Global Climate Changes

The brainwashed and miseducated always consider the intelligent people who think for themselves to be uneducated. All the examples you give are absurd and irrelevant.
Are you seriously denying that you drink 10w-30 as a protein shake?
You seem to be a serious intelligent person. Will be tough to fool you with my left wing propaganda on here. I’ll have to ask my antifa buddies for some suggestions. I mean they were able to fool a lot of people on that capitol insurrection stuff. They may have some ideas. Nah, I’ll just email George Soros directly.

Montpelier, Vermont, set an all-time record maximum for rain that has ever fallen in one day on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. “Make no mistake, the devastation and flooding we’re experiencing across Vermont is historic and catastrophic,” Vermont governor Phil Scott said on Tuesday.

On June 27, Canada surpassed the record set in 1989 for total area burned in one season when it reached 7.6 million hectares, or 18.8 million acres. And the total has since increased to 9.3 million hectares, or 23 million acres, which is being driven by record-breaking high temperatures, turning the vegetation into kindling for wildfires to race through.
Those record Canada wildfires have blanketed parts of the United States in smoke, causing some of the worst quality in the world at various points.

In all of 2022, there were 18 separate billion dollar weather and climate disaster events according to data from NOAA, including tornado outbreaks, high wind, hailstorms, tropical cyclones, flooding, drought, heatwaves and wildfires. So far, there have been 12 billion-dollar weather and climate disasters in 2023, according to NOAA.

“This year will almost certainly break records for the number of extreme weather events,” Paul Ullrich, professor of regional and global climate modeling at University of California at Davis, told CNBC.
Global warming is making extreme weather events more severe, scientists said.
“Our own research shows that the observed trend toward more frequent persistent summer weather extremes — heat waves, floods, — is being driven by human-caused warming,” Mann told CNBC.
Ullrich agrees. “Increases in the frequency and intensity of heatwaves, floods and wildfires can be directly attributable to climate change,” Ullrich told CNBC.

“Through the emission of greenhouse gases, we have been trapping more heat near the surface, leading to increases in temperature, more moisture in the air, and a drier land surface,” Ullrich said. “Scientists are extremely confident that an increasing frequency and intensity of extreme events is a direct consequence of human modification of the climate system.”
Also in June, the weather pattern called ”El Niño arrived.
El Niño is like adding lighter fuel to an already smoldering fire. “Under recently emergent El Niño conditions, temperatures are pushed higher worldwide, further compounding increases in temperature brought on by greenhouse gas emissions,” Ullrich said.
That combination of anthropogenic climate change and El Niño is “spiking some of these extreme events,” Mann said.

El Niño, which means “little boy” in Spanish, happens when the normal trade winds that blow west along the equator weaken and warmer water gets pushed o the east, toward the west coast of the Americas. In the United States, a moderate to strong El Niño in the fall and winter correlates with wetter-than-average conditions from southern California to the Gulf Coast, and drier-than-average conditions in the Pacific Northwest and Ohio Valley.
When global warming and El Niño are hitting at the same time, “it can be difficult separating what is just a weather event or if it is part of a longer trend,” Timothy Canty, professor in the department of atmospheric and oceanic science at University of Maryland, told CNBC.
But what is clear is that climate change makes it more likely that an extreme weather event will happen.
“Higher temperatures from climate change are indisputable, and with each degree increase we’re multiplying our changes of getting an extreme heat wave. In the wetter regions of the world, including the Northeastern US, we’re expecting more rain and more intense storms,” Ullrich told CNBC. “To avoid even more extreme changes, we need to both reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and act to clean up our polluted atmosphere.”
And as long as global greenhouse gas emissions continues to increase, the trend of more and more frequent extreme weather is expected to continue, Mann says.
Decreasing the greenhouse gas emissions released into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels will help moderate the extreme weather trends.

