing it a few times a game. I promise you he would be as effective as Dakari and KAT. I'd like to know why we don't do it AT ALL. If there is a good reason for it, I'm game to hear it out, but he freelances enough during the game to where I can't see you not going to him at least 2 or 3 times a game posting up.
Yep. I've long thought we was underrated. He's quick, has a decent hook, lightning spin move...and if nothing else at LEAST gets a shot up on the rim & in play for an offensive rebound, which is often our best offensive play.

We act like Dakari is a PRIMARY option much of the time, but treat WCS like he doesn't exist -- maybe that should be reversed

I just don't get SEC Fan. I know football is king, but we walked up yesterday and bought a pair of lowers 15 rows off the court at about the FT line for 20 bucks each.

At times Cauley Stein seems scared to make the move or take the shot. He had some beautiful moves against Texas and who has a bigger frontline than them?
There was a play midway through the 2nd half yesterday where he caught it on the left side, pivoted to face the basket and was about 15 feet out. He had isolation. He thought about going for a second and kicked it back out. He's so quick for 7 footer he could've easily gotten around his man & gotten to the rim for a layup/dunk.
He still has no clue how good he could be on offense.

Seems like every time he gets the ball it's 15' from the rim. That little turn, super high jump, drop the ball into the hoop is tough to guard.
-WCS in the post is tricky. Sometimes he looks great. Other times I cringe as he fires a fast ball off the glass.

Looks like that Zollo kid we had committed for a while.
Which reminds me of the second most pissed off moment on a message board... when Dave Telep posted some "highlights" of the guys we had committed at the time. The one of Villarino and KC basically had Miller on a fast break missing a lay-in and Villarino missing two free throws. That was the entire highlight reel for each of them.

Been saying this for months on the secret text thread that Cal's teams have been missing a Zollo type player the last few years. We're talking about a stud that averaged almost 4 a game at WKU before transferring to Furman and then transferring to NW Florida and then transferring to Cleveland State.

By the way, in defense of Chad, it wasn't some rando blogger that named Donovan the #1 coach in CBB right now, it was touching ESPN. Last summer.
