I like Matt's Cats' Randoms but "Wonderful Christmas Time" making that list? I like the Sinatra and Bing stuff but my family was always a Perry Como Christmas family. My Papaw on my Mom's side, a devout New Haven, Nelson County Catholic, always said Vince Lombardi and Perry Como went to Mass everyday and they were men who had their priorities straight.
Don't really care who sings it but I'll listen to just about any version of "Carol of the Bells" and "O Holy Night".

Anth… I was actually going to attend no matter what the weather was doing but had to attend and speak at my uncle’s funeral mass. I didn’t see much of the game except for the 4th quarter. Carry on.

-I'm not ready to say uk has hit a ceiling. Shitty hires happen as does complacency...our margin of error is still razor thin. Can't afford either.

-the complacency is what bothers me most, but it's human nature.

-the OC not adjusting to his team's strengths is baffling as well. Trying to force a fairly complicated offense on college kids is one thing...not adjusting after it's clearly not working is inexcusable.

^if that guy is here next year, I won't renew season tickets.

You don’t understand BBN
Still waiting for my apology for this low blow...

LWC with a great W against their former coach and Georgetown College. Pick 6 to seal the deal in the last seconds. Great to see all the guys, the ATs were not happy to see me because they're petty bitches ::Shoulder Shrug::

Might've even made sex with a 22 year old a couple times. She laughed because I graduated high school before she was born, she was less than 1 when 9/11 happened. ::mind-blown::

Glad bball season has started because I just don't have any more getting up for this fball team left in me. Just beat UL and get this season over with, honestly probably barely pay attention to whatever meaningnless bowl we get in.

Couple of issues w/this recap:
Bullitt East was the higher seed and the higher ranked team - not sure why that makes it an upset.
Bullitt East player that returned the kickoff had a foot in the endzone which should have immediately killed the play....should have been Bullitt East ball at the 20 but I'm not saying that they wouldn't have won the game. That's why I think going for 2 twice made sense. Eagan is a bad ass QB.
On the 4th and 5 play for the TD you left out the fact that the QB threw a backwards pass to the LEFT FREAKING TACKLE who threw the TD pass.

It was indeed a crazy ending. Following that up by going to the UK game on Saturday absolutely sucked. Only thing that salvaged the weekend was St X and UL losing (twice).
1- you never seen a higher ranked team as the under dog? Bullitt East wasn’t supposed to win that game.

2- You can return a ball from inside the end zone, so that doesn’t matter.

3- I had no clue that even happened, I watched the WRs and saw the ball chucked, then watched the safety shift right to cut in front of the pass which went thru his hands.

Football thoughts from a non-football guy who still loves his teams:

- Have had the weekend to really stew or simmer or whatever over Saturday's debacle and these are the thoughts that keep running through my head:

* Maybe Stoops has taken us to our highest possible ceiling? God bless him. No one else could have come in here and shown us this peak, but this is it. When we peak, we are a 8-9 win team heading into a nice bowl with a chance to get to 10 wins, maybe. We are - AT BEST - 3rd in our division. That's the ceiling. That's not being a p---y a-- bit--. That's being realistic - something that I need to be more of as I head into the back side of my life on this earth.

* Lack of any real NIL initiative from the athletic department is going to further plummet us into despair.

* Whatever our identity was - a smash mouth/prostyle football team - is not sustainable for UK in this league. It's something even Saban got away from. Offense and explosive playmakers should be top priority.

* Honestly, we just need something fun in September and October. Something that will give us just a little joy until the impending dark, cold, and grey come looming into the bluegrass.

* Will Levis, bless his heart. I suppose I will always respect that he continued to play while hurt and beat up for us this season. But that guy has cost himself a ton of money and has been exposed. As soon as he was mentioned as a possible top 3 pick in the draft, he should have had a minor surgery on something and called it a season. He could have been the "mystery pick" of the draft, but now I'm afraid smart football guys have seen enough. He's going to slide like crazy.

