While it’s sad that most of the legendary PbP guys are hanging it up, Ian Eagle is & has been for awhile now a sure fire lock to be one of those guys when most of us become super seniors.

I vividly remember being PISSED and mocking dude when he was new wayyyy back. “We got Ian F Eagle? Cmon, give us the real guys” lol. Dude is a total pro.

Raft needs no words obviously. The dramatic pause to let the crowd flex is something ESPN can only dream of. CBS just crushes it.

What a damn sequence. I was fortunate to be in attendance, was pandemonium. Edwards with the steal to start it was just perfect for his dream evening.

Our transition game this year has been beautiful basketball.

Always been partial to Kevin Harlan because of his gruff delivery, which sounds like he had a three martini lunch and couple darts before stepping behind the mic. His call of the Cavalier's opening round loss last year to Furman is a masterclass in delivery that Fancy Pants Nance or emotionless Al Michaels could learn from.

But I’ll concede his delivery is likely more suited for radio, to which he’s GOAT in that format on a national level.

2-2, well ok then that’s fair and I’ll still believe they have a championship level run in them.

- That budget jump really removed the Bengals hesitation to tag Higgins.

- Binged the Offer last night and today while working from home. Made me want to watch The GodFather all over. I’m sure the Offer 2 will be better by design just like godfather 2 was the best of the series.

Ian and Raf were calling Net games back to the Cal era. The reason why they were my team. Bird and Sara Kustok are good but not magical. I pray Grant Hill goes to the studio because he’s such a stiff analyst. Gimme back Kellogg and him grabbing oranges.

Clyde and Mike are also great for the Knicks.

A good booth paints and shapes the picture.

Back from Vegas....

Palazzo room overlooking The Sphere and the Wynn Golf Club. Great room. Slots & video poker not kind. Table game minimums were too rich for my crew. Played BJ, 3 Card Poker, and Ultimate Texas Hold 'Em downtown.

Wife had her biggest win ever. She had the A, Q, 10 of hearts on 3-card poker for a flush win. I also had a flush, but saw her hand and said out loud to the dealer "Please have the other 2 hearts under there." Dealer flips her cards, I see the J and K revealed and I yelled a HOLY SHIT, YOU GOT THE ROYAL FLUSH! Here's where it gets crazy. The dealer paid the flush but NOT the 6-card royal at 1,000 to 1 on the dollar bet. Then she chucked the cards to the discard pile. I stopped her and asked her why she didn't pay the 6-card win. She looked puzzled and said she didn't hit it. I told her, "You need to pull those cards and check it again. She had a royal." She pulled them, realized her mistake, then called over the put boss to tell him what happened. Super cool dude, he handled it very professionally and got my wife paid after double-checking the video tape. I'm guessing that dealer got some grief over almost missing that hit.

Fountainbleu is stunning. Can't gush enough about the place. A long time coming, but the end result is gorgeous. Tier matched as well.

The Sphere film is pricy but worth doing once. I would like to see a concert there at some point. Atomic Saloon at The Venetian was raunchy, hilarious, and fun. Highly recommend any Spiegelworld show, but Absinthe at Caesar's Palace would still be my pick. The Beatles LOVE Cirque show at Mirage (soon to be Hard Rock) is the best I've seen and the highlight of the trip IMO. Wives did some Harry Potter-themed comedy show at Horseshoe while the guys went down strip to MGM Grand for gambol.

MGM Grand sports book is starting to show its age. TVs are old and fuzzy now. Watched and bet the UK- Bama game there, met some folks from Louisville (1 was a Cayts fane). Disappointed that they essentially shove the app down your throat to even walk in there. Pain in the ass to sign up on site. Almost missed betting before tip. Money was made. Tight on the drink comps, and the waitress overcharged us for a round.

We got it back on their Cherries Jubilee slots. Had a tip they were the easiest slots anywhere to get a hand pay jackpot. My buddy hit it for a grand with $9 to spare on a $40 investment. I hit it later that night myself with $13 left on a $100 after whiffing on an earlier try. Seriously, those slots are well worth a swing at them.

Michael Jackson One Cirque show was decent. Probably would not do again. Of course did the Purple Reign tribute show at the very depressing-looking Tropicana, as our crew knew some of the band members personally. Per usual, Prince's first MIL was front and center, as she is every weekend. Good riddance, Trop, 4/2/2024.

It's nice to kick Nate Oats' shit in. Real nice.

I stayed at the Tropicana once- and I learned an important Las Vegas lesson: when they tell you at check in “oh, we have to tell all of our guests there’s a convention here this weekend and all of the attendees are wearing wristbands so you know, if that’s a problem we can find you another room somewhere” maybe instead of trying to play it cool ask what exactly the convention is and take them up on the offer to move otherwise you and your then-girlfriend, now-wife might spend a weekend in Las Vegas at a hotel hosting a giant swingers convention.

#ProTip

Congrats on the swinger sex.

Have you ever had to listen to a group of 50-60 somethings, one of them wearing leather biker shorts, talk about setting up a threesome while you’re just trying to get some fruit at the breakfast buffet?

If you have not, consider yourself #blessed
50-60 yr Olds sporting leather and setting up orgies at a holiday Inn but still not gunna miss that early bird complimentary breakfast is awesome

I guess it depends. When I was 12 I was attracted to 12-year old girls. When I was 18 I was attracted to 18-year girls. Now that I'm in my 40's I am attracted to other 40 year old women (but tbh, plus quite a few in their 30's too). Does that just continue up through your 50's and 60's? Or is there a cutoff?

