Great Beer....the sequel

Not sure if I've mentioned it in this thread...

there's a beer at Ye Olde Union Oyster House called Colonial Ale. Sam Adams brews it specifically and exclusively for them. It's sublime. Without question, the best beer I've ever had.

I'm sure some of it was the ambiance and the experience/knowledge of sitting in a seat that the founders of our country sat it, but yeah, it's :fire:

Yep. Had it in 2014 there. Awesome ass beer.

Awesome food too.

I finally drank Sixpoint 5Beans last night. Stellar. Tried for well over a year to locate some in Austin, without success. Found some at a 40 year old beer store on the Kentucky-Tennessee-Virginia border.

I personally have been doing the local craft brewery thing. I started out at Independence Brewing Co in Austin a while back for their on site brewed beer. Then I went to an America on Tap event in Corpus Christi, and found we have some decent local breweries right here too.

My favorite right now is Lorelei Brewing Co, they have quite a selection and I love the atmosphere. I also love finding their beer in local restaurants now around town. Also, I seem to have been able to convince my wife that a craft beer brewery taproom is not a bar! So I can go there and not get in trouble :)

I think I have found a new hobby :)

Unforeseen consequences pushed Thanksgiving to Friday. So I chugged a sixer of West 6th IPA. Pretty decent standby option. A little too malty for my taste, but gets the job done

Thought about you yesterday when I was at World of Beers. Goose Island has these Hombre series. I had a mango. But it was a Belgian that had a nice sour kick. Brewed in aged tequila barrels.

Sixpoint Puff. 9.8% ABV. Drinking some as I type this post. Found at Pappy's 3/4 mile away in Ewing Virginia, located across from the herd of four bison in a pasture. Unfiltered yet unique. Had not even heard of this beer until now. Awesome.

Yesterday/Today...

3 Floyds dreadnaught 9.5/10

Rhinegeist Dad 6/10 (for some reason I feel like I enjoyed this more last year)

Sun King Osiris Pale Ale 7/10

Sun King Sunlight Cream Ale 0/10

Sierra Nevada Celebration 8/10

Not beer, but dominated some trader joes bourbon this weekend too . Not as terrible as I expected .

Ballast Point - Sculpin (IPA) is a go-to of mine.

Its out of San Diego and I first had it at a Padres game in September.

They now have it at Meijer....who actually has a decent beer selection.

I drank Rhinegeist Dad earlier tonight. Refreshing and different.

Getting ready for the Cowboys game.
So far had a Dogfish Head Burton Baton 10% damn fine beer
Alpha King probably the best pale ale out there
Just cracked a Three Floyds Dreadnaught. First time having this. Hopefully not the last, awesome beer.

Isn't Cigar City brewing in Tampa? That's a top notch brewery.

It is. Prolly at the top of the list. Ybor City has a brewery. Then there is tampa bay brewery. Go down about 15 from tampa you can hit st.pete brewery, cycle brewery, and one of my favs, Barley Mow brewery (love this place)

Heading down to Palmetto/Bradenton area and wanted know any good brew spots places or where locals like to eat besides Cracker Barrel.

Tampa has the most bars per capita in the United States. Hit World of Beers in Tampa. It's the original World Of Beers. Awesome place. Check out those breweries I posted. You'll be fine

You gave me some dynamite Cigar City the last couple trips I made back to Orlando. Kick-ass brew. Barley Mow is good. Funky Buddha rocks, too.

Dude, I just paid $440 dollars for Cigar City Hunnaphu beer festival on March 8th.

Some of the rarest brews will be there and GD'it I'm gonna drink them all.

Can't believe I just spent $440 on a beer festival. haha

When you come back in January . I'll have you some good ones man