* I don't care if these thoughts piss people off. If they do, it means they are on point.

* Going forward, it may be best to remember we are UK, not Alabama, LSU, Georgia, or even Florida during off-season media days. Shut up, know your place, put your head down, and try not to embarrass yourselves.

* Stoops isn't going anywhere. This was his season to get "fat and happy" just like our HOF basketball coach. There are no "greener pastures" for him. If he leaves, it will either be a lateral move or a preemptive "leave before they can terminate my contract" type of deal.

* I'm cool with Stoops staying here as long as possible. But I must understand that there is no "next step" to take. He has taken us as far as we can go. Maintain mediocrity and then capitalize when we have the Benny Snells, the C-Rods, the Lynn Bowdens, the Josh Allens, et al. Enjoy the ride . . . it may be a long, boring trip through Kansas and Iowa, but it is what it is.

I pretty much agree. Solid program that every few years can make a Top 10-15 run. That’s fine by me. Hell with playoff expansion, we can even threaten to get in every now and again.

These idiots wanting to run Stoops are the same guys hopping in basketball recruiting threads with inane “FOOTBALL SCHOOL!!?!” posts.

Just want to lead with -> of all the fat ankled, winter loving, flannel sporting, throw another log on the fire(I'm sure it's actually fake gas logs), Christmas Tree up on Nov 1st, Pumpkin Spiced cocktail mixing, duck boots and Barbour jacket waxing, cold weather enthusiasts... NONE, absolutely ZERO of you P*SSY B*TCH MADE LOSERS showed up Saturday.

That should about settle your fake ass "Oh I love all Four Seasons!!" bullshit. You ****ing flabby douche bags like an excuse to stay inside and be lazy. Goddamn vampires.

WCC(Insert real last name), BBDK, SAE, Richie, Willie, RAX, 80 and on and on.

Suck my balls. 33 and rain snow mix is the best!! Move to Wisconsin, gravy slurpers.

You got us. Really wish I would have made that one!

-Before the game I felt a little guilty about not driving 8 hours roundtrip to watch UK Saturday. The twins were out of town with their mom. Just didn’t feel like making the drive for what I felt like was a half ass effort ever since the Ole Miss game. After the game, not so much.

-Rolling out the NIL monthly donation deal 48 hours after losing to Vandy is the most UK football thing ever. My question is who are they accountable to? It says 90% of the $ goes to athletes. Who makes sure that is true?

-The basketball team looks like a ton of fun this year. No cry babies thus far and love me some Uno. Lots of unselfish kids and for me that’s a lot of fun to watch.

-Baseball card mania is over. But in the words of Al McGuire we were selling baseball cards before, during and will be long after the boom.

The breakdown of Bullitt Co. HS football is scintillating. More please.

-no reason uk can't be a consistent top 25 team...with the investment in the program/fan support that should be the baseline. Pop into the top 10-15 every once in awhile. We thought they were there.

^maybe this season is just a combo of staff turnover/key injuries/a shitty OC. I'm in show me mode.

-had a low grade headache Saturday AM. Gave my tickets away. I chose wisely.

-Our seats aren't heated. Also, being elevated and having that awesome view allows for a lots of wind gusts. Not being crowded also doesn't allow for group heat. We were freezing our asses off and covered in hand/foot warmers. Hope JoJo feels better. I'm sure all of you have convenient excuses but in reality you're just fake p*ssies. F*cking pocket p*ssy bitches.

-Losing a team full of seniors(lots of 5th year guys), while trotting that piece of trash predictable offense out on the field, is negligent. Heads have to roll. This season is ridiculous. Vandy is the worst P5 team. They were giving up 36ppg. Lol. We turned them over 3 times and still lost.

-Be intersting to see how Stoops handles it. I would assume this basically, without him just quitting or moving laterally, cements him in Lexington for the foreseeable future. Season like this in Baton Rouge, Auburn, etc gets you shit canned.

-He also needs to be really careful. UT has already zoomed past. UF is showing signs of life. USC beat us. Get out there and start swinging, goddammnit.