This sounds like PTI’s idea of a romantic third date tbh

When I was 12 I was attracted to mature women. It’s never changed. Nothing like a real woman for lil’ Nate.

Maybe I wasn’t making myself clear, so let me put this in terms that GYEROs of a certain age might understand…

Remember back in the long long ago when you’d go over to a buddy’s house and they had HBO and you’d stay up all night and then you’d see “up next… “Real Sex” (mature audiences only)” and you’d get all hyped and then it’d come on and it was a bunch of naked wrinkly saggy hippies being weird yeah it was like that #gross

1) Can you imagine how f'd up Real Sex would be if HBO made it today?
2) Regarding the naked wrinkly saggy hippies, what if one day I'm attracted to that? Is that possible?

Has there ever been a team in more need of Public Relations training than the US Women's soccer team? Kneeling controversies, disappointing finish in the last world cup, the captain of the team says US fans aren't very smart, and then they go and lose to Mexico last night in a stunning upset.

Back in the days of Mia Hamm, Hope Solo, and Carli Lloyd, them losing hurt about the same as UK losing. Now it seems Karma is catching up with them.

Cats 3.5 dogs tonight, gotta get it done man. Seems we've yet to validate any big win or establish any real momentum.

State riding the SEC's longest winning streak, and Tolu is gonna be a big problem. Seems like the worst possible game for Z, but we shall see.

Great opportunity for another nice Road Q1 resume booster, go take care of fing business. 🤬

I fear #13 frosh guard… dude missed every shot against us in the first game. He can go off tonight.

- Ive gotta think catman was being facetious but it did not read that way.

- We scored what 117 last game? Sounds about like 68 tonight. Hope im wrong obviously because we arent beating them in the 60s or 70s imo.

- We dont NEED Edwards to be the guy he was against Bama we just need him to not suck complete ass like he did 90% of the season so far. Not a tough ask.

As Chris rock said, you are only as faithful as your options. Same goes for who you are attracted to. As your options diminish you begin casting a wider net.

60... 60 is the cutoff. Once you start smelling White Shoulders perfume and baby powder on your "dates", you might as well just shoot yourself, or date younger (if you're wealthy enough)

Some shitdohs:

- BlackBerry movie last night. Surprised but Dennis (from Always Sunny) plays one of the best corporate assholes, ever. It was a perfect casting for the guy he plays.

- Been to one place my entire life that had a topless pool and it was the absolute last people you would want to see topless at a pool. But, a fit older woman with some silver hair will get the occasional glance from me. I appreciate a classic beauty, regardless of age.

- Another sales guy left the last company. They're down to the two guys I hired from the parent company before I left and the lady I brought in to help organize the sales team. It's a dumpster fire and mentor's coaching tree is out there trying to put them out of business.

- Had to take a quick trip to Memphis. I've been through there once before and it's looking ROUGH and much shittier than just 5-6 years ago. The properties were right next to campus and the security guard tells you to GTFO by 5. Yeah man, no problem. It's sad but couldn't get out of there quickly enough.

- On that Memphis note, had a 5:30 am flight out and scheduled an Uber for 4:30. Dude rolls up in a 1990's Sentra with different paint colors and wheels. I open the door and just get hit with the smell of weed and he's playing some baby-making music loud enough to where I was having trouble thinking. We're about a mile outside of the airport and there is a car that is clearly stopped with flashing lights and he's going about 60 before realizing he's about to smash into this car and just jerks over to the right while some other poor asshole shits his pants to clear out of the way.

- Chi is centered with respect the the team right now. Can not do anything about Cal's choices and just want to see the best we have go out and wax like they did Saturday. Will be fun to banter with my Miss St buddy tonight. Just here for the ride.

- Grandma's Boy has reached a level of rewatchability akin to Caddy Shack and Talladega nights for me.

- Wife at offer stage with Neckcar. And coincidentally, just got a promotion. This woman is amazing at her job and she's going to crush it for whoever day in/day out but she also can't tell me what she wants for dinner so this will be fun.

- Waiting on the Curb season to be done and downloadable. A little concerned there haven't been some references to it here.

- All I got. Be back later for the inevitable redass.

- #13 is Hubbard who is a spark plug much like Dilly is. He is a little dude so our bigger guards could affect him again.

- Not having Tre is going to hurt. IIRC he had a big game against this team.

- I’ve always bet these type spreads where an unranked team is favored at home over a ranked team. Felt like they “always” hit. F I hate Vegas, but they aren’t always right and the line moved from 2.5 to 3.5 so I’m hoping like a MFer the trap is set.

Just happy it’s at 7pm.

- Starting to realize why I excelled years ago running expo in restaurant kitchens. When busy AF I’m at my best, on top of every aspect around, making it all work and crush every measure of what success was until the rush was over and it was time to do all other aspects of the job……….you could find me by the dumpster slowly taking out trash and hitting the ol 1 hitter.

The last 2 months I’ve been dragging and going thru the motions as interest rates killed lumber sales and the distillery was killing my ability to focus and move bourbon. But now managing all my wife’s normal stuff, lumber game picking up and refocusing on growing the client list again, bourbon game starting to take off and distillery >< close to finalizing permits and contracts to make that place become a full go!!!!!!!!!!

LFG.

- Must be field trip season as I’ve signed several the past week and have no real clue who goes where. But man field trips were the BEST in elementary and middle school.

Fantastic memories on the bus to Hubers, Derby Dinner, Kentucky Kingdom, museums etc!
