Declare it a no contest, deal with the fallout for that, prepare for Sundays games best you can.

That scenario probably hurts the Bengals more than the Bills, but it’s the right thing to do.

That absolutely hurts the Bengals, who would get a first round bye with a win.

I don't see a problem with playing 5 days apart either.

One of my Dad's wise old buddies shared this on Facebook and I thought of gyero.

There's a point where you can give up on winter - when temptation can enter your soul, prying its way in like cold air through the cracks in your cabin - around January 16th or so, and this can make you realize that February's coming, and beyond February, March. For all practical purposes, save for a few blizzards, March will be it. April will come rushing on and winter will be over.

See, I don't yet realize that March will be the hardest month. Early February's the coldest, and often the snowiest, but March, strange, silent March, will be the hardest.

The danger in yielding to thoughts of spring - green grass, hikes, bare feet, lakes, fly fishing, rivers, and sun, hot sun - is that once these thoughts enter your mind, you can't get them out.

Love the winter. Don't betray it. Be loyal. When the spring gets here, love it, too - and then the summer.

But be loyal to winter, all the way through - all the way, and with sincerity, or you'll find yourself high and dry, longing for a spring that's a long way off, and winter will have abandoned you, and in her place you'll have cabin fever, the worst.

The colder it gets, the more you have to love it.

Winter: Notes from Montana, Rick Bass

-Will the game decide if any team is in/out or is strictly seeding? I think you move on.

-One of the strangest things ever. It was immediately obvious there was a real issue. I guess they were all scrambling but putting Booger on there seemed like a really bad way to handle it.

-People chastising the vaccine crowd = the people screaming about vaccines. Same crew, different colors. Scroll past.

-Rebooting House Party, part of me is intrigued, the rest knows it's going to be a shameful follow up to one of my favorite 90's movies. Starring Anthony Davis(as himself) and LeBron James(as himself). FFS. 🙄 It's going to be terrible.

-Man, I just can't wait for an 8p game at Rupp tonight!!

-Skip Bayless is disgusting. Not just for that dumb comment, I mean in general. He just looks disgusting.

* Got the inside scoop on Hamlin last night from a buddy who posts here and lives in the Cincinnati area. He was getting live, real-time texts from people in the know, in the hospital, one who said Hamlin had passed, and another who claimed he was well and breathing on his own. Great or terrible news, but glad we now know 100% for sure. Please keep this in GYERO.

* YouTube wormhole #1 = Soft White Underbelly (Appalachia series). Manchester, Kentucky. Yikes.

* YouTube wormhole #2 = Chad & JT Go Deep

Yeah, it's probably played out, but those dudes crack me up. "Yo, what up, council?"

* Checked in on Pornhub over the weekend, and per Louisiana state law, there's a new login requirement where you have to verify your age, linking the porn site to your office state online drivers license portal.

Nope.
Nope.
And NOPE.

Anyone still got their dad's Playboy collection, Sears catalogs, the Christina Aguilera Maxim, or a Laserdisc of Basic Instinct? Ugh. Life isn't f'ing fair.

* We simply cannot lose tonight, or to USC next week -- especially given that we're a lock to get smoked at Tennessee and at Alabama.

* I get a lot more pissed off at the coach that I do the players for the shortcomings of the team.

- I'm not mad that Jacob Toppin isn't the next Kevin Durant, I'm mad the Cal doesn't have him standing within 5 feet of the basket the entire game (where he's a savage)
- I'm not mad that Sahvir Wheeler can't shoot a lick, I'm mad that Cal doesn't have him drive and dish to our 2 best snipers

Put these guys in a position to succeed (and proceed) Cal. Shouldn't be that hard.

* Last night was a great reminder that the NFL's "safety measures" are mostly bs. They'll throw a flag when a d-lineman accidentally bumps in the quarterback, but the plays that are really wrecking these guys bodies mostly go unnoticed, and often look harmless.

* Top 5 Chris Knight songs....

1> Rural Route
2> It Aint Easy Being Me
3> Crooked Road
4> Hard Edges
5> Enough Rope

* Congrats, I guess?

Unless Missouri Gov. Mike Parson grants clemency, Amber McLaughlin, 49, will become the first transgender woman executed in the U.S. She is scheduled to die by injection Tuesday for killing a former girlfriend in 2003.

* That Tulane game was bonkers, and it's great to see a traditional power melt down in such fashion.

- give up a 70+ yard TD drive in 2 plays
- fumble the ensuing kickoff out of bounds at the 1
- tackled for a safety
- give up a TD in < 1 minute for the loss

Enjoy your $11 million salary, Linc.