-Wheeler makes me irrationally angry. I don't know what to do about it. 11pts, 11 ast and I still hated his game.

-White Lotus, big old meh. Not sure why I even started season 2.

-Feel like Doc Boat, steak 3 days in a row. Protein!!

-Chappell is a genius. Crushed SNL. I love when he blatantly mocks a group yet they laugh along with him.

-The degree to which you lose your weekends, with kid related events, is drastically undersold when everyone is encouraging you to procreate. Shit, we're just getting f*cking started.

Scag must interview really well. But if you look at his history its all 1 & 2 yr stops. Think we know why now.

Puppies to Anth for the lack of group warmth and blistering wind gusts.

Thanksgiving in northeast had great tradition of 10:00 am high school football game. Miss getting back for those. Thanksgiving may be the best holiday for seeing old friends who come back to town once a year.

I like a crispness in the air, 4 seasons, but a limited winter. As an OG, I'm dedicated to my weather app to determine next round of golf I will play. Anything sunny and over 40-45, no wind, I can handle.

Wonderful Christmas Time is just ok. More concerning is Matts Catts love for Genesis, Phil Collins, and Mike and the Mechanics.

Think lamb should be on the tailgate menu for Saturday, slaughter and all.

-Hard to believe it's the same program that gutted out a Citrus Bowl W against a tough Iowa team last January.

-The "CEILING" talk just irks the shit out of me. Not because there isn't some kernel of truth to it, but because where TF is the fun in it? Why go out of your way to rationalize away the hope of a random Fall Saturday? I'm going to keep hoping and wishing and believing that we can go down south and whip these little bitches at their own games, because that's what I enjoy most about it. The dream.

Robbing yourselves of that because, why, you're afraid you're going to be disappointed sometimes? Because sometimes you've gotta lose to Vandy? Meh. Couldn't be me. I'm in this shit because I love all of it, the good, bad, and ugly.

I mean I grew up watching Florida hang 70 on us at will, and now we're beating their asses with some regularity. I'm not conceding shit until my Big Blue Ass is 6' deep. TS.

I told Anth last year leaving Samford that we're going "to taste their (Georgia's) blood" someday, and we will. It's going to be F'n better than sex when it happens. I can't wait for that. I'll take the beatings like a man until that sweet, sweet day.

The almost impossible task of getting together with my besties with kids solidifies my decision to save this world from my offspring and my regret-laden life from there on out.

Always get a kick out of the meme when one of my other barren friends posts it, "Not having kids is tough. All I can do is whatever I want whenever I want."

Lol, I get a kick out of people who act like their “fur babies” are their kids. If you ever have a kid multiply that love by 1,000 for that dog you think you love.

@SAECATFAN I feel the same way about playing UL. My mom and some friends of mine don't want to play UL because the thought of losing is too much to bare and the win is just expected. Whipping them almost year in and out puts a huge smile on my face and there's no way I'm not willing to risk a loss for the pure enjoyment of drubbing them yet again.

@bradyjames Yeah I have a dog and he's my homie but I would never refer to him as a fur baby or myself as a Dog Dad. I'm just a guy that has a dog. I definitely know the love is completely different #obvious to most people of slightly above average intelligence.

That being said, it's just as annoying when parents act like they made some great sacrifice for humanity by having kids. No, we've all done the process some of us just don't want the end result.

Also, nice call in on KSR to help explain some NIL stuff the other day, appreciate the inside look.

Even more reason I think the Chicago gal might stick around. We want the same things, to be selfish, spend all of our money on ourselves, travel and in general be gluttonous with all the minor sins.

And I'm really not trying to be "RAH RAH GBB!" I'm just trying to explain the mentality a little bit. I understand it isn't for everyone, but I trust the TRUE FOOTBALLS all probably feel the same. Being told even rationally what's possible and what isn't just kind of grates at you.
Jones used to say 8 wins was the ceiling. Until it wasn’t.

