- I think it will be interesting to see how DePaul's brand new downtown Chicago arena helps with recruiting and their resurgence on the national scene. Always a sleeper/sleeping giant of a program. What's Joey Meyer up to these days?

- How about these classic unis? Not a bad look in the bunch (except Kansas...dude looks like a cartoon). The Georgetown unis are :fire:...

Couldn't sleep so I went down the YT rabbit hole and came across the LSU/DePaul game in Alumni Gym in Chicago during the 79/80 season,place was rocking. I love visiting old gyms like that and kick myself for not visiting AG while in Chicago back in Nov. The WCC reminds me some of the good ol' days of the BE or of DePaul playing in those places.

I’m actually fine with Pitino’s career being ruined without him dying penniless and alone.

Chase is one vindictive sonofabitch. smh

Pitino makes 10x more in his investments than his salary.
Multiple Dunkin doughnuts, insurance agencies, Somerset houseboats, multiple car dealerships, etc. Our hope needs to be that he dies of lack of attention.

-I really like watching Rick Byrd's Belmont teams. Over 600 wins in 30 years at a small school when he's had plenty of chances to angle for bigger jobs. They're always fun to watch on offense....a bunch of shooters with just enough athleticism mixed in to stay on the boards. If they ever won an actual NCAA-T game, he'd be a much bigger story.

RB has been a huge story in the coaching ranks for a long time. He is a definite HOF'er and one hell of a class act.

Base = $4.448
adidas = $2.5
retention = $2.5 ($7.5 every 3 years)
Academic bonus = $250k
Deferred comp = $300k
National Championship ([eyeroll]) = $500k

So no, he doesn’t earn almost $100 million on top of that.

Suck my balls.

It’s hard to argue with the math here.

Or the balls.

2017, the year he was fired was his first year making addidas $. So he didn't even make that for an entire year.
#2 his retention is $750k every three years ( that's $250k a year, not $2.5 mill)
#3 this new contract is from 2015, he hasn't hit any national championship bonuses since then bud.

Our first encounter was after a school function, about a dozen people. Never met the guy before. Katina powell shit had just broke. One of the guys in the group asked him what the story was. His exact words...." Total bullshit, nobody in their right mind would let somebody like that on campus, much less around any players"

My response, " I thought they just came out and said there were pictures of her and her daughters in the dorm with players"
He fu@king bit my head off, said I had no idea what I was talking about, and if anybody would know he thinks he would. Sanctimoniously as f@ck of course.
I dropped it, I wasn't going to win that one.

Month and a half later, parent teacher conference, waiting outside classroom for my kids teacher. Here comes that greasy haired snake. After eye contact I said..." Looks like there was a little bit more to the story"
"REALLY, REALLY.....at our kids school? Keep it classy man " , was his response.

F@ck him. He might fight me, but when I see him he is getting some kind of snarky shit. Believe dat.

Crean has joined the exclusive group of coaches I used to hate but now quite like- along with Denny Crum, Dale Brown and Bob Huggins.

Denny Crum may be the most underrated coach in the history of college basketball. The man was a masterful x&o’s coach in his prime. He treated the damn game like a poker match.

The old man always referred to him as “Cool Hand Luke”.

Denny was a great coach.He generally didn't give an eff about what he said. History has been pretty kind to him too. As far as academics back then, he didn't care. They were a national laughingstock. Players like Jerome Harmon somehow kept being made eligible to play. Two major NCAA violations scandals. Plus, some other less than minor scrapes with the NCAA - I see you Dwayne Morton.

If we’re looking at past transgressions and history, not many of our coaches can throw stones(that includes us fans) to be honest. Hoping the Cal era pans out just as it has been so far.

Mark Jurich out at UL. Can't wait to see him at school. Little swarmy f@ck and I have had words at several school functions. Thinks his shit doesn't stink like his father.
When I rub this in, it might come to punches. Whatever.
Smarmy is the word you were looking for Rob. Surprised you haven't heard it before.

Back from my niece's funeral. Tough couple of days, but always good to see relatives I haven't seen in a long time and meet some new ones that I never knew existed.

It's sad to see a sibling, especially an older one you looked up to for so long, devolve into a piece of crap. I love my 2nd oldest sister, but I don't understand how you can go to your niece's funeral and smoke pot just outside the funeral home during visitation, pilfer through your dead niece's house like a vulture, then go back to the funeral home and steal a glass cross from a floral arrangement that I had sent there. I should be mad right now, but all I can feel is embarrassment and shame. A 66 y.o. woman acting a quarter of her age, and now she's made herself the family pariah in one day. :weary:

-In the same vein, just got a text this morning from my best bud of all time that his dad passed away last night. These things are such bummers man. I fully expect/hope my dad to be around for 20 more years. Can’t imagine.

-Just learned today that the President, Congress and Supreme Court Justices are never subject to drug tests. Maybe I should’ve known/expected that but I think it’s crazy. On top of that, it’s actually unconstitutional to force them to take one.

Between that and their healthcare, those f***ers really have things figured out.

There’s no doubt Ok St. chokes this away by the end of the game. There’s probably a 1% chance they win and they have been murdering Kansas.

St. John’s too. Bagley has 4 fouls, they’re up 8 under 12, and 0% chance they win.

College basketball in current year is quite awful.

Props to Villanova and Purdue for being slightly less terrible than everybody else on Feb. 3.
