GYER28-0

Re: GYER27-0

For those that want Wisky at a #1 - is their résumé that much better than Gonzaga, conference difference aside? Heck, after looking at the Wisconsin schedule, I might put Arizona or Kansas at a #1 over them. Assuming both win the rest of their games. We can probably eliminate Kansas from that.

Re: GYER27-0

Wisky SOS- #23
Gonzaga SOS- #78

UK's SOS is #22 to give you some perspective.

So yeah... Their resume is much better.

Re: GYER27-0

^ a huge part of that is the conference, That is a sticking point for sure. I bet their OOC SOS is much better.

Wisconsin's 3 best wins are currently Georgetown, Oklahoma and Indiana. Still a couple of nice wins left but overall, not that impressive on the surface.

Re: GYER27-0

Well their next game is @ Maryland... If they take care of business, that is definitely better than anything Gonzaga has accomplished this year.

If they do then yes. But, as of now, I can't argue with the Zags being a #1. And with geography being in play it is going to be hard to strip them of that 1 seed.

And Barry Alvarez would be smart to talk to his fellow AD at MSU(on the committee) and let him know they don't mind to travel outside of their natural region.

Re: GYER27-0

I mean, I don't want to get too far ahead b/c this is going to be fun watching them end the season like this...

...but can you really FATHOM how bad they will be next year? I've said it 15 times, but I still
eek.r191677.gif
when I think about them losing their 4 best (only) players off *this* POS team.

Whew.

Yep, so if you take out the 18 conference games (over half of the season), then Wisconsin & Gonzaga's resumes are almost identical.

Great stuff per usual chief.

What? You think they'll say WCC and Big 10 are the same, so let's just look at non-conference schedule?

Re: GYER27-0

No.

Guess you haven't paid attention the past 15 years when the Committee slots Gonzaga about 3-5 seeds lower than whatever they are "ranked" at the end of each year.

This year is different, they are a definite 1/2 seed, but how in TF can you say the committee is going to simply ignore 18 games?

My god you are stupid.

Because this year IS different. You know it, I know it, college basketballs know it. And the committee knows it. That is why they will ignore those 18 games if it comes to that point.

Honestly though, I think UVA or Duke end up a 2 before Wisconsin does. Again, assuming they win out.

When it comes to Gonzaga this year, I think that is exactly what they will do.

For Gonzaga this year - Yes.

We're talking about Wisconsin.

What is your highest completed level of education?
1.OK. The B10 isn't good this year.

2. Middle school.

Re: GYER27-0

They'll likely have Seven (7) teams in the dance, 6 minimum.

The WCC will have 1.

But that doesn't really matter, right?

Again, if Wisconsin finishes the year 32-2, and DOMINATES a 6-7 bid league, they will not be denied a #1 seed, nor should they.

Re: GYER27-0

And I don't think they will be denied. As I said above, I think they will get a 1 over UVA or Duke. But, if it comes down to Zags vs Any of them then the conference records are moot IMO. Not saying it is fair or right, just the way it will be.

Right, Chief. Virginia and Duke's ACC schedule won't matter at all compared to the Zags WCC schedule. Jesus Christ.

What am I missing? If geography is one of the main factors, and they say it is, then Gonzaga will be a 1 seed. It seems like most experts agree with that. So, I'm of the belief they are throwing out any conference comparisons if that is the case. Is that outlandish?

And after Wichita State getting a 1 last year, I'm fairly certain they threw out conference and non-conference last year. They were good and a great story but I think we all knew they wouldn't win the championship.

C'mon man.
The B10 was a meat grinder last year. Best conference by far. Yet Wichita State beat out Wisconsin and Michigan for a 1 seed. Do you think they compared and contrasted those two conferences?

Of course conference games matter........for 99% of the teams. But, in special cases, like WSU last year and Gonzaga this year, conference didn't and won't matter.

Re: GYER27-0

Better call Saul with another strong episode.

Anybody have one of those RF blocking wallets for cards with chips? Evidently becoming a necessity.

Re: GYER27-0

Conference strength matters only in as much as it reflects upon schedule strength.

What if Gonzaga loses? Do they still get a one seed or does their conference still get ignored? Being undefeated in their conference is a part of their resume.

There aren't any top 25 teams other than Gonzaga in the WCC, but an undefeated run by any good major conference team is far from a guarantee, even among elite teams. Duke, Kansas, Arizona, Villanova, etc. have all lost games "easier" than some games on Gonzaga's conference schedule.

