* Offensive philosophy and shot selection aside, if you can't get a stop when you need it against one of the most offensively inept teams in the country you aren't very good. You are never going to be elite at man D if you don't have guys that can stay in front of the ball or at least someone that can keep people from finishing at the rim. Maybe Hagans on the elite defender but he was more a gambler that padded stats than he was a good defender. Also been fairly unathletic since Bam, Fox and Adebayo left. Cal likes to talk a big game freedom of movement, but is every bit as big of an abuser of physical basketball as Izzo, Huggins, etc. I actually think he is trying to adapt his recruiting/style, but with the exception of Oscar, none of these guys actually match the skillsets of anything similar to what he has coached in 25 years.

* Hate to go all weather guy, but really wild how bad the National Weather Service missed on those storms. I assumed that I hadn't been paying attention and that they had issued the typical guidance for something that would be historic in nature.

* Not sure where UL goes from Tyra, but that place isn't going to be satisfied until they are back to raiding what's left of the endowment and openly employing coaches with show-cause penalties.

* Just glad we are at the table on the transfer market. Would be an awful feeling to be Louisville sitting there watching dudes leaving and the replacements not coming in. Curios to see how Stoops and Co. do with having to plug in what will essentially be 25% of your offensive and defensive lineup 3rd and 4th year transfers.

You're out of your league, little man. Stick to blowing the druggie.

In a stunning move, John Calipari and his Kentucky Wildcat basketball team will now practice football for three days.

Stunning? That’s absolutely not happening.

But we did use to bring in a 5 man practice squad from the football team. Coaches would tell em not to worry about fouls “we aren’t calling them in practice”.

Talk about a test of pride, Shew!

Calipari is one of those coaches (most of them are like this, actually) that seem to think even the slightest public acknowledgment that his team needs to improve offensively will be a bat signal/green light to begin ballhogging, playing selfish lazy basketball, and jacking up ill advised bombs from half court every possession.

To me, it’s a huge red flag when you are struggling in basketball and a coach reverts to coach-speak about heart, toughness, etc. It’s a subtle suggestion that the issue is the kids with no accountability from the top down.

You know what’s lazy and lacks of effort? Using the same system despite different teams, talent, experience level for 12 straight years.

We've talked about everything from shooting to defense and all of them are legitimate reasons for how poor we are but spacing and passing are some of our biggest weaknesses and has everything to do with lineups and philosophy. Pump fakes are also never utilized by our players, which is a fundamental aspect of any coach when discussing triple threat options with the ball.

Notre Dame had several possessions where we were chasing the extra pass that resulted in wide open shots. I don't recall that happening in our offense frequently in recent years. We literally run Vegas or Horns and a crackpot weave at the 3 point line every game and hope our dogs are better than theirs. Cal is what we claimed he wasn't, a coach who just rolls the ball out there.

We saw a ton of promise from TyTy a month ago. Now he looks like he has no idea of what he’s supposed to be doing.
WTF are you talking about ? His last 5 games are before ND game :
14 pts. (5/10) / 3 reb. / 5 assist
15 pts. (3/5 3's) / 6 reb. / 2 assist
14 pts. / 5 re. / 3 assist / 4 steals
20 pts. / 6 reb. / 3 assist / 2 blocks
20 pts. / 12 reb. / 5 assist
We can bitch about a lot of things, Ty Ty has been pretty GD steady since the Duke game. Find another whipping post, he is not it.
DEFENSE is where we are getting roasted, plain and simple. Get FN stops. Cal is going to have to generate defense, trap and double the ball handler, create TO's, easy transition buckets (we aren't getting NONE of that).

Cals offense doesn’t work without a dynamic top flight PG. You can say that about any basketball team but more so his than most.

You can add all the pieces/shooters you want but without a DRose/JWall/BKnight type of guy that can beat his man and penetrate at will, it will continue to look disjointed.

Wheeler can do that to anyone. You have two problems, though:

(1) Notre Dame said, "Eff that. He ain't penetrating."

(2) Nobody hit a shot to counter it, including Wheeler, who really shouldn't be the one taking them.

Tomorrow is football signing day. Are there any reasons to fax anything other than a letter of intent or medical records? I pay $10 per month or something for a fax service and probably send/receive about 6 faxes a year. But those documents "must" be sent by fax for whatever reason. [eyeroll]

Rowland et al are absolutely killing it with football recruiting coverage on HOB. Somewhat surprising to see us get a transfer OL -- hope that doesn't mean Rosenthal is gone. Even more surprising is to see a possible transfer RB. But even if CRod returns, you can never really have enough RBs and Smoke has gotten the AJ Rose Award for perpetual mediocrity thus far. I remember Derrick Locke being our fourth or fifth string RB and *having* to play back in the day.

