The fact that the SEC pays us $60 mill a year for football and the Crafts had to pay for our f@cking ribbon boards is reason # 6,765 that Barnhart is the worst AD in the country.
I would literally rather have Rogue or Krazy making decisions than that jackass.

One of the greatest scams ever. $150mm in revenue but can’t spend it on the players, spend very little on facilities, and jack up prices on tickets and concessions, etc.

Can spend it on salaries (both coaches and administrative). Can also spend it on lavish travel.

Gotta love it.

As long as the person running the ribbon boards knows how to spell, advantage UK.
A new statue of Kobe Bryant outside of Crypto.com Arena contains four typos. The team is working to fix them.

Kirk Cousins may be one of the greatest financial wizards of our generation.

Free agency reminder that many UK FB players have done well, Z Smith just signed again, he and Bud Dupree have made $150 million combined. God bless them.

At this point, I wonder why the Crafts continue to pour so much of their money into the football program. They already have a few buildings with their name on it. Seeing how much UK is raking in from the SEC and the obscene salaries these coaches and admins are making, I would be second guessing why I am giving millions to a black hole of mediocrity that is Stoops and KY Football. That all said, God Bless them and others who have the means and willingness to donate.

I would imagine all of this new NBA pre-draft hype is pretty unexpected for the Sheppards. This last month has to be a whirlwind for that family. They strike me as the type that plan well and consider things carefully as it pertains to any sort of future success.

What I'm saying is, they have things to consider that may not have even been on their radar just one month ago. We're talking about the potential first pick in the draft here (I don't think that will happen fwiwimo).

I’m a finance guy so I know the shit I’ll take for this but I’d rather make $5mm/year at UK for 3 more years, knowing I will still go to the nba than go to NBA next year and start making $8mm/year for the pistons.

It’s not so much what he could make at UK for another year or two in NIL vs. what’d he pull in the NBA the first couple of years, but the bigger issue is the the impact of delaying his second NBA contract, where you start making generational changing wealth, and how much that'd ultimately cost him down the road. If he’s good and has a long career in the league, another year or two at UK could cost him immensely more $ overall than the difference of a few million in NIL vs. his rookie contract salary.

I understand the math of long term and the second contract. But there is also the possibility of being a bust. In that case, it’d be nice going into the nba with $15mm in your pocket.

If he gets a max second contract, $$ will never be an issue for him in his life whether he gets that second contract at 23 or 27.

Random nostalgia:

- I love the Madison Square Garden horn. A deep, rich, and masculine sound that lets you know when a sub is coming in. Rupp has the same sounding horn but it isn't that loud.

I was catching some of the WCC tournament last night and their horn sounded like some weak-ass European/Olympic sounding crap that made my skin crawl. Just a high pitched MEEEEEEEEEEEP like if the Road Runner had a speech impediment or something. I don't care for it.

That's all. Sorry.

First contract: 20
Second contract: 24
Third contract: 28

Yep, he'll be in the poor house if he doesn't come out now.

I was watching Reed highlights during some slow time and found this. It's the only time I've noticed him show any type of emotion and it's a stone faced, high pitched, "gimme that sh**" 😆

It’s an incredibly stupid argument. At the end of the day he either wants to stay close to home and play for his dream school another year or he doesnt, and I’m sure how far they make it in the tournament will play a huge factor. He can come back and make 2mill in NIL that I’m not sure how it’s taxed, with virtually zero expenses, and have his dad who’s a f*cking financial advisor invest it for him or he can get drafted by the Knicks for 4 million, get taxed the max, and have to buy a 3 million dollar 900 square foot condo. One year isn’t going to make a huge difference unless he doesn’t make it in the NBA, which is actually just another reason he can stay one more year and get better so he has a better chance of sticking in the league. The money aspect with NIL is not that huge. People keep ignoring all the additional fees when you’re a pro - have to pay for a trainer, for an agent, for housing etc etc. He has virtually zero expenses as a student.

If he comes back for a second season, it will be for personal reasons. Please stop pretending the money will be even close, because it won’t. He can make multiple times more money as a pro. It’s possible he comes back, but if he’s solely motivated by money he’s gone. It’s pretty simple actually.

I personally interact with like 150 people in the world on a semi-weekly basis and one of them is offering Reed $1M to stay. Point being - I feel like there's a lot other sources of income for him here. So maybe I'm confused why Reed's market earning potential is so much less than a rookie NBA contract.

Btw, shouldn't we also be talking about Wagner staying? Cause I don't really see where he can go at this point.

You gotta move Wagner out the door to make room.

Wagner definitely is leaving considering how selfish he is. I wouldn't be surprised if he quit basketball after getting that first payday and just bankrolled a local drug dealer or something. Can't see him being a part of a team. He's more cancerous than cancer.
I hears he was staying so he could continue having intimate carnal sessions with your mother.

Before NIL, Reed leaving would be a complete no brainer. With NIL, the thought of moving away at 19-20 to play against grown ass men and the grind of professional basketball vs being worshipped by a state and school I grew up dreaming playing for and still making millions doing it seems like an easy decision but I have never had someone offer me millions for anything so what the F do I know. Think it all depends on how the team does in the next few weeks.

I keep reading people who say his lifelong dream was to play for UK or that playing for UK is his dream. How do you all know that playing in the NBA isn't also a dream of his. He has accomplished one of those dreams already so maybe he's ready to move on to dream number 2.

I don't know exactly how much is out there for Reed, but I think it's more than some of you think. About a month ago I attended a dinner at Winstar farm for Reed. His fee was $30k. Guy sitting with me said he had 4 similar events booked for that week. He also said they have a standing offer from 1 single person of $3 mill for him if he comes back.
His girlfriend is also at UK.
