Grumpier old men

It’s a tough thing for me. I have no issues with folks standing up and going crazy at big plays, good runs, or toward the end of the game. But to just stand up for the whole game to stand…I don’t know. I think you have to be considerate at that point.
Well said. To me there ought to be a "standing room only" area for fans who want to stand the whole game. Nothing wrong with it.

If the person in front of me is standing, I will stand if I can't see. If I can see around them by leaning, and the person behind me is sitting, I'll stay seated.

Just do what's best for others. Rupp will be just as loud even if you sit.

Such BS. You buy your ticket I buy mine. You wanna sit then sit but I’m standing. That’s how it should be. Otherwise they need to disclose this prior to purchasing a ticket that you’re not allowed to stand and cheer the Cats on. This isn’t an opera and the more exposure it gets the more the University will need to explain and answer for it. Screw the old terds and their money I am cheering for my Cats. You don’t wanna cheer stay home.

I can't imagine the cost of tickets if the games were still at Memorial.
They def would jack tickets up but in the modern era where all your revenue is tv money…you don’t really need ticket money to survive (especially now w alcohol sales).

We could easily do a couple first come first serve games with a capped ticket price of $50 (think like buying movie tickets) in memorial a year and it not hurt the bottom line

I know. But it reeked of inconsideration for others. If I was at a game I'd for sure stand up on an exciting play, but I'd also be concerned whether my standing up affected other's ability to see the game.

I'll say it again, this is why I wish rupp had suites...so the ppl that think they're important and the ppl on hospice care could be stowed away so everyone else can cheer

Its a rivalry game for a 1st year coach on a roll and these ppl can't get excited

Blue coats calling the cops is the most absurd thing ive ever heard...and charge them with what?

You are not louder just because you stand up….kids go to these games as well. No way I could keep them on my shoulder the whole game so they can see. Standing is fine to a certain point. I for one hate seeing games at Duke , Mississippi st. Where the fans stand the whole game and scream the whole game. And before ya call me an old fart, I have always felt that way. You can still get loud in a sitting position. If there is a great play or close game fine to stand but not the whole freaking game. I guess only healthy people deserve to watch a game live. Probably not a popular opinion though.

I see both sides to this coin. It is fun to stand when you're excited, rally the team on, but you also have to be considerate of others who might not be tall enough to see over your standing, or be unable to stand up at all.
Regardless of how one feels on the issue, if that cop told the guy to sit down or else he was going to jail. That is absurd. I would make him take me to jail just so I could sue the hell out of everyone.