Thinking back, UK was incredibly fortunate with injuries on offense this season. If Wandale, Ali, Levis, or CRod got hurt -- we had absolutely nothing to go with. I mean nothing. I have no idea how this team ended up with only two serviceable WRs but I hope I never see it again. Thank God Wandale is a bad, bad MFer.

Had no clue Dawson Springs had a famous old ball park made out of wood that the Pittsburgh Pirates played in for a few spring trainings. Thought it was cool to learn this history.

Located in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, was originally built in 1914 to serve as a spring training park for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1914 to 1917. Sometimes referred to as Tradewater Park, it is the only known baseball park in Kentucky to have hosted a major league team since the Louisville Colonels folded in 1899. While the original stadium was destroyed in a flood in the 1930s, it was later rebuilt in 1999. Like the original stadium, the rebuilt park is reconstructed out of wood. It is the only ballpark of its kind in Western Kentucky.

Dawson Springs is home to a mineral spring that was believed by many to have medical healing qualities. This led to it becoming a huge resort town. Thousands of people came to drink and bathe in the spring. Forty hotels sprung up to accommodate the tourists. The Pittsburgh Pirates seeing these large crowds decided to make Dawson Springs their spring training home.

In 1914 Riverside Park was built to serve as the spring training venue for the Pirates. The entire ballpark was made entirely from wood, from the grandstand to the dugout. Local citizens then constructed a large indoor pavilion for spring training and exhibition games and an additional wing was built onto the New Century Hotel to accommodate the players. Teams soon came from St. Louis, Chicago, Kansas City, Louisville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Philadelphia, as well as minor league squads from Columbus, Ohio and Toledo, Ohio to play the Pirates at Riverside Park. These teams consisted of other major league squads, American Association teams, colleges, semi-professional teams, and even teams formed by local mining companies and businesses. Hall of Famer Honus Wagner and his friends often went fishing at the Old Mill Dam, located right beside Riverside Park and a short walking distance from the New Century Hotel. Wagner, who trained on this field for 3 years, organized a team of local young boys known as "Honus Wagners' Young Recruits." Several other future members of the Hall of Fame including; Babe Ruth, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, Casey Stengel, and Ty Cobb also played baseball at Riverside Park.

Whatever NIL deal needs to be put together or whatever amount through back channels we need to gather to fend off these sharks circling Goodwin today/tonight.. Do it.

We can not lose a generational in state talent who has already committed. Marrow’s been on this kid since the 8th grade before he blew up.

For all I care the powers that be can drop off a brand new Escalade with a blue bow across the hood in his momma’s driveway with a note that reads, “ Merry Christmas! Courtesy of Kentucky Football” and broadcast it live on Instagram while tagging the NCAA.

Whatever it takes. Get it done.

* Man, what a world we live in. Tomorrow is National Signing Day, and as Kentucky fans we actually get to give a damn, participate, and share in the enthusiasm with the rest of our SEC breth.

* I've been waiting for almost 2 years to hear a leader have some balls to make these types of proclamations:

Basically --> vaccines are the best way to not die, they're everywhere, but if you decide not to take them and get sick it's your own gd fault.

* Steaming add-ons are a strange thing. I've had HBO forever, and "can never find anything to watch." Lass added Showtime a few weeks ago, and I'm glued to the 'tube power watching my way thru Homeland, with Succession and Dexter up next. Yellowjackets. Probably a few others. Give it a month or two and I'll forget we even have it.

* WTF is with all these losers who insist on walking around 24 hours a day with Air Pods in their ears? Guar-an-damn-tee-you JoeyRupption is one. Stumbling around society being anti-social like a deaf zombie. The world isn't that hard, guys. Take out the 'buds, deal with reality, increase the awareness of your surroundings, have a normal life.

* Man, what a world we live in. We've got the nation's leading rebounder and dime dropper, all kinds of upperclass talent, shooting galore, a strong freshman class, a deep bench of coaching talent......and we're still struggling to keep up with the Joneses. I still think there's plenty of hope for this season, but I'm keeping a close eye on Cal. This squad absolutely has the chops to make a run, so don't pay your fare on the Bitch Bus yet. No excuses.

* Did we ever get a Western Kentucky roll call?
