Maybe I’m a sanctimonious bitch, but I’m not interested in having a woman beater as coach here.

-give this man a harumph.

-everything has been said about Cal/state of the program... not gonna repeat.

^will say that ukbb is now a pastime and used to be a passion. Is what it is.

-Costco date night Friday. Dinner was <7 bucks. $284 dollars in goods/sundries later... all planned/no impulse purchases.

^I have enough aluminum foil, ziplocks and parchment paper to last for 2 years.

-pregame dinner at the Lexington Club saturday... hadn't been in years. Really cool old school vibe. Typical country club food... good, but not remarkable.

-congrats, wcc. Us girl dads need to stick together. I'll try not to call you a libtard henceforth.

-speaking of: segunda is graduating from HS a year early and is leaning towards UK... has a while to make her decision, but if I were betting man...

^the entire reason we had em 5 years apart was to have 1 at a time in undergrad... between Viv's covid year and Stella graduating early... that plan is blown to shit. God/the universe laughs at man's plans atkot.

-sun's out, gang. Giddyup.

Her name was Randi. I can't stress this enough that none of these are my words- its what she actually said in the aftermath.

She later claimed that Beard was acting in self-defense and that he never strangled her, stating "As Chris' fiancé and biggest supporter, I apologize for the role I played in this unfortunate event. I realize that my frustration, when breaking his glasses, initiated a physical struggle between Chris and myself. Chris did not strangle me, and I told that to law enforcement that evening. Chris has stated that he was acting in self-defense, and I do not refute that. I do not believe Chris was trying to intentionally harm me in any way. It was never my intent to have him arrested or prosecuted."

Obviously UCL was not aware that she broke his glasses before he villainized Beard

-people say a lot of stuff if their source of "lifestyle" is threatened.

-walk the **** away if a woman "instigates"... maybe don't date crazy chicks. Beard is a dirtbag.

Guys- i'm more than aware of what happens with victims and statements throughout the process... I think most of us probably understand he was probably under the influence and that led to whatever the hell happened and we can probably all assume it wasnt the first time thats occured with him and a woman... And none of that will likely have any impact on Beard's career. He was unemployed for like 90 days. And if he does well at Ole Miss- he will move on to a bigger job and then slowly the people that say "But wasnt Beard accused of this..." are replaced with "Can you believe how Beard turned around Ole Miss?"

Yeah, what you say is true, UNLESS he gets drunk and fights with his fiancee again. If it wasn't his first time, we can probably all assume it won't be his last...

It’d be nice if someone with some balls and clout in Lexington neutered MilqueToast if/when there’s a next coaching search. He deserves to have no say whatsoever in who would replace Cal after bending over and giving that man a lifetime contract.
They should do a committee search that includes Pat Riley. I’d like them to take a hard look at Lloyd and Sampson. If this is Mitch’s hire alone, he’ll probably do the safe thing and hire his buddy Drew who I’m not enthralled with.

I don’t think his upside is as high as those other two I listed and Pope may be in that group as well. Drew seems squeaky clean but people forget he got them put on probation for 3 years and was suspended two games and tried to get the folks involved to lie to the NCAA for him. There were also the issues related to Perry Jones. If he’s going to be considered, then Pearl should too.

He’s been at Baylor since 2003 and has missed the NCAA tournament 8 times there. 4 of which were his first four years there where he was building them back up after a major scandal. But that’s still 4 other years he didn’t make the tourney (that’s worse than Tubby).

What Kentucky has done the last 4 years, it can do on auto-pilot, just through the natural momentum of the program alone, so I'm not sure it matters WHO they might hire, if you're worried about dropping even further. But there are scores of coaches that UK could get, that could do better. I'm positive of that.

Besides the obvious, another bummer about this going south is we’ll lose some (most?) of the Cal players. Would’ve been great if he retired at the peak, or if he went out with a good year this year, and we could milk a good number of these NBA dudes for $$$ after the playing days end.

But alas.

Playing devils advocate exactly what is it you want then? If half of the NCAA can be better explain that.

For 2 years he focused on defense, upperclassmen and half court offensive execution. Then we wanted more 3’s and up pace basketball ie NBA style.

So now he gives us more 3’s and up paced basketball and we HATE it.

When discussing a possible replacement we want a solid upstanding citizen with no personal flaws, apparently. Hmmmmm, in this sport?

Look I get the knock on Beard and as Clark said I understand the typical back pedaling from the accuser but we don’t know. Should Beard have been smarter? Yes but you don’t know he wasn’t defending himself and she was the aggressor. Guess we forgot BBC. She was also a coach and didn’t want a full story to go public either so she wasn’t just covering for Beard.

Anyway, personally I have no interest in Drew or Oats. Pearl has been in it too long for me to consider, and I can’t think of a better candidate than Beard and he is at Ole Miss and easily obtainable.

I’ll bet you this, if UL has any sense and goes after Beard(they’d get him) everyone will not be happy come next season!

There is absolutely no one out there who is a guaranteed slam dunk. It’s a pretty weak crop of coaches out there in the CBB world, TBH.