* I don't care who disagrees --> gimme a 2-fer-1 happy hour and a meat-and-3 at Ramsey's East High Diner right now. $1 beers when the fire truck rolls by, too. Those were the good ole days.

* Went to the fairgrounds race track on New Year's Day (owned by Churchill), and won a bunch of pretty low risk bets. Big W was on a tri box which included the 1 horse "Lil Wodie," named in honor of our friend BBdK. Lil Wodie and friends came thru for me, which was a mortal lock.

Loved that place. Dark, crowded, local watering hole that served good food. The fried chicken with gravy, mashed potatoes, cream corn and apples was my go to there back in the day. Plus it was always fun drinking with the midget until he fell off of his stool which meant it was time to go.

Frank Thomas aka "The Big Hurt."

How in the world can this guy not get a better gig than selling non FDA-approved boner pills?

Well, he UKO'd the first wife to eventually marry the one he was UKO'ing with so maybe he's the perfect face for boner pills.

Gotta be doing pretty well. He had his own Big Hurt logo'd private jet at the Field of Dreams game. Not something you see with the average retired HOF player.

Winner of the game gets the #2 seed(as long as the Bengals beat the Ravens). So if they do nothing the Bengals get to play in Buffalo if the 2/3 match up.

That game should be played on a neutral field and leave the game alone. I’m sure the NFL will just throw the Ravens game and that solves everything.

If there was ever a game to bet on it’s the Ravens/Bengals.

There it is. You have probably had this type out since week 1 just waiting on a chance to use it. The only problem is that the play last night was not reckless, not illegal. Would you have felt better had they thrown a flag? Would that have helped Hamlin? Chances are that he has taken hits equal to or worse than this throughout the year. It was a fluke incident, and we don't know and will likely never know the reason this happened to his heart.

In other words...you continue to be clueless.

UKO just argued with me about something we AGREE on.

The NFL flags harmless plays to pretend they care about safety, when so many players get hurt on plays that seem completely harmless.

Happy as hell to be clueless.....😇😇😇

- Have always and will always appreciate the intimacy of winter, being tucked into a crowded bar or restaurant with other people while it’s cold outside. Missed that over the past couple years.

- For our sanity and well-being, BBN and the team, tonight is a must win. It’s time to get some momentum going. We’re going to have to scrap just to get into the tournament.

- Can we stop with the scarlet letter bullshit? It’s a sports message board. Just hide the dude if you hate him.

- Cracks me up coming in here and running smack dab into some nutso rightwing talking point about nonsense like a Disney movie. Some of you idiots not only are well aware of a particular Disney cartoon plot and its box office numbers but also overjoyed it apparently didn’t do well. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ I had never even heard of that movie. Where do you all even hear about this shit, let alone grab onto such outrage?

F’ing loons.

Ok, groomer.

* The Moscow Murders are absolutely nuts. Biggest true crime story since OJ? The suspect is supposed to be waving his extradition hearing so they can send him to Idaho. Once he's in Idaho, they are supposed to release the probable cause affidavit that should detail how they caught him.

Bonkers that anyone thinks they can get away with a high profile murder in 2023.

* 🤣 at cricket thanking chief for his service.

* Opening your inbox after a holiday is utterly gut-wrenching. Just pure dread.

* I can't imagine we beat LSU by ten tonight. We might not even win.

Blowing out Louisville doesn't mean that we are suddenly good.

* I've been slaying Torbert's orange corn grits as a side lately. My wife is going super low carb and cheese grits are an easy side for me to pair with whatever she cooks for her.

It's the most recent Disney+ release. I have 2 kids. We watch all the new releases for movie time. Hell, pixar has put out several of my favorite movies the past 5-6 years. The movie tried way too hard. I thought Lightyear handled a similar situation in a much better manner. Not exactly outraged or planning to; boycott the mouse, have a hollow virtuous yard sign made, add a specific color porch light for the victimized, put another countries flag on my house, or anything like that. We were just discussing a movie that sucked.

Gawleee, you can't handle any criticism of woke culture can you? Good ol woke chad.

Sickface:

*Great weekend in Nashville.

Friday night we got after it, hard. Three bars then ended up at Kid Rock's place because the daughter of one of the guys that went dates the head "sound guy" or whatever. No line for us VIP's!

Saturday 4 of us went to the football game and left at halftime. We knew how that was ending and wanted to catch some of the BB game. Hit up a bar, had a few, watched BB and some of the Alabama game.

Saturday night we stayed in the rental and celebrated NYE while watching CFB, gambling, and listening to music. A few of us stayed up to almost 5 am.

Sunday, got after it again. Found a table on a rooftop bar and spent 8 hours or so there. Felt more like 20.

Yesterday was the death drive home. Felt like puking and/or passing our multiple times
