Dude… We can’t be reliant on ANYTHING Thiero does. If he does anything positive - great…and I like the effort BUT my Dude is a spaz dickfingered deer in headlights.

Lol. Have another horrific Alabama ‘bourbon’

Who else has a completely blind/ridiculous take about the game, while ignoring the real issues?

I’ll be here all night.

Cal may have this talented and deep of a team, that likely 99% of coaches would immediately trade their team for his, out of the top 25 in mid February… how in the heck is that possible?

lol… you didn’t even try it. Nice try bubba. I suppose my Eagle Rare pick sucked too… GTFOH.🤡

Here’s the take: Few dragged his nuts over Cal’s nose with mediocre bigs driving their shoulders into our pussy 5s. Wow! You people are CRAZY!

It’s only 8pm on a Saturday and about to get testy in here. Pouring my first bourbon.

Not sure what dK is getting at but assume age of the collective group has to play a role.

Looking back, that 53 pt second half was because Reed had an all-timer second half effort. I don’t necessarily think that was coaching. But I have to say, Cal’s problem over the years has been offense. I almost feel like we have a chance to turn this around defensively.

Post game feels different tonight. Matt’s being pretty specific with some of the things he says. Very clear about “we have to make a run,” and named dropped drew a couple of times.

Maybe I’m just on the good hopium tho

I saw defensive improvement. We actually got A stop on the Edwards jumpball play. Better than the 0 we got down the stretch against UT, UF, Kansas, etc. By March we should be able to get at least 2.

Grabbing at straws here, but I'll again float my ideal hypothetical from a year or so ago...

-Cal just decides it's too much, looks for a parachute job.
-It has to be a high-major with a damaged brand, so that he can come in and be the white knight and turn around a program one more time before hanging it up. It also needs to be in a place where he would actually live, but also a place that is less of a pressure cooker. It needs to be a place where there is booster/NIL support, but not in a way that interferes with how he wants to run things.
-The landing spot needs to be a diminished Power Five program that desires to be relevant again. It has to be a place that needs immediate juice, a place that will overlook the past few years as simply Cal staying at Kentucky too long, and believes that he just needs a fresh start.
-There is still a place that meets those criteria, and that place will most likely be looking for a coach after this season. That place is Southern Cal. Enfield is cooked. They're transitioning to the Big Ten. It's the perfect time to begin a new era with a new coach that will put people in seats and give them an immediate jolt of relevance again. And they've got the pockets to make it happen, if they really want to.
-Cal can get kids there. Cal can get the NIL there. Cal would live in L.A. Cal would get paid there. And Cal could simply blend into the L.A. sports scene, where his every move isn't scrutinized to the same degree. He'd still be nationally relevant because it's a national brand moving into a basketball conference. And he could win.

Again, five percent chance. And it's probably just wishful thinking. But that's the scenario that could work.

I’ll never give up. I’m a fan.

Despite Cal’s incompetence, I love this group. But the defense is just too much…save a miracle F4 run, I’m under no delusions about the team’s limits, especially given who’s on the sideline.

This Cal lover narrative is lmao. Been up his ass for a decade like everyone else, and before most of my friends who are now wayyyy beyond my hopelessness.

I just loved these guys, a little too much — and we see an improbable run by MUCH less talented teams happen almost annually. And without question, that’s *exactly* what it Would take…a miracle run. 😕. That’s sad & pathetic in & of itself.

I’ll still be strapped & ready come NCAAT time, and i tried to be a contrarian, hopeful, & positive voice in a sea of redundant (deserved) GYERO shit in the meantime…./done

Up to Vern or Chad now. Go Kate go Krogering.

Michigan and UCLA may be similar possibilities too.

Go back to small ball, call it a tweak or whatever but get these guys back to how they played in November-December. Sit the bigs. Bradshaw should be told he is done for the season. Spot minutes. I’d rather have Skal than Beetlejuice-looking Bradshaw. 7 foot of pure suck and won’t last 3 years in the NBA.

Shepherd
Reeves
Dillingham
Thiero
Mitchell (healthy?)
Wagner
Edwards
UGO and Z spot minutes. Let Z shoot the three at the top of the key ala Novak from Marquette back in the day.

I’d rather see this team shoot 30 three pointers than the clogged up trash we are getting now.

All of this talk about 7 NBA players on this team and I just don’t get it. Rob is, IMO, the only sure fire pro. Sheppard is smart enough so maybe and possibly Z because I think he could possibly translate to the NBA. Other than that I wouldn’t bet on any of them getting anything more than a cup of coffee in the League.

After the Canadian trip this summer everyone knew we could score and unselfish with the ball.
How difficult was it to see that the defensive side was the weaker side of this group?

They look like they don’t know how to play simple team defense. 3-4 guys chasing the same player after a single handoff up top. Always shading inside leaving the corner 3 open. Wide open layup on OB defense. The list just seems to have no end.🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m not even going to get into rebounding and loose balls.🤦🏻‍♂️

My hope is that it starts to click. What we are bad at is so basic I honestly rack my brain trying to understand how it’s the struggle at this point.

PnR defense
Basic rebound positioning
On ball defense

Situational offense

3/4 are honestly easy or should be easy fixes.

The last thing I’ll say that I am hopeful for is that this group has that urgency when a tournament style begins to realize the end is here if they don’t play up. We’ve seen so many times in years past teams get that run and I could see it with this group because the talent is here.

Calipari’s fingerprints are all over this team now. You can see the smudges. I wish I could tell you those are easy fixes, krazy. But these have been Cal’s kryptonite for a long time.

The only thing that’s going to change is the rotation and who’s playing with who. It’s like Whack-A-Mole out there. No rhyme or reason. Just grab a guy (if he’s available of course) and sit another. I mean, there’s nothing left to say. The dude just can’t coach from the sidelines. That’s always been the tragic flaw. Great at everything else. It’s maddening.

Just took the wife and kid to Peter Shields Inn for a spectacular birthday meal. I want to send the tab to Cal. I put on a pleasant face, engaged in conversation, and sang HB… perfectly hiding my disgust and rage.

Thanks, cocksucker.

I mean would you have even believed this was possible after our road win in Gainesville?

I can’t believe how bad of a coach he is.

I mean I know what I and I’d imagine 99% of BBN would do - tighten the rotation (the four guards, Thiero, Mitchell and Z/Ugo) and just build chemistry on D.

Won’t happen- and even if he did, he’d play the wrong combinations.

Dude lost it awhile ago and it ain’t coming back. His own worst enemy.
