As you all may recall we recently got a new puppy. It's been struggle so far and we've worked to adjust. House breaking wasn't so much a problem, but she's been a lot more aggressive than we expected. For the first few weeks, if you interrupted her when she was sleeping she'd snap at you. If you needed to put her in her kennel I'd recommend putting on oven mitts. One of my kids was basically terrified of her. It would come and go throughout the day, but we started to wonder if she was a lost cause.
The good news is we've really turned the corner over the last week. She's seemed to mellow out significantly. She stopped snarling and snapping. While not wanting to go in her kennel, she didn't put up a fight. She was more cuddly and was even being very sweet with my kids. And then today, after a long walk in the woods, I noticed she was in pain. She had some really deep burrs in her beard and paws. They took about 30 minutes to get out and she was crying most of the time I was helping her, but she let my remove the burrs while I held her in my arms without even trying to snap at me. Progress!
And then, as I removed the last burr that was buried deep in her fur right below her mouth, she hopped out of my arms, ran over and jumped on my leather chair where I always sit, turned around, looked me in the eyes, and popped a 5 second long piss.