Four stations in Death Valley made a run at beating the all-time world heat record on Sunday, hitting a temperature of at least 53.3 degrees Celsius (127.7°F). This is just short of the all-time world record for reliably measured temperature of 54.4 degrees Celsius (130°F), set on July 9, 2021. (According to an email from Randy Cerveny of Arizona State University, the World Meteorological Organization is working to verify the 2021 reading, and the sensor is currently at an independent testing facility for calibration testing and verification. A reading of 134°F from Death Valley on July 10, 1913, which is currently shown at the AMO/ASU climate site as the world’s all-time record high, has been disputed and discounted as unreliable by multiple researchers.)

Saratoga Spring, located at the south end of Death Valley National Park at an elevation of 198 feet, was the hottest location on Sunday, reporting the sixth-hottest reliably measured temperature in world history: 53.9 degrees Celsius (129°F). Astonishingly, Death Valley’s Badwater Basin, after peaking Sunday at a temperature of 53.6 degrees Celsius (128.5°F), cooled off remarkably slowly overnight, recording a temperature of 48.9 degrees Celsius (120°F) between midnight and 1 a.m. local time, a unique occurrence in world climate history, according to a tweet from climatologist Maximiliano Herrera. In an email, Herrera said he was not aware of any previous cases of a temperature exceeding 46 degrees Celsius (115°F) at midnight local time, commenting, “49°C after midnight is absolutely mind-blowing. It’s more mind-blowing than 40°C in London or 50°C in Canada. It stretches the imagination of what is physically possible on planet Earth.”

Here’s is Earth’s new top-ten list of hottest reliably measured temperatures:

1) 54.4° C (130.0°F), 7/09/2021, Furnace Creek (California, U.S.);
2) 54.4° C (129.9°F), 8/16/2020, Furnace Creek (California, U.S.);
3) 54.1° C (129.4°F), 7/10/2021, Furnace Creek (California, U.S.);
4) 54.0° C (129.2°F), 6/30/2013, Furnace Creek (California, U.S.);
4) 54.0° C (129.2°F), 7/21/2016, Mitribah (Kuwait);
6) 53.9° C (129.0°F), 7/16/2023, Saratoga Spring (California, U.S.);
6) 53.9° C (129.0°F), 7/17/1998, Furnace Creek (California, U.S.);
6) 53.9° C (129.0°F), 7/19/2005, Furnace Creek (California, U.S.);
6) 53.9° C (129.0°F), 7/06/2007, Furnace Creek (California, U.S.); and
6) 53.9° C (129.0°F), 7/22/2016, Basra International Airport (Iraq).

So, the hottest temperatures ("reliably measured") in the history of the multi-billion year old earth have all occurred since 1998? Interesting. Is anyone with an agenda positing these "phrases" or "propaganda"?

It is going to snow this December/Jan/Feb....same as it has for decades. Farmers Almanac said so.

If global warming were so serious, why would the one guy who likely has more Intel than anybody and can get whatever info he wants whenever he wants it (Barack H Obama) build a new place on Martha' Vinyard? And why do rich people keep buying beachfront houses?
Why do some people still smoke?

I'll put it another way, if the 1/2 of our government who said they were for climate change legislation were actually serious about solving climate change they would do the following:
  1. Immediately focus on nuclear (they aren't and they hold that up)
  2. Immediately focus on carbon capture via nuclear (they are not)
  3. Get significantly more serious about blocking solar radiation via particles in the atmosphere
  4. Increase (not decrease) the amount of dams in the US generating hydropower
I am actually in the camp that we start on these things. I'm not sure I fully believe the dire warnings, but I'm willing to view it as a potential risk worthy of taking out an insurance policy against (which is what the above would do).

But the only thing the left seems to want to do is limit energy production (which isn't going to fly), and stall.

Great post! I think we will have to use all forms of low to zero emission energy.

Green hydrogen can be used to power the electric grid

Solar panels on houses can power the entire house and charge EVs at a surplus

Carbon capture has many different uses

Zero emission jet fuel

Fuel Cells

Not to mention, the new and future ideas

Smart people don’t smoke. Smart people - with allegedly perfect information - are still investing in things that allegedly will be destroyed by client change. If this was a more serious threat, wouldn’t you see them all move hundreds of miles inland and north?
I think you have just offended a lot of people on this board.

