College football pollsters are known for strong opinions weakly held and will surely change their worldview if UK football with one win over Penn State on NYD, IMO. It’s all downhill from here.

Valvano’s show has really grown on me. He’s somewhat of curmudgeon, goes on these red ass rants that includes casual cursing, calls a spade a spade whether it offends UL or not and generally gets decent guests.

He has Pratt cohost every Friday for the majority of his show. I enjoy. Pratt calls it like he sees it as well and isn’t afraid to give an honest assessment of the Cats, unlike company line man Tom Leach.

-PTI(pti) bragging daily about having all the free time (and money) in the world yet not making it in for the wedding is a great look, btw.

Almost as good of a look as you ignoring the invitation, the website, and the save the date and being completely blindsided by the very well communicated dress code. Not to mention blaming the bride and groom for your own oversight, and whining about it incessantly.

Going to see Die Hard in the theater tonight. Having never seen it on the big screen I'm pretty stoked. I hope we win tomorrow.

If you don’t think the previous years record factors in to preseason polls, which factor in to subsequent playoff rankings, I don’t know what to tell you. Maybe try paying attention if you haven’t picked up on that yet.

-Hey, at least PTI made the bachelor party.

-May have mentioned it before but my parents turned me onto pocket coffee, shit is so good. Packs a nice little punch as well.

-Good to hear we're still in it for Edwards and Duke is out. I thought the article claiming we had been cut was a little weird, he didn't list us as a visit, but then spent 3-4 lines raving about Coach Cal. We also visited him the very next day. Sounds like UGA and FSU are the main competition.

Boat mentioned having to miss Cumberland nearly 100x prior to my wedding so no, I don’t feel bad giving him shit about scheduling his during UK-Louisville AND making us dress like penguins.

Penguins? Im wearing a nice pair of slacks a blue blazer. Still on the fence if I wear a tie or not.

Hardly penguin attire.

I think most politicians completely miscalculate what a huge percentage of Americans are completely oblivious to the government shutdown. Like, this thing could go on for weeks or months and we wouldn’t give a flying touch.

That’s where I am, anyways.

Only "essential" government functions remain in operation.

Well . . . if it's not "essential", why TF does it exist in the first place?

Don't bother posting a reply but it was mentioned a couple weeks back.

Really good single barrel. Can be hard to find. My winter go-to.

I know you said do not bother replying, but the rep picked up 3 bottles here in BG. I do appreciate the feed back. Will sample tonight.

So I was curious which government functions are currently shut down and I was looking around for that stuff when I found this little tidbit from before Christmas and before the shutdown...
  • "NORAD announced that if a government shutdown occurs, the annual NORAD Tracks Santa tradition will continue. "Military personnel who conduct NORAD Tracks Santa are supported by approximately 1,500 volunteers who make the program possible each and every year," NORAD said in a statement."
Umm.... what? FIFTEEN HUNDRED PEOPLE participate in pretending to track something that doesn't exist? I'm kind of dying to know more.

I mean they've gotta just be referring to the various weather people around the country who say "Oh, Santa's in Quebec now! Woah! Better get to bed, kids!"

Right?

It did say they were unpaid volunteers, so this isn't a "bloated government" thing. I'm just trying to figure out what 1500 people do in regards to a pretend radar tracker.

Listening to the Bourbon Pursuit Podcast on the drive down to Florida. I grew up around bourbon. Grandad was longtime Heaven Hill distillery employee, Dad retired as Distillery Manager at Beam and short stint to start up Bardstown Bourbon. Next door Neighbor was VP at Heaven Hill. But listening to that podcast makes me feel inferior as hell.
