GYERO

It’s been a million years ago so I may be remembering it incorrectly, but Oweh reminds me of Heshimu Evans in that he wasn’t the smoothest guy out on the floor, but he seemed to have a knack for always contributing and scoring when you needed a bucket.

Love Noah's nose for the ball. Almost reminds me of a freshman Gerald Fitch in how the ball always seems to find his hands during bang-up plays.
Noah lived every Kentucky boy's dream last night. He came off the bench in Rupp to beat Tennessee and, if you follow the plus/minus stat, he was the best player. I hope he has himself a day today.

Pope's only true misstep of his tenure to this point is favoring Holler Baller over Mountain Mamba, imo. GTFO with that nonsense. Mountain Mamba is it.

* If you put any stock in the +/- stat, Carr was 16 last night and Almonor was -6, despite a hefty scoring differential in favor of Ansley. I don't care how badly injured Carr looks on TV, he needs to be on the floor every minute his body will allow. He's that important to this team.

Withthatsaid, Ansley sticking one right in Chaz's eye for the And-1 in Rupp and woofing about it needs to make the highlight reel this season.

* Can we get that Koby Brea the rest of the year? Dude looked like an NBA veteran last night.

* That felt like a tournament win. How in the world did Pope pull that win out of his ass?

Good coaches lose that game and have every excuse in the world for doing so. In the moment, this feels like a milestone on Pope's journey at UK. My boy is wicked smaaaaart.

* This whole video is magic but at 1:50, Noah hugs Pope in the handshake line and then some lady grabs Noah, presumably for an interview. Carr and Lamont both instantly exert senior privilege and start rubbing Noah's head to mess up his hair for the interview. 😆.

VIBES? CHECK!

Couldn’t disagree more about Carr. I’d prefer they sit him and let that back rest for March which is basically what they are doing bringing him off the bench and not letting his minutes get out of hand.

With his 15 minutes, Almonor starting and Noah spot minutes covering a 4 we are good there.

Just get to March as healthy as possible.

I actually enjoyed the little reprieve we got last night from Dykes and Ravich not on the call. Seemed like they had done everyone of our games for the last three weeks. I still don’t mind Dykes too much as long as it’s in small doses.

- Love seeing Brea with the ball and facilitating, opponents key on him so much , opens up a lot of other stuff. The Brea to Oweh dunk might just be the highlight of the year thus far considering the circumstances.

Was the last time we played in Austin the 2005 Elite 8? I think we played Texas maybe 2014 but that was in Dallas iirc

First time back at Rupp in years

- Taking 4 kids and a wife that doesn’t get basketball was quite entertaining. Everyone around was was good sports to the krazies and weren’t offended, thankfully.

- 8 year old soaked it all in as he is getting into basketball. Of course I’ve been teaching him to move more and try to get to the basket more and now he just wants to be Koby Brea and shoot the ball from outside.

Awesome!

- 13YO(big UK fan) and 14YO,who cheers for UL and anyone not UK, had a blast and created a great memory for their first UK game ever. The couples behind us couldn’t stop laughing and mine and my 14YO’s constant back and forth jabs.

He is at least a BIG Oweh fan and loved the dunk and Oweh chant at the end.

Calls him King Oweh for some reason and kept telling me to put some respect on his name.

- The Ice cream. I mean yea it’s good because it’s at a basketball game but it took the whole halftime standing in line for it.

The 5YO couldn’t stop it from melting and has no clue how to eat ice cream or how to listen………..but once again everyone around got their LOL moment as the wife got to say “ babe just lick it” a few times to me in an effort to help him.

- The F’ing crowd. Man I forgot to record it and can’t find a replay of it yet but that had to be one of the more electric environments for Rupp.

Amazing!

- This team. On TV it’s easier to pick things apart and recognize certain stuff but in person it’s a whole different ball game.

It helped the KY boys were hitting shots, but the spacing, the flow and how we started driving more was just beautiful ball.

Hell I didn’t even notice the refs too much other than Amari getting frustrated.

We are DEEP, and our depth is only getting better as Perry, Noah and Chandler get clock. Even though we have some specific role player types in Brea and Almonor we also have 3-4 Swiss Army knives in Amari, Robinson, Carr, Noah and Oweh.

Also we play up, way up, to our competition.

Some shitdohs:

- Love dog sounds like when they finally get situated to take a nap and let out a sigh or when they're dreaming and doing little yelps while kicking their legs. F'ing love my pups.

- Old buddy came through town for work and took him to the new Korean BBQ place by us. Big fan because you go pick out your meats buffet style and get right to it without having to wait on servers. Have a magnetic trolly taking all the veggies and stuff around the restaurant. Big fan.

- Wife just gave a speech at her alma mater to a bunch of womenz. I knew she was nervous AF because I kept getting texts about her upcoming travel schedule. The more nervous she gets, the more project management she does with everything. Btw, she killed it.

- It's so GD refreshing to really care about the Cayuts. Was getting to the point where missing half a game wasn't a big deal. Not getting up out of my seat for anything. Last night was another example of how f'ing awesome it is to beat a rival and just enjoy TF out of some CBB. Whether this team bounces 1st round or makes it interesting, it's been one of the most memorable seasons already for all the different reasons this team came to be. Also, big fan.

- Getting calls every other day from brother about what to keep or toss from what mom kept. Almost through all of it so not going to miss those conversations. But, has some cathartic benefits to the whole process.

- Old white and thought Kenrick murdered. I live around mumblers that I'm constantly asking to repeat what they said so I didn't actually hear anything he rapped except the parts where he's just driving a dagger through Drake's entire persona. Good to see Americans back to arguing about the dumbest imaginable shit, too.

- While John Rocker turned out to be a giant POS, the ladies absolutely went apeshit when he ran out of the bullpen. Never seen anything like it.

- Got pit passes for Daytona on Sunday. Going to be pretty crazy with POTUS apparently attending and already being sold out. Still have no idea who the drivers are for the most part.

- One more time - eat all the shit, UT.

- Be safe, friends.

If that dipshit Reed Sheppard had stayed you could’ve gotten away with just calling this team the mountain mambas. That would’ve been kinda fun.

Why are people upset about this whole Gulf of America thing? Doesn’t everyone just call it “the gulf” anyway?? It’s the only gulf around?? Let’s just agree to meet in the middle and call it the Gulf of TexMex. The Gulf of Chuy’s 👍
