-defense is historically bad and the coach doesn't have the chops to scheme around the deficiency.

-Reed* shouldn't have throw the lob... but he's a kid. 65 yo has been** might think about not calling the exact same play in every similar situation for decades. UK is *easy* to scout
..hof coach my ass.

*lose by 20 if that kid isn't on the floor.

**what he's been is a dude that *only* wins important games when he has a massive talent advantage... great recruiting... but I'd rather have Strokin do the in game coaching. No shit.

-I made a sincere effort to be optimistic this year... a lot of the bitch bus gang did the same. I'd do it again. Fun and optimism>>>>misery/being correct in the first place.

-**** it. BUSH HAMDAN.

Well good news is 90% of the team will be gone so we’ll be ready to restart the cycle of hope and despair in 6 weeks. 6 weeks til we’re back all in!

Yeah let’s start predicting next year:

Rob: Gone - top 10 pick
Reed: Forced into the draft - late lottery
Z: Gone - late first round
DJ: Gone - 2nd round pick
Bradshaw: Gone - undrafted or transfer
Edwards: Gone - undrafted or transfer
Ugonna: Gone- undrafted or tranfer
Adou: test the waters but comes back
Burkes: comes back
Joey Hart: who?

Jay Wright was flat out gushing over the talent we have. In the 2nd half he was calling for Dilly multiple times saying when Dilly gets in their making a run(or something to that affect).

Before Dilly even got in, 13:20 mark in the 2nd, he was already in awe of Reed and that never stopped.

He was glowing over Adou’s plays when he went above and beyond multiple times.

And the guy knew Edwards almost as if he was family with his pride of Philly remarks, and when he tweaked his ankle mentioning he’s from Philly he’ll be fine don’t worry about that.

Do us a favor Jay, because I’d take that slick SOB walking our sideline at any cost.

To add to this he also mentioned when they were killing us with the PnR if it was him he’d try going all small with Adou/Edwards paired with Reeves, Dilly and Reed.

When he said it I remember thinking damn worth a shot………..and it’s that kind of thinking I need from a coach. Got to figure it out and Ike/Gregg or Huff weren’t so big that it was out of the question Adou couldn’t handle it for a short span just to f’ing see!

This isn’t so GD hard!!!

Unbelieveably, I've never watched The Wire, so I'm going to watch two episodes, every time Kentucky plays basketball, and hopefully, by the time I've worked through 5 seasons, Cal will be gone. If not, then I guess I'll have to move on to the Sopranos, which I've also never watched.

This basketball program IS The Waste Management Open...

You need a bucket and you’re down - that’s Dillingham time.

You need a bucket and you’re tied or in the lead- NOT Dillingham time.

Seriously though- you have four brilliant guards and need a bucket, PLAY THEM ALL. Then have Thiero attack a putback.

This should be the easiest play with this team. Don’t even need to draw much up.

In a long history of coaching malpractice, playing Dillingham 18 vs Edwards 28 minutes yesterday might take the cake.

He's just a shitty in game coach.

You're an idiot if you don't think we missed him.

What's maddening yet again, is there's maybe 2 elite teams. UCONN and Purdue. The field is wide ass open, and yet dropping the ball again with an extremely talented roster.

Cal has tried:
Going transfer portal
Going back to 5 star freshmen

Neither plan works anymore. It's over. There's nothing to spin. He's lost it.

Glad to see you’ve finally come around, bro. I know it’s hard for you to admit you’ve been wrong about Cal. Your patience has been admirable. I’m not going to rub it in and if anyone here gets on you, they’re going to have to deal with me.

No chance Z is a first rounder. He’s actually completely useless on the defensive end. I’ve seen 6 years with a better sense of purpose on that end of the court. The fact that he gets minutes in important games is like #661 on the list of coaching mistakes this season.

The one thing Z does well is shoot 3s. So Cal runs him at the top of the key in the pick and roll to the basket on every single screen he sets which clogs up the middle. Rather than have him pick and pop at the top of the key.