The closest thing to a slam dunk for UK is retired, so you would have to lure him w/ a nice chunk of change and a house in a gated community, and not where you are filmed by your wife taking the herbies to the street. He's only 62 so he isn't going anywhere for a bit. He's easily #1 if UK wants to start climbing the ladder again, but he may not want to put up w/ the NIL/portal nonsense.

If losing a lot has taught us anything it should be……Just win baby! I don’t give a shit what he does in his spare time as long as he beats UT, UNC, Kansas and UL on the reg and gets us to the FF.

So you mean Cal circa 2009. We need the guy that told UL that they didn’t want any not the I can’t hide you guy.

Enough teasing, here are your shitdohs:

- 9 years into marriage and forgot the anniversary. We do inexpensive gifts and don't usually make a big deal about it but got damn did I feel about 1 inch tall when she brought home a sixer and a card and she looks at me and realizes my dipshit husband forgot.

- In a move of redemption, we tried City Grille and Raw Bar in d'town Jax. Had Elk for the first time and forever a huge fan. The raw oysters were gigantic and delicious. They'll go out of business with this redneck clientele but great spot while it lasts.

- Pool digging in 2 weeks. Giddy AF and should be poolside around the time the Cayuts bounce from the NIT.

- Brady's post about a coach having rottweilers reminded me of the time my buddy insisted on going to the Magic City skrip club and the bouncer telling us to GTFO because we're not the right tan. There is forever an association between rotties and Master P in my brain. No one made them cooler.

- Jacksonville just now requires you to enter the 3 digit area code. Can't imagine how many necks melted down trying to figure that one out. We're a simple people down here. Please stop messing with us.

- Literally avoid the grocery store like it's a job. I hate it. I hate being there hungry and I hate being there full. But, needed to husband up on Saturday and lol that every default price is $5.25.

- The new bougy neighbor was outside yesterday drying her 160 lb dog with a leaf blower. Dude was loving every second of it.

- Wife got to meet and cut up with John Henry last week. Had no idea who he is but now it makes sense with him coming in to possibly save Monahan. They have a history at Fenway Sports Group. He's got that f-you money that you can just tell someone yeah, I'll drop a billion on this and we'll hope it works out.

- Mbappe going to Real Madrid. Bellingham is the new phenom and is a midfield freak. Those two are going to be fun to watch if you like the futbol.

- Part of Wyndham Clark's 60 at Pebble was saving bogey the hard way. Believe he also set a Tour record of fewest feet of putts.

- I have over 20 gigs of pictures and videos of doors. To this day, there has never been a better picture of a door than THE door. I miss that excitement and want it back.

- Someone mentioned and not calling anyone out about NIL killing CBB. Make no mistake, that death could be closer than we think and it's going to fall 100% on the NCAA. Rick isn't wrong with what he said. They failed for decades to demonstrate any meaningful value to college athletics. Unfortunately, they still have a lot of control in how things roll out from here so the longer they're involved, the more CBB circles the drain.

- Time to f-off back to work.

-It’s not necessarily don’t date crazy chicks, every now and then you need that reminder that the good girls are a much better route.

The REAL lesson is never date a woman named Randi. That name alone screams trailer park trouble.

And the parents that named a daughter Randi are also not who to which you hitch your wagon.

-Ranked 17, 😤 but deserved.

-You’re speaking with a genuine College Applicant right here gang. Had to apply to St Pete College to apply to the EMT —>Firefighter Program. #NonTraditionalStudent

Of course there’s still health shit to figure out how far I can go with it.

T-Minus 9 Days

-Love the grocery store personally.

-Zoom court Monday @1500. I moved 1000 miles away, good gracious. 🙄

At F’ing Baylor.

And when people bring up Oats, allow me a preemptive “at F’ing Bama.”

You can’t put UK standards on accomplishments at some of these schools.

If the Devil's advocate thinks that is an accurate representation of what has gone on here for the last 5 or 6 years, and not just disingenuous reductionism, then the Devil ALSO made a piss poor hire.

Sometimes you can look at a guy, and even if he doesn't have UK standard wins and championships, you just know he has "it."

Like Nate Oats. And Mike Woodson, for example.

Riley can’t be part of the process because he knows he’d lose Spoelstra to us, per another poster.

The only time I’ve seen Riley talk about UK is when he was talking about wing there and playing. I doubt he has much interest in who’s hired here 50 years after he played seeing that he’s rarely apart of the program now.

He’s lived in LA and Miami the majority of his life since then I bet you could count on one hand how many times he’s been to Lexington since then.

Sure it would be great to have his mind involved but not if he couldn’t give a care.

I don’t understand why people continually bring up Pat Riley in regards to doing anything within the athletic department. When was the last time that he had anything to do with us in a public forum? He has about much sway, and should have about as much input, as I do.

Doesn’t have to be Riley but someone like Pratt who’ll take the bull by the horns. Not sure anyone fits that bill anymore. Maybe Goose?

Again, what is it you want? I’m with ya now, let’s move on from Cal and ignore the cost.

What is it you want? It would seem you think just anyone would be better.
