Crazy to remember that this team had the Bahamas trip and a huge head start practicing, and it's the oldest team Cal has ever had. There's a lot of possible things that could've gone wrong this year but "we don't know how to play together or what we're running" makes absolutely no sense.
Cal got a big head start ruining them.

Well according to Mags on the pregame, at least I’m pretty sure it was todays pregame, we aren’t going to find anyone who would do a better job than Cal. Whatever the hell that meant.

I could be wrong, I was pretty much drunk the last 12 years, and correct me if I’m am, but it’s been 8 years since we have been to a Final Four. The last real shot we had was the Fox/Bam/Monk team and just when we thought it was bad that the two Bruce’s knocked his ass out of the Tourney the last 2 years happen. Now this start to the season. Yep, gonna be hard to find someone to match that success.

I don’t enjoy watching Kentucky basketball anymore. Not exactly sure how to process that.
It’s really bad. Neither myself nor my wife- both UK alums and big fans- even really considered turning the game on after finding out how it was going. We weren’t surprised, weren’t upset just… disappointed.

It’s not fun anymore. It’s supposed to be fun.

Broken record but we're just so damn predictable. Meaningless weave, let us run it and double the post when we force it in there. On defense, we'll definitely be M2M so spread us out, switch us out as needed until we give you a favorable matchup.

Maddening.

I’m reaching Tubbys last year of apathy point, and it’s going to be hard to come back from. Who cares about next years class if this is the offense they’re going to run. How much talent does he need? This team has everything including experience, I’m just bewildered with how bad we are.

“look you wanted a tougher schedule, we’ll this is what happens. Now we go back to practice and figure some things out. We do a lot of good, but we have to limit what we do bad………you know it’s early still so we have a lot time to figure it out. I think we’ll figure it out!”

Coach Cal tomorrow

Next meaningful game is in two weeks. We're gonna be in at least December looking for our first win that matters.

It's been a metaphorical root canal for years. I pretty much hate everything UK sports right now except Stoops.

Calipari is a GD cartoon at this point. It's a f*cking mystery to me; how he's still hauling in top notch talent.

And Mitch is a goddamned idiot. He's managed to f*ck up what I thought was essentially unf*ckupable: UK Basketball.

I mean, think about that. How bad do you have to be at your m-fvcking job to ruin something with the momentum of UK basketball?

It would cost 90 million to fire Cal after a 9-16 season, lose to St. Pete and the start to this year. To be in this position with any coach, under any scenario is unforgivable.

It baffles me how some of you think Mitch is a quality AD. He’s a f’n goof ball.
How many times must I point out the successes of our Women’s basketball and Men’s baseball teams or how highly we have scored the last few years in the AD’s Cup (or whatever the hell it is called) before you all get it? It isn’t just about football and basketball, geesh.

Im amazed with the talent it has gotten to this point, never could have dreamed it. The guy may leave UK with a final four drought longer than Tubby and one national championship. I know he wants to stay and get that second, i have been on board with thinking he would do it, but now i think its highly unlikely. And he and the media and his kids can spin it anyway they want but with the perfect match John Calipari was for Kentucky it will have been a failure. Good luck John, you make the big bucks to figure it out but it certainly does not look like you will.

-BS, we have plenty of talent. We weren't outmatched in that department. In fact I think we had a significant talent advantage vs MSU. Closer vs Gonzaga but not much. It's mismanagement.

-Here we are again, with an extremely experienced/talented team in November, and f*cking ourselves for March.

-Last night was embarrassing. Gonzaga isn't even that good and they played like shit. Yet, I never thought we had a chance. If they didn't have 20 turnovers we would've lost by 30.

-I don't get it, man. Just little shit, that a basketball idiot(like me), can see. Spread the court, don't let Timme catch the ball 25' from the basket and get a full head of steam before you try to guard him, have guards crash the boards to help Oscar. Took him allowing Oscar to get 4 fouls before they put Toppin on Timme, which actually slowed him down. Lol. Took both Wheeler and Oscar getting four to actually start running offense.

Who needs an offensive philosophy update more, Stoops or Cal?

-Fact is, breaking up with Cal is going to be really messy. It just is. But something has to change or it's a reality we'll have to face. His big notable accomplishments are getting close to a decade old and the last decade isn't acceptable.

-Football Team showed some grit and signs of life Saturday. Need to build on that. D looked back to their old self. A lot of old guard will have their last game at CW Saturday. Need to leave it all out there.

-Go get Liam Cohen back.

-Aside from our sports teams getting waxed, and the apathy associated with it, great to get the crew back together. Both generations catching up all day and late into the evening was really fun. Little guys piled into a bedroom sleeping on every flat surface available. Old folks had a few too many cocktails and stayed up way too late. House is a wreck but what a fun day.

-Only proof there is a sports god is Tennessee finally losing. Don't like to see Hooker blow his knee out but glad that ride is over.

-World Cup should make for some nice background noise over the next month.

-Wife uses car = you spending the next month trying to get all the settings back to normal.

But he is a quality AD…

… ANTI DRINKING (at sports venues unless you’re rich)

How many “good shooters” have to blow before we realize it’s Cals philosophy and offense?

-what's this "we" shit. Some of us realized that quite a while back.

-watched the first half at English Jay's during dinner, headed home at halftime...did not watch the second half. As UCL alluded to..."this is not fun anymore". I am not a masochist.

~ There was no urgency. Down 18, cut it to 5 and they just played like they were in complete command. Zags lead swells back to double digits and you didn't see a difference in play.

~ Press worked effective early and yet the rationale for when we use that or not I guess depends on if Cal remembers you're allowed to do so?

~ Have to think elite players or their handlers will start to see that they regress in Cal's offense (lol)? Or the ineffectiveness of our NIL game is overblown and they're fine to take the coin for a few months and bounce, winning be damned.

~ Defense is going to be the catalyst to retaining the Governor's Cup. Masterful performance Saturday that won't get the national recognition it deserved. Expecting that side of the ball to hang double digits on the scoreboard.

~ Their run D is pedestrian at best. Even with Levis essentially a statue and our Oline a mixed bag, we're going to rack up 200+ on the ground.

~ Waiting with bated breath on the peanut butter cup results, and all the insults, name calling and sabotaging that would go down with such a heated, highly debated contest.

~ 77" of snow in Buffalo 🤯 Completely get the struggle to move away from your hometown or a great paying job, but a weekend like this past up there and it'd be a Jed Clampett exodus, figure it out later.

“‘They were imposing their will on us,’ Calipari said. ‘We talked about it for two days: We have to impose our will on them or you won’t win this game. And we didn’t do it.’

Again, that’s not some nebulous, toughness-based idea. Play harder is not the caveman-simple solution. Gonzaga played better because Gonzaga played smarter. The Zags had a viable plan, and it sure looked like Kentucky didn’t. For Calipari, who constantly preaches accountability for his players, to circle back to the idea that Tshiebwe’s month recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery is the primary reason for that is patently absurd.”

Tucker held his punches back, and still dunked on Cal over his ridiculous excuses for the problems he creates.
