Global Climate Changes

damn, you feeling guilty about something ur doing?? You expect a pilot to quit his job, because the airline doesn’t use zero emission fuel?
Airlines will make decisions that suit them best. I don’t know the feasibility of zero emission jet fuel and don’t care.

Is it ok for one to preach to the world how to live, and then violate what he preaches “because my boss says so”? Where is the conviction?

Also what is your excuse? You’re preaching how people should live, yet you don’t do it yourself? No boss to hide behind in your case…

most pilots I have met, have wanted to fly since they were children. It’s a passion. It’s a priority thing to me. He loves his flying and also wishes everyone, himself included would do a better job cleaning the planet’s atmosphere.

I try to love everyone. I’m a sinner. I do appreciate the reminder

I understand it’s expensive, but…… The solar panel would power the house, that charges the car. Likely, the homeowner with solar panels, is running at an energy surplus and sells excess power to local power company. The solar panels would also keep the Tesla powerwall at a full charge, for any power outages.

Cost
-20,000 for solar panels to run entire house
-EV cost is 50,000
-Powerwall is 10,000

80,000 all in. Serious money, but doable

There are some savings wrapped into the 80,000, like
-Zero monthly power bills
-zero monthly gasoline bills at chevron

Both of these equal about 7,000 a year
You are soooo full of shit.

Why he became a pilot is irrelevant. People like him claim we are in a climate crises because people won’t change their behavior. So if it is truly a climate crises, why is he not changing his? Why is he judging others while he’s the biggest offender?

Again, you have to practice what you preach in order to gain credibility. Screaming for others to cut emissions while you’re flying a jet all over the world just makes you look stupid.

In your case, telling others to spend close to $100k to cut emissions while not doing so yourself makes you look foolish.

I can respect someone who practices what they preach, even if I disagree with it. The “do as I say, not as I do” approach will never gain traction. Yet that is all we are offered by climate alarmists.

I was asked how to cut emissions. I gave an answer.

Love the mental gymnastics. So you don’t see the hypocrisy of this guy preaching how everyone needs to be carbon neutral, yet he CHOOSES to be in a profession that spews more carbon than just about everyone else???

Is there no conviction in achieving this goal to save the world? Why does he get to violate his own religion while yelling at everyone else to comply?

Why do you get to scream about solar panels etc, and how attainable they are, yet you don’t have them?

Leaders that don’t practice what they preach are not leaders at all. They are nothing but hypocrites. Like you…
Virtue signaling is more important than real life changing actions. The power to control others is what many want.

Stop driving your car, using your phone, watching TV, and heating/lighting your house. Oh, and grow/raise your own food.

Boom! You just saved the planet for us all. It’s that easy, people.
It’s even easier to stop having unwanted babies. If we tied birth control education to the massive amounts of welfare aid in this country and the countries we dole out aid to, we’d help reduce the number population of the world. Population reduction is the solution to all of mankind’s problems.

Too widespread to be a coincidence. Governments around the world want to reduce population. You’ll never convince me otherwise. And that’s why I have a healthy (maybe a bit unhealthy) skepticism of our own.

Overpopulation is a serious threat and our world governments know it.
So letting in 250,000 illegal aliens per MONTH and overpopulating America with new babies will stem the tide??? lol…… Biden and company sound soooooo worried. The talking out both sides of the mouth never stops. Ever.

So you don’t think governments consider worldwide overpopulation an issue?

To be honest? Opinions are all over the place and just like climate change, anyone that claims they for sure know the answer is a blowhard or is making money off of it.

PS, why has the earth gone through much hotter periods of time with zero humans on it/zero carbon footprint??

🤷‍♂️ I’m not a MM climate change truther, but am a believer that governments the world over want to depopulate the earth. In a controlled manner, obviously.

I’m sorry, Cold Stout Beer. I thought you were offering up Musk as a joke. His idea of a population crisis is rooted in economics, not the environment.

He’s a businessman so an ever growing population translates to sales of his products. Makes sense. That’s how capitalism works.

However, we don’t have to sacrifice capitalism in order to stop the assault upon the environment. While the term “economic contraction” scares the crap out of most economists, we’re fast approaching conditions on earth that will demand the use of this tool.

We undergo economic contractions continuously, the last major one being the “Great Recession” of 2008-2009. The world survived it and came back strong. It was caused by foolish socialistic economic policies worldwide, but especially in this country.

