You know something, as a UK Wildcat I really hate Tennessee. But, when I run into someone that lives in southeastern Kentucky near the Tennessee state line I usually just shut my F'n mouth and trust what they have to say about the rivalry, good or bad.

You know why? Because they live it and live *with* it. Their perspective, knowledge, and appreciation of UT is dramatically different than mine being here in Louisville. This typically leads to some differences in what we think of and how we speak of Tennessee, even though it's all rooted in the same disdainful rivalry. Is Knox County Wildcat a Tennessee honk because of? Of course F'n not, and neither are us Louisville residents.

Harlan native, half of the county were UT fans...I always thought they were bigger rivals than Louisville.

^They probably were until we decided not to beat them for 25 years in a row.

I didn't say that it happened all the time. I said when it does. Do I have to live in Montclair to be a real wildcat, anth?

I just found it quite entertaining. Old Appalachia SAE discussing the state of the rivalry with mountain folks.

-Liquor stores don’t have to have ethics anymore. They can mark it up as high as they choose, and they can buy from you as a walk-in customer just the same as a vendor.
They're not clubbing you over the head and making you buy it. Other bourbons are on the shelves next to it at retail. Why shouldn't they be able to sell it at whatever Doctor Bob is willing to pay? We mentioned earlier, a Master Distiller was at a large chain selling bottles for well above BSM just this weekend.

Weren’t you the one complaining about not being able to find it at retail anymore?

Just received my 2nd Kentucky Owl bottle. I guess batch 2 was better than batch 1 by $15.

Rye or regular? I got one of each.

Yeah it was kind of a nutpunch to go by Total Wine after and see two bottles of Owl Rye for $70 cheaper than I paid at Liquor barn. Guess the master distillers autograph is expensive.

Did score an Angels Envy cask strength and a bottle of Nikka.

Oh well, live and learn.

$5,000.00 per bottle, easily.

note: Mantle, drunk and philanderer as he was, would often sign baseball's for kids with hot moms, and the inscription would be something like "to johnny, best wishes. your mom has great tits and I want to f*** her." :joy:

He could write all of that on a baseball? A true 6 tool baseball player if there ever was one.

“Semper Augustus” was the most expensive tulip sold in the “Tulip Mania” during the Dutch Golden Age of 17th century Holland.

It was popularized in 1841’s “Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds.”

Like most things I post here, I had an inkling of what it was and then did 4 seconds of Wikipedia research to blithely reference it like a know-it-all asshole you’ve all come to enjoy. You’re welcome.

The whole Pitino thing for me comes down to one single thing. He had other options, but he chose to go to our bitter instate rival.

So for that treason, he can enjoy all the pumps for eternity.

Michigan was never an option. Pitino likes to tell a story that he has his choice of schools. He had a TERRIBLE interview with the Michigan AD and was never offered the job.

Michigan AD probably asked him if there was a chance that he would knock up a floozy in an Italian restaurant and pay hookers to screw prize recruits and star players. Standard interview questions Tom overlooked.

-Decision to start following football recruiting is a dumb one.

-SV turbot for dinner last night. WAF.

-Found a bottle of Stagg Jr at a shady liquor store, first one I've seen in Lex. 129proof, antsy to try it tomorrow. That and ECBP are the two I've really been wanting.

-Shortest day of the year coming up. [cheers] All up hill starting this weekend. Before we know it we'll be averaging mid to high 80's. CAN. NOT. WAIT.

-Win is going to take a big game out of either Hagans or Herro, imo. Someone else is going to have to step up. Hagans harassing White and Herro knocking down some of those WIDE open 3s would be a good start.

-Saturday -> Prime Rib early, may even use real china, and then cacio for a post game snack.

I agree that Hagans has improved immensely in just a few weeks -- the next step is for him to finish plays, or at least attempt to.

Dude has a really sneaky quickness to him when it comes to getting by his man & into the lane (especially from the wing), but once he gets in there he likes to just STOP, and seems unsure of what to do/overthinking.

He needs to at least take a few jumpers a game. If teams have to respect him even just a little bit the “blow by kick to the wing or cutting big” is going to be there for him all day.

Just take a couple. Doesn’t have to shoot 100% either, just not 0.
