Well you dicks talked me into the good one.

And doing a little more research I read that the $300 travel credit resets after your December statement, so in theory you can use $600 in travel credits before the annual fee kicks in again.

If one didn't know better, one might think PTI with all his smarts is the board equiv of Gordon Gekko...less the looks, hair, apparel, and overall personality, of course.

Got both the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred about 3 months apart. One under my name, and the other under the wife's name. Quick 150,000 points...

Best perk of the Reserve ---> Priority Pass for lounge access.

Also, helps to learn Korean Air's mile transferability to KLM and Air France for travel to Europe. The PointsGuy can elaborate.

Tubby has a nice little team, should be a tourney team. He has to be loving it. No pressure, plenty of blues music, team full of gritty dudes. Good for him, still our best dressed coach. Get em, Orlando.

I'm no fashionball, by any means, but are you serious Clark? Rick and Cal may have something to say about that. Cal's mom jeans not included.

This is correct. I have already received both $300 credits and plan on closing the card before the renewal. I use it for all business travel expenses and has been great so far.

Between SPG points (converted to Marriott points) and the 100K in points from this card, my two week vacation trip in Europe is already paid for.

Also had the wife get the card as well for next summer's trip.

Tubby is sharp dressed man. Conservative, Brooks Brothers look.

Pitino can get a little too Donned out at times but he has some sharp looking Hermes ties and an unlimited amount of Gucci loafers.

Cal has gotten better. Suits are more fitting. That blue Hermes tie he rocked during the UL game was dope as ish. He's been wearing these brown Ferragamos with gold bits these season that really makes me want to go cop a pair.

Always wearing a brown suit. Iconic. Didn't need bit loafers.

-Nice little upgrade for Minnesota, from Claeys to Fleck. The guy has proven that he can turn things around, he gets to keep his recruiting territory, and he's going to a place where they'll put up with his schtick because they don't take themselves too seriously. Combined with Richard's team having a decent season, and that's about as good as they've had it in forever up there.

-Seems like we say this every year, but if Calipari can get Kevin Knox not only after most had conceded Knox to the ACC but also after Cal's already snagged two five-star forwards....that could be his greatest recruiting win at UK. He got Bam and Teague against all odds, but neither of them already had five-star kids committed at their same position. Still don't see it happening, but if it does.....unreal.

-Staying out of the CC discussion, since all I have is a simpleton Visa card with Cinderella Castle on it.

-Have that entire Leah Remini series on Scientology sitting on the DVR. It's getting great reviews, and she definitely has the inside scoop on that that whole scam.

-This time of year, I always get the urge to hit up a local HS basketball game on a Friday night. The band, the popcorn smell, the student section....all conjures up great memories. I want to go to a true rivalry game, though. Seems like every time I see clips of a HS game on the news, the place is about 1/4 full. Forget that.

-Even when I was a simpleton I still had a solid points earning CC that we charged everything on and paid off monthly. We have basically went back to that since G entered the picture b/c travel has been limited. Do a little research on what cards are best for what you spend money on and at least get some cash back or pay for a few nights on your next Disney trip. Nothing wrong with those AMEX Everyday cards, Chase Ink, Sapphire(regular), AMEX SPG(great card). You don't have to go through 25 cards in 8 months to make it worth your time.

-Is Cal expecting Gabriel to leave? I know the kid has almost nothing but.. shew that's a leap right now. I'd love Knox though and I doubt he's scared of playing with anyone we've got so far. I'd say the unease around K taking off mid-season(and being old as f*ck) plus UNC/NCAA is opening it up a bit.

-Hopefully Young ends up in state.

-I have nothing for KYHS BB. Not judging those who follow it or go to the S16. I just have no desire.

-Weird snow. Very dry and grainy but stuck to the concrete like a mofo. Pretty sure my effort to clear the sidewalks just turned it into a hazard.

-Glenkinchie. Damn, it's good.

-Ruby's/21c next week for my annual review/get hammered and eat a lot of food. Always a great night.

-Top, non-Zika destination for relaxation in November?

I've watched almost every episode of that, and it's some pretty scary stuff. This is essentially a super cult ran by a complete psycho and endorsed by a staggering list of celebrities. When the father of the leader has to "escape" the cult and is then followed everywhere by a P.I. ever since, you're a freaking psycho.

Watched the HBO doc- what's this one on?

Llama, the Scientology thing hasn't been too bad for the ones we've watched so far. A bit of it seems overly manufactured for high drama, but the whole thing is pretty amazing. 20/20 is doing something on the Remini/Scientology thing tonight, I believe.

- Working at a new hospital this month. I have to drive past CFA each way...this will not end well.

- Anthony I cannot recommend Kauai enough. And no Zika.

- work has been insane. Every damn huge disaster that comes in is when I'm on call. Uncanny.

- Still haven't been hit hard this winter. Prayers up for a mild Jan/Feb.

- Homeland first episode has promise. Still won't touch the first 2 seasons.

* Can't say Hawaii is on my list, for whatever reason. I'm all hooked on this Iceland idea, though. The ex used to obsess about Iceland, and I thought she was crazy. But a simple Google image search pretty much tells you all you need to know. It's like a different world there.

* Scientology isn't really any different than other religions. In fact, it's the same, but hierarchy is just much more transparent.

I think A&E should do one on the Catholic Church next.

* This country is in fantastic shape in many ways right now --> stock market is at an all-time high, real estate is surging, unemployment is low, interest rates are down, gas is cheap.....point fingers, take blame, criticize accordingly, whatever, but where the US is today versus 8 years ago = quite an amazing turnaround.

* Was Leah Remini ever really hot? I say no.

* All-SEC kicker isn't awarded an open scholarship by UGA's Kirby Smart, dad goes nuts...

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/f...ustice-son-isnt-on-scholarship-220712858.html

Hate to say it, but good for his dad. I think he's totally in the right here.

* Never really hated Arkansas for any particular reason until the Monk situation. What a meltdown by that pathetic fanbase. Not quite ready for prime time, imo. One day, he's their hero. The next day, he's a one-and-done hired gun. Same kid. :joy:

Hawaii will eventually come. Hopefully to watch the Cats but that's asking a lot out of a 2.5 year old. 18-19 hour travel days don't seem logical just yet.

We have traveled extensively with our young kids with little to no issues. Long flights up to 12 hours. Inflight entertainment helps a ton and since you are already paying for a seat for the kid, they are able to easily sleep in that smaller space.

Do a trip to the Canary Islands or somethign southern Europe. Leave on the overnight flights and the kid will sleep through most of the flight.

I highly doubt UofL is going to lose accreditation but even if they did it only applies to degrees earned by students who entered school after they lost accreditation.