If you had any self-awareness of how dumb this statement actually is, well…

Sorry....no self awareness on this one, given it will snow this winter, and the Farmers Almanac did say so. Why is that any dumber than predicting the earth will burn up in some galopodillion years like all of you tree huggers?

Why have many, many, many more in America stopped? The more intelligent have figured it out. Sorry you don't qualify.
But all these people who stopped smoking have been duped into believing that smoking is bad for you. The anti tobacco crowd has pushed this agenda for decades beholden by a complicit medical industrial complex keen on selling its nicotine patches and smoking cessation programs. This campaign has destroyed the economy causing bars and comedy clubs to close at unprecedented rates. The tobacco companies tried to tell people that smoking was not unhealthy nor addictive with real unbiased science, but the woke leftist with their freedom raiding scare tactics using cancer, high blood pressure at the not just would not stop until they were able to deny people their god given right to smoke in a restaurant. Thank god the gun industry and the fossil fuel industry have stood up to these bs freedom robbing leftists trying to destroy america. I mean these people are nuts. So I say don’t back down. Go out and buy a carton of cigarettes today light up while you’re topping off your f250 tank letting it spill over onto ground, and just drive the open road man. Find some tree hugging china loving commie and blow exhaust and and smoke in their face at the same time.
Does church start at 10:30 or 11:00 this Sunday?

Thank god the “green energy” industry has no financial interest in pushing the United States towards “green energy” and its all done out of the kindness of their hearts.

You people are just gullible fools.

Just go work for big pharma or a defense contractor and participate in their grifts instead of continuing to push your global warming grift.

Interesting you should bring that up.

Not too long ago at all, Conservatives like yourself were rallying around the tobacco industry. All this talk of kids being lured into smoking, nicotine being dangerously addictive, smoking being a root cause of lung cancer-all this was dismissed by Conservatives like you as "crazy, commie libtards, manipulating science to destroy our economy.

Of course when the tobacco industry executives were hauled before congress and lied outright about the addictive and deadly qualities of nicotine, who rallied behind them? Republican Senators such as Mitch McConnell and Jessie Helms and of course their conservative minions. Conservatives, just like you, flooded media at the time with quotes like.."my granny smoked every day and lived to be 95"..which come to think it sums up today's conservative logic.

I understand your pain, but the world will be better off when you realize you're on the wrong side of science and history, and become a little more openminded.

BS post. Your post has nothing to do with my point. The point was that a great many "Americans" had wised up and stopped. You have no clue who I was rallying around. You assume too much. Once again as I posted earlier, either you are to dumb to see what is going on or you are corruptly complicit.

Different scenarios and different situations but same old BS from the likes of you. Can't stay with the subject matter discussed especially when shown that even you own leaders do not believe the BS they are spreading otherwise they would live life accordingly. But you keep on goosestepping to your master's march.

Seems like a stupid waste of time to fight to keep minimum wages low when the market is already forcing you to pay much more than minimum wage.

But hey, if you guys weren’t fighting dumb imaginary fights you’d need to actually do something productive with your time. And we can’t expect that of you.

That's the problem with the world now. Money used to impact legislation. Most conservatives have been and are still in favor of this method. Now the right has learned that money can actually fund destabilization which they can use to force specific agenda's. Every fundamental belief for conservatives is under attack and it's being funded by a relatively small group that wants to change the balance of power in the world. What's scary is it's happening in real time and has progressed much faster than anyone thought it would. The only saving grace is the bud light opposition which does show there is still a very significant group out there willing to do what they can to push back, but had all better be rowing in the same direction in Nov 2024 or this country is in trouble.

I’d like to see a source for the claim most conservatives are in favor of money impacting legislation. That’s nonsensical.

You sound angry. Why? You seem to have it all right now. Your side is winning. A righteous man is slow to anger, or something like that.

Yea, but we can’t give an inch. If we go to 15 then they’ll want 30. I mean already none of these kids want to work for free any more. I mean how am i suppose to make any money?

It is more in line with legislating vs funding right wing groups to try to and force a new culture. Money is always going to be a part of both conversations but not really the main point as far as legislation.
