I don’t know if Matthews has another year left, but that dude is an absolute beast. Transfer portal, please.
He's a senior. Nwoko and Hubbard are underclassmen though...

If the first half is for gathering research, the first season for Pope in the SEC may be for scouting.

We pulled Ansley Almonor off the scrap heap out of Farleigh Dickinson. I can't imagine what they are going to do in the portal with a full season to scout, plot, and match the haul to the existing talent.

I was worried when Jaxson got dunked on. He was breaking out, having a great start, and then I thought that might mess him up mentally. Nope. That’s the veteran playmaker need for these next 15+
Only thing that slowed him down a bit was after his 8th 3 ball Ogelsby decided he needed to put his arms on Jax and tell him to stop taunting the crowd.

*Imagine being the second-fiddle school in the state of.......Mississippi. Trash fan base.

*When Robinson is scoring and involved, the O is a thing of beauty.

*In our 5 biggest wins, the offensive execution in the last 5-7 minutes of those games has to be off the charts. Seems like we have scored on 90% of those possessions.

*Splitting the road games this week should result no more than a 2-spot drop in the AP Poll.

*Hoping last night was Game One of Pope and the boys figuring something out going forward.

If that happened, Almonor might get another year. None of our other seniors would though as they’re all 5th year guys as is Matthews.

- Only complaint for Robinson from me is that he has to get involved early so he doesn’t self check. But really that’s something Pope has to recognize and scheme for IMO.

The talent is clear but he just isn’t an alpha killer type.

- Almonor got hot at the exact right time which won us the game. That’s not to say Carr, Butler, Oweh, Robinson and Garrison didn’t play their roles but those 3’s late from Almonor made the game for us.

- MSU did not score the last 2 minutes of the game. Our defense isn’t very good but it tends to be clutch.

- When Hubbard went out we went to that match up zone. That switch has been crucial in a few of our wins so far.

- I actually like that MSU team, a lot. A star lead guard, a few decent enough shooters, and some big overly athletic dudes that get after it……….. sounds like an old school Cal/Memphis type of team.

Cal has lost his way and had he never been at UK I’d love seeing it, but as it stands it’s kind of sad honestly. Still find myself cheering against them every time I turn them on though. No mercy for the weak!

Shit like that pisses me off as much as anything.

My sophomore year in high school we were playing at Franklin Simpson. I scored on a dude much bigger than me and started hyping my bench up on the way back down the floor. Next dead ball ref tells me to tone it down or he will give me a tech. I told him to not say anything else to me or just give me the damn tech. He did. Bench for the rest of the half.

I don’t need refs coaching the players. Especially if he was just taunting the crowd

Pope’s in game composure compared to Cal’s is hilarious. And it shows on the court. No more playing not to lose, taking the air out of the ball, micromanaging each possession, etc…

We’re prepared, Pope is chill, encouraging and not the least bit scared/worried in the huddle. It clearly shows in our play.

Incredibly happy to see elite Robinson on the road. He had it in him, did it on the road at Kansas last year, for some reason it just need to be pulled out of him here. Whatever the issue, I just hope EliteJax is here to stay and isn’t dependent on whether a couple of his first few shots drop.

Slowly but surely the talking heads of the world are coming off of their “YOU MUST HAVE ELITE GO TO BUCKET GETTER IN COLLEGE GAME CRUNCH TIME”

This has always been unequivocally false with this team. When any guy can make a shot, you can run your offense with multiple options at crunch time. You don’t have to clear out and go “get a bucket”

You may be right, but soon enough we will have them, and when so, shew wee.

Article from last year, but I’m guessing city still doesn’t have map from Fayette County Schools. Or they just want another week off:

Pathetic leadership. There are enough main roads cleared in Neighborhoods to where they could have alternative pick ups, but that would take effort to come up with a map, so forget that…schools out!
The institutions overrun by wackos is out of control. The state needs to take this shit over.

There’s obviously still some kind of disconnect between the city and FCPS. The side roads in “Montclair” are terrible and I imagine they are still that way on all the unranked streets. Why isn’t the city continuing to plow/salt? Or are they and they just haven’t made it to side roads yet? Or did FCPS forget to give them the bus routes again this year? Are they going to go back at all this week? It’s only going to get colder and possible light snow again early in the week.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they don’t go back this week because well…it’s FCPS..set the lowest bar possible and they will never let you down. As long as we keep voting in school board members who support incompetent leadership, nothing will ever change. If I heard their prerecorded phone call, they said because of roads and SIDEWALKS. So they are setting it up even if someone says roads cleared, FCPS can say sidewalks are dangerous. They are really good at planning on how they can’t do something rather than figuring out how they can do something. How do Chicago kids ever get to school on those dangerous sidewalks? Surprised FCPS hasn’t taken some 5 million dollar trip up to Chicago yet to study that, as much as they also love blowing thru taxpayer money, then saying we need more $.

Bullitt County is in and I know we got some 1 lane roads that aren’t clear.

Good news is depending on accuracy we should get another fairly big snow storm between Jan 18-24, supposedly.

Could this be the year where all the predictions come true?!?

That’s pitiful.

Our roads are sprayed the night before expected snowfall. Plows pass every street at least twice during any significant accumulations.

My son was on phone as he came into Lexington and he was cursing a blue streak at the horrendous conditions of New Circle Road… if that ain’t plowed clear, your tax dollars are being burned on stupid shit

Still have some friends there (at FCPS) that work in technology. And they implored the Superintendent to send the Chromebooks home with kids over the break, but Liggins put the kibash on it, which of course led to kids not being able to do NTI.

Give Linda a break on plowing…. She has to build even more parks. Can’t let anything distract from parks, which is what really matters. Parks.
I still think they fudged the numbers on the taxes for parks vote. I just have a hard time believing that many people voted to increase their taxes.

Sounds like daddy should buy a 4wheel drive. Take matters into your own hands and quit pointing the finger.

Then how can they make tomorrow an NTI day?

By saying you have 3 days to make it up 😀. That’s how they can’t go to school. And someone told me
“Another form is going out to families in the morning from teachers, asking if families need a Chromebook. (District instructed). If so, can they pick it up or do they need it delivered.” Shouldn’t they already have them info from survey they sent Friday asking who has a Chromebook?
So another way they can’t/don’t need to go to school. Instead of figuring out how they can.

Then how can they make tomorrow an NTI day?
They sent a survey home and (wow - what a stunner!) 80% of parents said they could still do NTI work (who would’ve thought?) without the county’s chromebook. So they say they’re going to “work with” those who can’t.

I believe 3 of the 4 days last week were also built in days to the calendar, so they probably weren’t pressed to make them NTI but that’s just the hen gossip mill.

Scott County is going to school tomorrow. If they can go (with all of those bus routes that run into Sadieville etc. it's hard for me to believe that FCPS can't go. I can't ever remember a time when that happened (SCPS open and FCPS closed)

Whaddya think he’s driving, bubbers? A 2022 to boot. Roads still suck and his apartment complex didn’t bother plowing their parking lot.

At what point can you start calling folks lazy?

Just messing with ya buddy.

I know I’ve wore my 4WD out this past week and enjoyed every second of it. Had to assist a few “emergency workers” that were neighbors which gave me extra reasons to get out in the mess.

The one thing I will say this week has confirmed is a necessity in my next home build is a generator. Just want that extra security.

The propane backup for heat has been clutch and a great option.

I don't give a rats ass about the Eagles or the Packers but I reckon I'm finally done with the NFL after the hatchet job the ref's just gave Green Bay.