We can also survive economic contractions that are caused by population reductions, equating to reductions in demand. It will take longer since we’d have to rely upon attrition of the population rather than killing off a sizable portion of the masses, but it can work; and, at some point it will have to be done. The consequence of not saving the environment is the loss of that which sustains us.

The founder of the weather channel Over the past 15 years, John Coleman became a vocal doubter of human contributions to climate change and opposed actions to address the challenge. As recently as December 2017, he wrote, “There is no significant man-made global warming at this time, there has not been any in the past and there is no reason to fear any in the future. He stated that global warming was nothing more than a political game to control the world and bring on globalism. The world must stand up and fight these bastards.

El nino? That and la Nina are a blast from the past, back before global warming hoax. Back in the day when actual science knew there was naturally occurring weather phenomenon rather than some money/power grabbing witch hunt.

Surprised any media, even small market ones, are allowed to even utter these names

No. Population will naturally level and begin to decrease. We don’t have to “control” it. But( those who want to control it should go first.

There’s no sign that the human population of earth is leveling off. We’ve added 2 billion people within the past 26 years. An additional billion humans are added every 12-13 years. At this rate there will be 10 billion people by 2050 and a staggering 14 billion by 2100.

Some population scientists point to the aging populations of Japan and some European countries as evidence that birth rates decline as developing nations become prosperous. They fail to take into account, I think, that there are many more developing nations than developed ones.

As the populations of a few nations decline, the spillover of people from poorer nations will more than make up for the loss of people in developed countries. We are seeing this in action in our own country at our southern border. Europe, too, is experiencing an unmanageable influx of economic migrants from poor nations in Africa and the Middle East.

I saw this same flawed appeal to authority here on the Paddock many years ago. It was stupid then and is stupid now. So what if John Coleman founded The Weather Channel? How does that make him an expert? His degree was in journalism, not climatology or meteorology or any other form of science.

Scientists who have studied the issue see the population increasing for about another couple decades, if I recall correctly, and then declining.

There are scientists, too, who have studied the issue and see a continued unchecked increase to the 22nd century and beyond, the most notable being David Attenborough. His lifelong research of earth’s species, including humans, concerns him greatly. He urges us to put the brakes on the growth of the human population beginning now to avoid losing many other species in the near future.

Well, Attenborough thinks humans are the plague of the earth. I don’t share that perspective. I would suspect you don’t have an opinion on that, as atoms are atoms are atoms. Time will tell.

Well, he has studied the subject all of his life and he’s 97 years old so you’ve got to think he’s on to something.

Oh, and atoms are not the smallest units of size. String Theory takes us far below the Planck length (LP = (hG/2πc3)1/2) which is the smallest size we can measure at this time.

Agree to disagree. He questioned whether we should send aid to third world countries. Not my kind of guy, regardless of his age and how he utilized his degree in economics. The man worth tens of millions questioning aid to third world countries. Not sure he is on to anything good.

LOL. No shit.

Nice. Not relevant. My point stands.

Sorry, I took “atoms are atoms are atoms” as your implication that atoms are the smallest particles in nature. Glad to know you don’t think that’s the case.

I don’t know anyone who has had even a bit of chemistry who thinks atoms are the smallest particles. I was referring to your comment in the other thread, where YOU referenced molecules and atoms.

As a reductionist thinker, I say that there are many processes that the brain performs, many of which we are not even “conscious,” such as breathing, heart beating, etc. Consciousness seems magical until we realize that it, too, is just another process of the brain.

The sophistication of human consciousness is so advanced that it stands far removed from any other species that is alive or has ever lived on earth. No other species employs symbolism, for example. To us its second nature.

The mistake we make, IMO, is to think of consciousness as a thing, something ethereal that exists independent of our living body; that it can survive the breakdown of our bodies into the molecules and atoms that were assembled and led to the organism in which it originated.

When we acknowledge that it isn’t an it at all, but a process of a genuine it, the brain, then we can better understand that we experience consciousness because we’re alive and that that process will end along with all the other more mundane processes of our bodies upon our deaths.

These conversations are temporally connected. They may appear to be separate silos, but they don’t independently exist.

You make a lot of assertions. I try to stay within the realm of observable knowledge.