With their big being drug away from the basket opening up the middle with driving lanes for our guards with a 3pt option at the top of the key.

But no he is treating Z like he is KAT or Cousins rather than playing to his strengths. He is forcing Z into only post up options. Which also negates our guards strengths. They are driving into clogged lanes because Cal has to have his big down low. No matter the consequence.

Just another observation of his shitty coaching

Appreciate it wildcat friend. Was tough being the last holdout and being the beacon of positivity around here but at a certain point everyone hits their breaking point.

Here is the thing, NONE of them seem like 1st round material at UK, but then they hit Summer League and combines and flourish.

Then they hit the court next November and UK fans see how good they are and wonder How TF. Then after 6 years of that we want him gone but he has already sunk his teeth in.

Time for the amputation, sadly I can’t believe it after what I saw and how excited I was after the McD’s game.

Z is going to have a great career in the NBA.
And I also believe he would have a great rest of his season at UK if used properly.

On April 5, 2015 in Indianapolis, his Wildcats led Wisconsin by four points with five minutes to go, seemingly destined for a title-game collision with Duke and nemesis Mike Krzyzewski. That is, until Calipari effectively deflated the basketball, ordering a team with seven eventual NBA draft picks to play stall ball. “I don’t like this. It ended up in a bad shot last time,” legendary broadcaster Bill Raftery told the television audience, groaning as he watched plodding possessions that mostly ended in hurried, off-balance heaves. Calipari buried his face in his hands as the dream season disintegrated.

• He became less innovative. Gripping the wheel too tightly in that 2015 Final Four loss, incredibly, did not convince him to unleash all that talent. Instead, he clamped down harder. “We used to put in real offense, run real stuff,” the second former staffer said. Calipari famously adopted and popularized the dribble-drive motion offense, which empowered his five-star guards to make plays. But in recent years? “He stopped letting his guys go,” the staffer said.

Calipari’s infamous Two Circle play, often used as a stall tactic, “became our go-to offense,” the second former staffer said. Some European teams run versions of a Circle offense, but with pace and creative wrinkles. Calipari’s version? It was a “meat grinder,” said the third former staffer. “We were running good offense against Wisconsin, went to Two Circle and lost it.”

“Their offense is archaic,” said another. “It’s gotta be the same sh– he was running with the New Jersey Nets.”

-made fried chicken for my SIL's bday last night... corn starch is the key for crunch. Smashed potatoes (boiled with better than bouillon chicken flavor), peas w/onions and shrooms... blue cheese pop-overs.

-needed a pallet cleansing after last night's shit show...so hit the record store. Picked up some: Gong, Lana del Rey, captain beefheart and the Lennon Claypool delirium.

-no real SB plans... have a match at 7 guess I'll catch the 2nd half. Go niners or whatever.

^speaking of the superbowl... Lana Del Rey>>>>Talyor Swift. YMMV.

This is a magnificent song:

Woke up on the wrong side of the couch, apologies. Workout and then watched Argyle with some friends, much better.

Argyle was good if you want an over the top spy movie that is cheesy but funny.

What a f-king straw man argument, "don't blame the players"! If he really believes that, then he is in full blown Hitler's last days bunker mentality. There is no time left, no miracle coming.

Easy for me to say when I'm not the one paying his buyout but everyday he stays a little bit more of UK basketball dies. It's a spiritual thing that binds us to family and friends, the reason we gather at this board. I don't know what the price is on that but when all of us have our collective memory of the same events and we have our stories about game experiences with our Dads, Granddads, Moms and Grandmas, our kids and even non-game stuff like wcc's Dad calling the NCAA, it's worth a whole helluva lot more than $33 million or whatever the buyout is. He's got to go, this year.

I think I saw on here on social that it would only be $8/Kentuckian which I’m positive we could do.

-Buddy back in lex still can’t give up. He said, “pray we make it out of the first round at least.”

I said see that’s a problem, we’re praying to get to the 2nd weekend at UK…