-started the new season of The Crown. One episode in (spreading out>>>binging). It's a soap opera, and monarchies are bullshit...still enjoyable/well done.

-hacks (prime) is a solid comedy.

-in the market for a starter synth, @GrandePdre ....for some reason I have in my mind you know about this stuff.

Stoops hiring his brother was foreshadowing the lack of reach in the Rolodex
Meh, he's made some great defensive hires and 1 really good O Cord hire. Other programs saw our success and raided the cupboard. Based on what he was looking for, he went with Rich over the "other" guy, because of NFL experience and rich committing to stay multiple years. He was trying to prevent the Cohen thing from happening again and the guy obviously just can't deal with college kids.

It actually says 90% of NET proceeds. Can they define net? Assume that means the donations pay for all the gear, dinners, events, etc. Do the donations pay for the folks who manage the collective, or is that what the 10% mentioned is for? The true percentage of money the players see from the funds donated is probably closer to 60%.

Your point still remains, though. I would hope the University requires an audit.

The only reason I regretted missing a Noon/Vandy game that was 100% guaranteed to be awful was that I couldn't witness Anth crying and whining in person.

Hopefully I'll get a #taste soon, NH. 😍

-The White Lotus is just weird. It's fine. But If that exact same show was on Netflix & not HBO, Vern would be first in line to rip it. 🤡

One major issue with Stoops is his pace of play, he's like the Defensive mirror image of Hal Mumme. Run as few plays as you can so the D looks better. He's going to have to change that for any OC to be successful here. Even Eddy Gran was racking up yards at UC before coming here.

Kids aren't easy, not sure anyone ever said they were. Nothing is more rewarding in life than having a child that loves you though. Used to say I didn't want kids, but I wouldn't trade it for anything now that I've found out how awesome it can be. The good far outweighs the bad.

The FTX scam just keeps snowballing. What an epic shitshow.

The UVA thing is incredibly sad, and I feel it's going to be worse once the actual story starts coming out.

I'm not afraid of some cold weather. I choose to go fishing/hunting in sub-zero weather quite often. Not a bit sad I skipped that mess on Saturday to keep an eye on my little man.

I did ease my sadness about the results of the game Saturday evening with a prime spinalis, some homemade bernaise, gratin potatoes, and a nice Malbec.

Been on a lentils kick lately. Might be a good thing considering the way food prices are going. Cheap, easy, and a great source of fiber and protein. Also been on a Greek yogurt for breakfast kick.

I've had the same plasma TV for over a decade now. Starting to get the itch for a new OLED.

Got one of those Power K hats Wynn linked recently, it arrived today. Already my new favorite.

Happy Monday Fokkers, have a great week!

I’m not saying you shouldn’t have kids but someone in my house has been sick since the middle of September.

This also just happens to be the first year my kids have been in preschool/school.

Agree 100%

He no doubt has affected the offenses that have been attempted to be run under his watch over the past decade.

They look exactly how you'd expect a defensive minded coach to demand his offense to be run. Slow pace, low risk play-calling, value time of possession over scoring quickly and all with the design to put your defense in the maximum position to perform.

You might be able to get wins, but it certainly doesn't attract top offensive talent and it also puts a ton of pressure on the o-line and defense.

Bottom line for me is that I just don't like watching that type of offense either. I hate passive offensive teams in any sport I follow.

The UVA shooting is terrible.

- Shooter is a former walk on
- 3 dead were all players. Not sure about the injured.

The LB play lost the game with arguably the best unit on our team. We couldn’t get off the field and contain Vandys option and we had a week knowing this dude was starting. Mark needs to hire Bob.

- After several years of the exact opposite, it’s tough to see UK as a sloppy/undisciplined team.

- Based on his actual production, Levis has been an average SEC qb over the last 2 years. We all hoped he would take the step forward this year (and there might be legit reasons why he didn’t) but the reality is that his production here just hasn’t matched the potential.

- Trevin Wallace plays HARD.
