Got to wait a little longer on big Z

And just how many times have you been right or shared any information from the infinite amount of sources you surely have? If you get information from any source there is a chance they might be wrong, so what if they are? It happens. Could maybe you just take everything with a grain of salt and realize it could change? Or is it more fun to crush a guy who was nice enough to share what he heard? I'm just generously curious why people take it upon themselves and go out of their way to be pricks for no reason. I mean good for you. Glad making fun of him makes you a better man than me.
Exactly, to me, just hearing something is better than nothing. Everyone acts like he is maggard or hoover posting things. Has Dave ever charged you anything like these other guys. If his information bothers you so much, don't read it. I like his comments.

Even if Cal himself is a person's source, your still not going to be right 100% of the time. People don't like to hear it, but most things are fluid. Cal calls the NCAA compliance office. "What's Bis Z's status looking like today?.. Well Coach Cal, if everything we have is true, we should have him cleared in 4 days." Cal then tells people Z will be cleared in 4 days. 5 days go bye, Z is not cleared, and Cal calls again. "Yeah Coach Cal, we found some new stuff we have to check out, get back with us in a couple days"

Was the the "insider" wrong because it did not happen in 4 days, yes, but not because the info was bad. It was correct at the time, but the situation was fluid. Why anytime I try and pass info I get, I always try and qualify it with, what I am hearing at this time, or ect.

Dave is a good poster, he won't put on stuff on here if it is not true.
Dave is definitely on the right track here. It’s not official, but Big Z will be freed.

Cal wanting to stagger them just doesn't make sense to me. He can stagger them if he chooses to, regardless of eligibility. For all the talk about "Cal only plays his favorites," surely the board can agree Cal isn't going to give Z and Ugo a ton of minutes just because he can.

More likely, Dave's gotten some wrong info here.
How many times has ccc said something that was incorrect? Yet, some still worship the ground he walks on.
Would much rather believe Dave than ccc

If Dave is correct, I can’t imagine Z is going to be thrown in against UNC for his first game back. If he does play, that means there is some major foul trouble. Foul trouble would be the only reason we would need all bigs.
We've been waiting a little bit since July.

Didn‘t Dave pop open a Shasta after he guaranteed Cade Cunningham to UK?
To be fair, Dave has explained that, who his sources were, and what he was told. CC did verbal to Calipari after BBM, and Dave was told this by a parent where he played. They even setup an announcement date with his HS coach for the following week. Once CC got home, Dad basically changed his mind.. the ole blood is thicker than water thing. Calipari flew down to FLA to try and save the committment.. But in the end, he played for his brother.

I prefer to get information from reliable sources.. understanding things do change.. We all remember Terrance Jones right? Lets stop killing the messenger. I prefer to get whats known at the time.

Well...

The problem with that argument is that I don't believe everything Cal says. I don't worship the ground he walks on. I've seen him be wrong and evasive on injury issues. So when he says something, I question it.

I've seen Dave be wrong a good number of times too. So when he makes a thread with a proclamation, I have my reservatioins.

But you choose to believe who you like.

My sense is Dave is right. Why throw something like that out there just to take it back so quickly? I also think that Dave is sincere about the info he puts out.

If Dave is right, then the only explanation that makes sense to me it that Cal wants to stagger bringing them back which means Z is free now which means Cal is being dishonest again.

I understand why he would want Ugo to have his day and then turn the focus to Z. But I'm still not sure I like what's actually going on not being revealed in real time or close to it.
So you think that if Z is eligible and cleared that Cal is holding him back…that makes no sense at all. This is almost as bad of a take as the “none of our three 7 footers will play all season” crowd.

Nobody on this team needs “their day.” All information regarding these kids is that they are great individuals and are willing to sacrifice for their teammates.

It’s not overly complicated. Big Z isn’t “officially” cleared yet, but the path for it to be finalized is within sight.

Be patient, he will hit the floor before long. I just hope people don’t think he will be some stud. He will be serviceable and a good addition to the frontcourt. Just don’t want posters to think he will come in averaging 10 and 10.

Do you have a source for this? Or just hopeful? (I am a glass half full person)...

I do think with all the "smoke" this week, there must have been some forward progress. I wonder if it has something to do with this "half semester" of classes he is taking.. Maybe he has to successfully pass those and enroll in spring semester before becoming eligible?

I'm expecting 2 points/ 2-3 rebounds a game for Onyenso. Maybe one block per game.

I'm expecting about 3-4 points/ 2 rebounds per game for Big Z.
As long as we get 15+ points/10+ rebounds/2+ blocks (limitless shot alterations) per game from Bradshaw, all good.

Z has been playing against men pros. No one on UNC will bother him. Z will be better than our other bigs.
Not always the case. Plenty of euro guys have played against pros then come to college and struggle so it’s not a set thing. Bacot and the other big (name escapes me) are better than the pros Z played against and will play in higher/tougher leagues from day one if they don’t play in the NBA or G league.

It’s as close to a “done deal” as it could be at this point. Not just optimism.
