Goodwin Enters Transfer Portal

You have zero clue how he preformed in practice. Do you honestly think if he could have helped the team they wouldn’t have played him. He wasn’t ready.
You are right about that since I never saw a single practice. . And neither did you.

But, what I do know, since I saw every game this year, is how poorly the O line played all year.

LT and LG were two VERY WEAK positions this year.

Giving KG a few actual game snaps would not have significantly diminished the OLine play. Even if it was just on run plays.

There were zero irreplaceable players on the O line this year. ZERO!

I trust the coaches. If they don’t think he could handle himself then who am I to question it. As up and down as the line was don’t you think if he was good enough to play they would have played him.

No doubt our Oline has cost us. It is amazing that Goodwin could not get some snaps, but almost the entire Oline was fubar this year. I think there is still a small chance Yenser could be gone before the spring. Reading what Liam Coen has said in LA, he is still focused on the Rams and finishing out there the right way. He has probably talked on the phone with Stoops about recruiting a Qback out of the portal. But Boulware must have been hired without input from Coen. Boulware has a connection with Bob Stoops though OU, and that was his path to Mark. I doubt Coen has had time to consider what to do about the Oline, but he will have to. Once the Oline comes into focus for him, he has a decision to make. All signs indicate Coen was onboard for Yenser before Coen left for LA. But that was a year ago, and Yenser has a track record in Lexington now. Maybe Coen stays, or maybe a change gets made after the bowl. I could see either.
I agree. I believe the O line coaching decision will be left up to Coen after he comes on board.

I have no doubt that he was not ready for SEC play.

My point is, neither was at least 3 of the 5 O- lineman ready for SEC play, yet Yenser or the staff allowed them to play through their mistakes over and over again.

Do you not think KG would have improved over the year if given the same opportunity to play in games???

And please don't try to tell me how far out of shape he was. If he was in good enough shape to play on ST, he could have taken some snaps on offense.

KG or his handlers obviously felt like he was mishandled by the UK coaching staff, or he wouldn't be in the portal right now.

I will say, that anytime you have to beg a recruit to sign with you and he struggles as much as KG did in deciding between UK and Mich State, that usually doesn't end well for the school who signs them first.

Anything that doesn't go their way and they are wishing they had signed with the other school.

With the transfer portal, and knowing a couple of schools in the ear of his handlers making better offers, it is best for everyone that he just moves on.

For whatever reason. It really doesn't matter at this point.

3 high schools in 4 years

2 colleges in two years

Put it this way I talked to someone that couldn’t be closer to source at UL…he was on their campus today…

I told the guy with the trend expect him at Indiana. Next year!

Then he must've been really bad. Why is the most simple thing so hard for ppl to accept?

I guess we're having back up QB syndrome for every position now.

This is why none of you are coaches...you'd be a disorganized mess throwing anything and everything out there hoping the next big thing just hasn't got their chance.

Lackford is 0 for 2 this week on UK player news, would love to see him be 0-3. But, this one could be right with Stoops bringing in an experienced LT for next season. Goodwin's lack of playing time has been surprising considering how highly rated he was out of HS. Landon Young played as a true Freshman, but Drake Jackson redshirted and waited his turn.

Hope this is wrong. The kid just needs more time to develop, but in this day and age, it's harder to convince them of this, especially if they have people in their ear telling them the grass is greener somewhere else.
Yeah, I think he will be a good one, just have to be patient

Playing for Brohm isn’t a walk in the park. Goodwin will be looking for another school next offseason. They are buttering up Vaughn, but the kid won’t last. Brohm is very old school, hard ass.

Didn t play him.
stoops is a freaking idiot on this one .
IDIOTS. i said all season: play Goodwin or he gone.

IDIOTS. im not paying attention recruiting no more. Pisses me off this tranfer bullshit.

You realize there is a reason he wasn't playing? You can bet your last dollar he would've played if he could've even somewhat been competitive out there

Somehow I think Vince is on the other end of the texting in that pic

Might be a rerun of the drama of 12 months ago

Step away from the ledge, dude. I hate to see Goodwin QUIT and go somewhere else, but based on that photo Dallas-Wild posted, he’s nowhere near to be in playing shape.

This isn’t like Couch bailing after the 96 debacle. In one sense he’ll be missed but he’s not irreplaceable.

I’m not going to wish him good luck or bad luck, other than hoping he stays injury free.

Coen was the one who wanted yenser in the first place. Why would he now not want him?
Ummm......from watching game film of the O Line this year?????

Maybe? I don't know. But pretty sure Liam will evaluate that decision just like Stoops had to evaluate his decision of hiring Scang and the RB coach.

Sometimes you make a bad decision. The only people who don't are those who have actually never had to make an important decision in their entire life.

I trust Liam Coen to make whatever move needs to be made for his offense to be successful.

We owe him that imo.

No doubt they had struggles but they started rounding into form the vandy game. They looked really good last two games. They didn't get much help from their QB and seemed to really show improvement once the come to Jesus meeting that scang simplify some things.

At his height, I'd say closer to 500 pounds. I'm shocked our coaches let him get that big. Or I guess he could have packed out it on in the last month? Either way, if he can't get that under control he will never play anywhere.
Possible considering how tall he is maybe pushing that weight, coaches can only do so much. The player has to be accountable also, apparently showed up for camp over weight.

They looked better against.........
Vandy and UL.

Let that sink in a minute.

And Georgia. Why would you leave that one out?

I'm all for whoever Coach Stoops feels is best for the job, but Scang was the BIGGEST hindrance to our O-Line this season.

Yenser has done a WHALE of a job recruiting also. If Goodwin doesn't put in the necessary work needed to compete in the SEC, it's best that he goes NOW.

Antonio Hall's son is READY to BLOW UP!!!

Lol. Might want to take this message back to the basketball board with you when you leave here.
Over there crying over a 3 star that Cal won't play in Adue.

How many 5 stars does Cal sit and they stay to ride the bench??

We over here trying to get our one and only 5 star out on the field during an actual game so he WOULDN'T TRANSFER....

How hard is that for you to understand???

It's not like we were playing for a NC this year....or even the SEC championship. He!!, we didn't even compete for the SEC EAST this year.

Cal's Cats play UCLA at 5:30.

Exactly. That Georgia game was as impressive OL performance as we saw around here the last few years; and with much less talent. Anyone ignoring that game is just pushing an agenda.

I was all for a change until that game.

Also no need to minimize the performance vs UL. UL has one of the most aggressive defenses in cfb and led the nation in sacks. Ya the OL made it look easy but it definitely wasnt
