CTE is life throwing a bone to the PTI's and other highschool nerds of the world.
They are at their comic book shops, trivia nights and 100 mile runs celebrating, thinking they finally got the last laugh at those " dumb jocks".

Richie, how/why do you not come to the SECTs?

I would enjoy it more if you were there.

In 2011,2012 and 2015 I went to the Final Four. In 2012 and 2015 I was supremely confident that we were going to make the Final Four so I saved for that instead blowing a bunch of money on an absolutely meaningless tournament. In 2014 I was in Indy for the Sweet 16/Elite 8 weekend.

I'll spend good coin for great seats for the Sweet 16/ Elite 8 and or Final Four. And yes, I get the SEC Tourney is a fun weekend ala adult BBN Spring Break or whatever but if I have to pick and choose between a SEC Tournament and rolling the dice on being there in person when the Cats cut the nets for a NCAA title I'm picking the Final Four every time.

When I hear Ryan Lemond, I picture John Short.

Tommy, shoot me a text, not sure if I've got the right number for you still.

Turned 30 this year, hard to believe. By far the worst year of my life, also hard to believe. Been trying to switch some things up to get things trending in the right direction again. Oddly enough, seeing SAE pull himself out of his rough patch a couple years ago has helped keep me going. Super random, but I'll take anything I can get at this point.

Basketball team looks huge. Transformations of SGA and Vanderbilt are absurd. The goofy little black dude knows his shit.

SECT is fun, I'll probably do it every couple years, but for the expense and being packed like sardines, think I'd rather watch it from some tropical paradise.

Team Adrian

False. My Dad gets the tix but I have to pay him for 100 % of the face value. He firmly doesn't believe in hand outs and as a grown working professional I'd feel like a chump if he paid for my tix. That goes for my great football seats as well. Received them as a graduation gift in 2001. They're in my name and every year since 2001 I've made the K Fund donation and paid for the tix like any grown ass man should.

And yes, I've stayed with friends and or relatives in the past because in every instance they had a much nicer place to stay in than a hotel, they offered and it was free.

It would be fun to hang with the whole Wodie Crew in a SEC Tournament Setting that doesn't include the stress of a NCAA Tournament game.

Maybe I'll do St Louis in March. That could be fun and different. My biggest thing with Nashville is that I could book a hotel in midtown fng Manhattan for less than what it costs to stay in downtown Nashville these days.

<--- pumped about St. Louis, both b/c I haven't been there since I was 17, or as an 'adult' & b/c it's just time for a new venue. Will be easier, cheaper, etc as well. We spend more per-day (on average) in Nashville every time we go than we do in NYC, Vegas, Chicago...or anywhere else for that matter, if you're talking UK Trips. That's not even close to being an exaggeration, either.

Nashville is awesome, never not had a blast -- but I didn't "miss" anything sitting on a beach or Casino in Aruba watching all the games, I can promise you that.

Also, I feel like I've eaten at Cunetto House of Pasta (I haven't) at this point based on how many times '73 has posted about it over the years. I recommended it to Killa earlier this summer -- then remembered I've never even been.

Was at a bachelor party 8 years ago in St Louis with WWH and some buddies. 73 gave us that Cunetto House of Pasta rec. Place was :fire::fire::fire:.

No thrillls. Old school family style Italian joint. Dark, dimly lit bar with a cigarette machine and small tv in the corner. Wood panel walls. Place was incredible.

I know it's annoying and worn out, but IDGAF. This discussion continues to amaze and confound me.

On one hand, you've got so many people screaming "WELL, OF COURSE FOOTBALL IS UNSAFE FOR YOU! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!!!"

While at the same time, many of those same people, and the NFL itself, continue to insist they need more info to connect CTE and playing the sport. And now you've got Transy who thinks playing it as a child can't cause brain injury.

Slamming your head into stuff, at any age, regardless of the device wrapped around your mug, is bad for you. End of discussion. For pete's f'ing sake, can't we all at least agree on that?

damn, what are they going to tell us next, that boxing and the UFC are dangerous for the athletes?

you know what is dangerous, signing up for the military, getting shipped to Iraq or Afghanistan and getting shot at by people that don't want you there and dodging improvised road side bombs everyday. even worse than that, having to rely on the V.A. to give you medical care after the fact. for far far far less money than these professional athletes. give me a football salary and some head injuries over that mess. and both volunteered. except the athletes are millionaires with life long pensions and medical care. the other can't even die in a bed because of the V.A.

Be a good parent this Fall.

Nope. Golf causes skin cancer.

The protection afforded by these heavily armored vehicles is impressive, but when an RPG hits your vehicle and the blast slams your head into the sides, it's a pretty impressive force.

I will say the military is making efforts to better deal better with TBI. When I was over in the box, dudes getting their brains scrambled by blast injuries that didn't have a brain bleed were sent back out there. If you had three TBI's in a 1-2month period, then they'd sit you for a while.

Thing is, diffuse axonal injuries don't really show up on CT. Need an MRI, and those werent available in the field.

It's hard as hell to pin down actual contract info for the lesser guys, but have seen from a few difference places that Darius Miller's is 4.3M over 2 years?

If so, that's pretty damn wodie for him. Looks like his 3pt shooting over in Germany had him considering offers from Houston & Orlando as well. :)

Especially considering that DRose got 1yr @ 2.1M from the Cavs.

With this cold front that has graced the Commonwealth tonight, I feel a touch of fall out here under the skies.

Is it a mirage? Of course. But, we're getting close, folks. That singular time of year is close at hand.

I ordered 5 Dozen custom designed (Power K, thanks Willy) golf balls Monday night when I got home (Vice), they were complete & processed for UPS on Wednesday in Kircheim, Germany...departed Cologne last night, and are sitting on my Kitchen counter as of 1:55pm today. Shipping was $6.95. That's pretty amazing, imo. #UPS

Shipping and logistics blow my mind. I went into an Amazon fulfillment center for the first time this week, and it's just insane to see the beast at work.

One of my favorite feelings- that first fall chill in the air late July/early August.

Summer ends by mid-July imo.

New set of tires on the ol' sports car. The thrill of downshifting into a turn, squeezing the throttle, and the ensuing G Force is one of my favorite things.

Summer man.

It's gotten to the point with me where I can't even stand being around people who like summer. If I catch even a whiff of summerhead in someone, BOOM, I'm outta here. They make me sick.
