When we shoot/hit threes we are awesome. Cut leads or go ahead. When we play half court and dribble drive, we are average or suck.

Go full-blown smallball and bomb threes. We finally have legit guards with range, yet we still try to drive and post up way too much. We suck at it.

Dust off Paul Westhead and try to score 150/game.

Calipari’s fingerprints are all over this team now. You can see the smudges. I wish I could tell you those are easy fixes, krazy. But these have been Cal’s kryptonite for a long time.

Care to elaborate? I enjoy your perspective as you see things from a coaches point of view.

Essentially what Chumps just posted, August.

Other coaches know his stuff better than he does. There are no wrinkles or counters or any sort of adaptability. It’s always been: here it comes, I dare you to stop it. In the past, other programs couldn’t stop it. They didn’t have the talent. Now? Different story. Cal won’t change because he either thinks he still has the talent to capitalize on it, or he doesn’t have the acumen to adjust.

Something tells me there must be something else going on behind the scenes and at practice. I’m not close enough to the team to have any idea what that may be. But he’s hell bent on playing guys that just don’t produce as much as others that stay in the bench. I have no idea why.

3 of those plays, unfortunately, were horrible plays by Reed. Whom without we’d probably been down 10 or whatever. Ok .

Lob was the call on two, obviously- but it wasn’t the only call. You don’t make blind timing passes, hoping the route plays out…this isn’t football.

Bad sets/calls given our roster? 100%

Equally (worse) decision making from the PG? 150%

Expected bullshit disaster regardless bc Cal, simple as that? 500%

I just want a college basketball coach that does stuff that makes sense.

That’s all. When a team is crushing you in the post that’s literally when you zone. Sure that team can shoot, but they weren’t! So take away what’s killing you. The zone is legit to takeaway exactly what they were doing.

I know people complain about Edwards but this was his 3rd game in a row I liked his play.

And why even bother with Wagner if you aren’t going to play him? It’s as if now he is mad at him too.

Running that team the whole 2nd half and justifying it by saying they were in a rhythm so Rob and DJ weren’t playing is almost hilarious if it wasn’t real life.

Honestly if Jeff Shepperd told Mitch or anyone else his son is leaving if Cal is still the coach next year, would that help? Jeff has to hate the man! I can’t imagine being a parent to any of these kids hearing Cal’s nonsense and then watching this stuff.

Cal called a timeout before that lob. That was his play. Reed made mistakes. We lose by 20 without his second half. Theiro and reed and Dilly are dogs. Everyone else are as soft as squishy as grandma's apple pie.

If your team can't stop any guard on team from driving to the basket on straight line pick and rolls. Then that's on the coach to make some sort of adjustment. Cal has ran the exact offense and defense since he's been here. It's been wonderful for training guards for the NBA apparently.

It was poorly worded - primarily due to alcohol.

1) I was saying that our second half performance in terms of scoring had nothing to do with Cal. It was all Reed Sheppard having a great 2nd half.
2) I was trying to make myself feel better that perhaps Cal can get it figured out because historically, his teams have been much more consistently good on the defensive side of the ball.

If I'm Jeff Sheppard's dad and my son is playing 37 minutes a game at UK, on billboards all over the state, and is playing like an All-American I'd be pretty damn happy.

Cal is playing chess.
The rest of us just don’t get it.

And that game is the preview of the loss in the 8/9 matchup we gonna have in about 6 weeks.

Unless we in the NIT.

Barnhart should have called his bluff on the UCLA bullshit. Oh fuhreal you may go to UCLA, but if not you, it's Mick F'n Cronin? Let us know what you decide.

I mean how in TF did we get fleeced so badly? It's not even healthy for Cal. If he actually does want to move on, which Tucker's Athletic mailbag all but assured, he almost can't because of what he'd be walking away from financially.

That contract is #2 on Barnhart's biggest miscues, IMO.

1. BCG
2. Cal's Lifetime Contract
3. Joker

I mean, we'll see how this goes. Monetarily speaking and sustained self-inflicted pain-wise, this could usurp the BCG catastrophe. Easy. We're just getting started, bro.

Up for 3:30 feeding. You can point to 100 specific things over the past 5 years, this year, the last month, whatever. Offense. Defense. Xs and Os. In game. Prep. I’ve just come to the conclusion that it’s really no use trying to pinpoint the cause or solution. Whatever he had that made him a great coach- and he sure AF was one - he’s just lost it.

