Being that terrible should bar rounding up. It's undeserved. Round down and really rub it in.
Odds are that post is fake but it's pretty easy to get caught up in the competitiveness of kids sports. I certainly have more than I thought I would. Trying to instill team work, dedication, and competitive nature while setting them up with good fundamentals for whatever sport/sports they pick is a fine line. That being said, I'm pretty anxious excited to be finishing up the last season of coaching my oldest.2 years off before on to the next one.
I remember that one. I walked over to the game carrying my 3-year old son on my shoulders, and then stopped by the tailgate after the game. He's now 22 and getting ready to graduate college. 😧

- I thought is was common knowledge that while Lee Harvey took three shots, Kennedy was accidentally shot by a Secret Service agent as he pulled his gun up.
- We had an opposing indoor soccer parent screaming louder than I’ve ever heard at a kid’s game on Saturday and it was mean-spirited stuff to his son. Everyone felt terrible for the kid. Usually that gets a big ol’ eye roll because the kids can’t hear you through that glass anyway. But this guy had taken the usually closed off stairs to the mezzanine level and was screaming down from 12’ up on high.

- Family Organization w/ lite tech voodoo seems like a ripe small business market for your techy and industrious high schoolers and/or college kids out there. It’s a big need with a dead simple and low overhead solution.

I went 1-10 FT at the original GYERO-lympics, and threw the ball at the backboard as hard as I could for the final 3 or 4 shots. Geese Wodie and Richie just laying into me. The rims were tight!!!
That was a super fun day btw. Gamesmanship and trash talk off the charts. Willy pulled his hamstring. Pope got pissed at everyone’s pull-ups. Capped the day off at Bonzo’s pool and going out in the Highlands.

Ever since that goof ball got married in Gatlinburg it’s been all down hill.
No reason we can’t run it back this summer. Could have two separate events - one skill and one tests-of-strength. A champion crowned in each then an overall champ with the highest combined score.
The Nation is under new management so wouldn’t be a problem scheduling the post-game festivities around Caddy Day (1:00-1:15).
At this age tho the odds of everyone getting out after an all-day affair of that nature are as slim as Coen’s desire to be here.
You left out the part where you made me go to Seneca with you the day before in 98 degree heat to practice free throw shooting on those rims.

I get it. The Seneca Park rims and backboards are composed of a rigid blend of steel, some element that has yet to be discovered, and anger.

To 73’s credit he was on fire during our “practice session”. He couldn’t miss. Automatic like Lil Shep.
Then during the actual GYEROLYMPICS event he goes ice cold. It got in his head. He at one point demanded that we get a ladder and measure to make sure they are 10 feet tall.
The best part is was he wouldn’t let it go for anything.
All damn day, even well after the event, he kept talking about the rims. At the post celebraish at The Nation telling anyone who would listen and then well into the evening at O’Sheas talking to the lassy bartender and even the bouncer at the door.

An old friend sent a hard photo of me driving down the left side of the court vs. Bobby Perry in an old Barnstorming Tour game from about 17 years ago. Hilarious. You couldn't do a Barnstorming tour these days because a) we don't have "eligible" seniors and 2) no body is going to line up to see Grant Darbyshire and Brennan Canada . . . no offense.
Meanwhile, back in 2007(?), I'm playing in a local event against 3 of the 5 starers on UK's basketball team. I was 6'5, 200 in those days and still sorta in shape. Not saying this to brag, but I looked as much of a UK player as Perry. That's more of an indictment on the roster's talent level from then to now. It's night and day. Kinda puts things in perspective when I bitch about the small things.