Road games, especially against mid majors, are almost always underrated. Take Gonzaga's most recent game against Saint Mary's, for example. They're a borderline top 50 team, but according to Sagarin and Kenpom, that game is about as difficult as a home game against Notre Dame. A home win against Notre Dame would be lauded as a quality victory, while the other can serve only as evidence to Gonzaga's inferiority.

Yep... I'm no KU/Self apologist, but that is just retarded and dangerous on all levels. Ever since the IU fiasco, I really despise the "court storming" experience.... It's just a reason for mouthbreathing hilljacks to go crazy when players and coaches are still on the floor.

Yup. Dude is very thin-skinned.

He basically called me ignorant after I told him I thought it was neat a journalist (Tucker) would call for the arrest of people for mentioning (free speech and all) the Boogie/Clay Travis incident.

Re: GYER27-0

- I don't know if Chief is purposely turrible these days or what. He was never like this a few years back. With that said- will you guys stop engaging him? TIA.

- Based solely upon social media, Kyle Tucker is your typically awful sportswriter- doesn't realize about 10% of the male population in the U.S. could do his job adequately, sticks up for the rest of his bullshit colleague base, is thin-skinned, doesn't realize how fortunate he is, etc.

With that said, some good dudes I know who know him say he's a pretty good guy.

- I mean, I guess Kansas winning that conference again is a big deal but at what point do we realize how hallow that feat is on the national stage? How well has dominating the Big 12 helped Kansas in the NCAA? Meanwhile, the SEC gets shit upon every year, but does a pretty good job preparing the Wildcats.

- Of the same vein, my absolute FAVORITE thing is Kansas Fan poo-poohing the NCAA Tournament- playing the "it's not a great way to crown a champion" or "there's too much emphasis on March."

Losers.

- I would hate having games every GD Monday night.

- Not overlooking Wednesday, because at this point, every game with these guys is a blessing (

) but am already PUMPED for Saturday.

- I haven't watched "The Theory of Everything" but may have to for Felicity Jones.

I know I shouldn't quote him, but I have to respond to this. And Chad doesn't tell me what to do. I apologize to the rest of you…

Chief, Wisconsin was 26-7 entering the tourney and Michigan was 25-8. Wichita State was 34-0.

I think you need to forget about Apple and Sallie Mae Fannie and invest heavily in some touching common sense.

GET BETTER.

Lol. A+ for Chad for picking the most marginal picture of his lass-of-the-week he can find. At least he's consistent.

-Kansas. Should know better than to bet rivalry games.

-Lass hasn't tweeted in 6 months, so I assumed she never checks it. Sent her one last night mocking Chris Jones that said "If you mess up my room I'm gonna slap TF out of you"

-Veal 'Meatballs' w/ homemade sass & shirataki last night. If you do it right, those noodles are awesome in Italian dishes. Least 'noticeable' fake substitute in the game.

-That SI article on Bob Knight was pretty dope.

But they have been 25 years in a row! Don't you know that is a MUCH better achievement than UK winning it all a couple of times! Yeah, but you went to the NIT and lost to Robert Morris the very next year, no thanks lol!!!

Just remembered that last week BTI made a typically long post about being nervous about the Auburn game.

I know Jones knows this blog game better than anyone and he's tried to explain BTI's continued presence on the site, but I just don't get it.

Before I got married, there was a UK football game in which we pretty much never threw the ball past the line of scrimmage. We threw the ball to a RB in the flats over and over again with no success. I changed my FB status to "Willy is open in the flats."

Well, ol' Marge sees this and thinks it means I am dumping her and putting myself back on the market.

She didn't tell me about it for over a year. Apparently she was really upset and had super special emergency pow wows with her closest hens.

Communication, kids. Bitches aren't just crazy, their English to Hen translators are not always accurate. Accept this. Adapt.

I don't want my wife to see my Twitter. Its my thing. I don't want her anywhere around it.

-I have a fraternity brother that is one of those douche-bag UL fan bloggers and I re-tweet shit from him all the time. He blocked me so I "quote tweet". He has no idea that its me so gets so pissed and has called me out several times. This fag also de-friended me on Facebook after last years Sweet 16 game.

-LOL at Howie tweeting the UL women's game last night. Seriously what a clown.