@SAECATFAN made the Crum comp years ago and it’s stuck with me, haunted me. I hoped it was just redass.

This wasn’t an elite Kentucky team, but it’s at worst a Top 5 roster this season. Plenty - PLENTY - of other coaches would have this team as a contender for one seed right now.

I’m exhausted talking about the whys. It’s the who (coach) unfortunately and that ain’t changing this year at least.

Maybe our ridiculously talented guards take us on a fun run. I hope so. God I love watching Reed, Dillingham and Reeves play. Not counting on it.

Good night. Good morning. Another season on the brink.

Obviously it’s not the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s and it is, in fact after all, the X’s and the O’s.

On the post game show Cal once again trotted out his line of “don’t be mad at the kids, be mad at me” bull crap and again that shows how tone deaf he is to the situation. I’m fairly certain that the majority of the fan base isn’t putting the blame on 18-19uo kids, they place it squarely on the shoulders of the 60 something year old man that is coaching them. At least he made an appearance so there is that.

If UofL/Pitino were still chugging along, you can bet Cal doesn’t lose his fastball/speedball… because if the Cards were ruling the ACC, this nonsense would’ve been addressed 3-4 years ago.

Have some buddies at the WMO and that’s a little much lol. Middle-aged dads/moms have to be the most pent up Mfers on earth, because when they go out there is no “laying up” apparently.

Have a feeling some of these people might have messed it up for the future attendees as next year don’t be surprised if there are drink counts or something.

I mean, fist fights at golf? You’re a loser in your golf shoes(likely with spikes in because you never know), polo shirt tucked into your khaki duckheads and visor getting arrested at a PGA event while your mom is watching your kids at home.

Is this the NFL?

What Cal has done with this roster is utter coaching malpractice. Plain and simple. No chemistry between players. If someone is pulling some petty bullshit, kick them off the team. You already have too many players.

One NCAA win since back from Covid.

If Calipari drove Porsches he would be Paul Walker.

Coaching malpractice hmmm, never heard anyone use that term for the 1937th time in the last few weeks, I’ll add that to my repertoire along with the bag and he’s him.

And everything else your post contained was just retreaded bs drivel we’ve heard a million times.

Not aimed at you but I don’t think we all need to regale each other with the same stories of coaching blunders.

The season is toast. Sooner you accept it the easier it’ll be and the less we have to repeat these posts.

The team doesn’t believe in him, the fans don’t either and I’d be willing to say he’s questioning himself this morning.

lol at that upward approach to playing everyone in the 1st then trimming in the 2nd. We have 8 games left before SECT and our dipshit coach can’t figure out a starting lineup / rotation of 7-8 guys.

That ish should be ironed out before the calendar turns and yet he still has no clue who to go with in key stages (Hint: play your 3 best guards together more than a minute and a half a game. Idiot). No surprise we’ve started these recent games and come out in the second half’s in the hole, he doesn’t know what to do with this roster.

Wait and see mode, final four or bust, etc etc

He could have the Steph klay KD warriors and would find a way to **** it up.

It’s not even the roster or lineup management anymore. We all begged for a bigger emphasis on skill and shooting so this fat greaseball went out and put together a ****ing solid modern basketball roster this year. Guards that can shoot. Forwards that can shoot. Hell we even have two 7 footers that were billed as able to shoot. Skill all over the floor.

This is 100% Crumesque game passing you by. It’s been said many times by many of you fine wildcat fans that literally ANY other coach in the country would be wrecking with this roster. Billy Clyde Gillespie would be cruising to a one seed with our jimmy’s and Joe’s. It almost makes me hard imagining what a coach like pitino would do with these guys.

Jay Wright was flat out gushing over the talent we have. In the 2nd half he was calling for Dilly multiple times saying when Dilly gets in their making a run(or something to that affect).

Before Dilly even got in, 13:20 mark in the 2nd, he was already in awe of Reed and that never stopped.

He was glowing over Adou’s plays when he went above and beyond multiple times.

And the guy knew Edwards almost as if he was family with his pride of Philly remarks, and when he tweaked his ankle mentioning he’s from Philly he’ll be fine don’t worry about that.

Do us a favor Jay, because I’d take that slick SOB walking our sideline at any cost.
