Get Ready for 20-12 Type Season

Yeah, I watched the game. And as I recall we got our asses kicked from the opening tip. Lee would have done nothing to help our chances. UCLA was hitting shots all over the floor, so it's not like his interior D would have mattered. Or maybe he would have been the guy to shoot over the zone? C'mon.....
This is what I am thinking as I read all the "Lee was out" posts. I don't think he changes a thing in the results. Love Lee but he is easy to move around. This team really needed a big physical presence inside and it is going to be tough in SEC play in getting by without one.

20-12? Well it's only a 31 game regular season, so only 23 games left. To finish with 12 losses, UK would have to go 13-11 (including one SEC Tournament game) to go 20-12. That ish ain't happening.

I can't say having Lee would have made a difference but you can't say having him wouldn't have made a difference. It sure as hell wouldn't have cost us to have him and Poythress is the second half. A couple of you are so obvious it's like you're not even trying to fly under the radar.

OK Fans we lose 1 game on the Road across the Country and we have a couple of injuries and we are now going to lose 12 games. Coach Cal will get this figured out underneath and we will be fine. Skal has the potential to be an outstanding player and He will be fine. We do have other options and of course POY had a tough game and over last few games before this loss POY had been getting better. We just had a bad game tonight and we had that one stretch in 1st half when we were only down 1 with close to 9 minutes left in 1st half and UCLA went on that run and p ushed it out to 11 and we didn't score nearly 4-5 minutes during that stretch. It stayed around that scoring Defict the rest of the night at 10-12 points and we couldn't put a run together. In games with Duke and a couple last week we kept it close heading into half and then we would go on a run in 2nd half to push the lead to double digits to 20 points. We just couldn't pull the run together tonight tonight ad stayed at 10-12 points all of 2nd half. We will be fine.

no post presence on offense or defense. that can be over come if you roll out a lineup with 4 perimeter shooters, but we only have 1 or 2 (murray and ulis).

our only hope is to play matthews, humphries and waynard as many minutes as possible. become a lockdown defensive team. poythress is a waste of time. skal isnt going to magically gain 30 lbs or become physical overnight.
Welcome To Ignore

Poythress, really? The guy who got dunked on by a dude several inches smaller than him? Him fouling out only helped our chances. He was a liability most of the game.

Geezus, it's ok to be critical of the team when they play like garbage guys! I wasn't pissed after the Wisconsin loss and I wasn't pissed after the 11 games we lost the year before. Tonight pissed me off because they went out like *****es. To say otherwise is pure homerism.

OP, I will bet you any amount of money that we don't.

They'll lose 7-8 going into tournament play..
I concur. I was disappointed last night but this team is way closer to the 2011 team than the 2013 team. Still young. Gonna lose some games they shouldn't. But by season's end they will be much improved and will be ready to make a tournament run. People need to chill the hell out.

In 2011/12 we lost to Indiana early on, and that season turned out OK. I'm not comparing the two teams, but an early season loss means zilch in the grand scheme.
We lost on a last second shot to a sweet 16 team, this one we got beat down by a NIT team, big difference.

I'm not sure that UK is the SEC's best this year but you still won't lose more than six games.

Dude, you are smoking something strong. 1 loss team now is a fringe tourny team? Pluuuueeesssseeee.

Our team will be a number one seed in March bank it. We have 1 loss ucla was not bad we have injuries freshman traveling across country to play their first road game. This was a perfect game to put us under mental and physical pressure to see where the leaks are. Cal will fix them. Ucla s Super Bowl after what we did last year. This is very mental right now let these guys get comfortable. Someone said skal hasn't played in year neither has poythress

12 losses would be the max and the worst they could do. To me it looks like a 6-9 regular season loss team. 6 if Skal gets going and quits being stopped. 9 if he sucks ass away from home which I suspect will be the case.

Why does everyone seem to think Lee would have made all the difference? UCLA was already well ahead when he left the game.

He played 4mins. If you don't understand how him being out made a difference, why even bother posting on a basketball forum?

My goodness. You really don't know!

1. He had 2 rebs in 4mins. We could have used the extra 6 or 8 probable rebounds he would have provided.
2. Poythress could have been used differently and not picked up his 4th foul so early.
3. He could have stepped out on Welsh and provided some semblance of a contest on his shots.
4. He would have been much better suited to deal with the pick and roll than Humphries.
5. He is probably or best interior defender.
6. He is a junior and you could tell we had ait of freshmen on the floor last night.

Given all that I can see how you would think he wouldn't have made a difference. [eyeroll]

Vandy is going to beat us 3 times. Sorry but I see it coming from a mile away. Their big will own us and they can stroke it from outside. Vandy will win the SEC this year. We need to come to grips and lower our expectations. After watching this team for the first time I said 6-10 losses and an SEC regular season or tourney win and a Sweet 16 would be great for this team. I have seen nothing to change my mind. We look like one of Billy Donovan's old soft Florida teams, to be honest. Lots of talent but just no defense and soft as a baby's ass.

UCLA is only an NIT team if they choose to be. If they play like that all year they are a 2 or 3 seed.

Here's something funny. Almighty Kansas couldn't even wake them up. It takes an elite team like Kentucky to get UCLA to play.. Kansas? Meh.. We'd rather enjoy the nice weather, wake us up when Kentucky gets here.

deleting this lest UK fans think I'm laughing at anything other than that post.

You never cease to amaze. That's one of the dumbest things you've ever written. If Kansas was playing UCLA at Pauley and ranked #1 they'd be all over them too, especially if they beat them as bad as UK did last year. I guess they just weren't trying in Hawaii though.

Jesus, just go away already. It's Kansas and they were still top5. Act like you've been there.

You're an idiot

So we beat Duke and we're going to be 40-0, then lose a tough road game when the opponent shoots 52% making jumpers and we're 20-12.

Lol. The truth is some where in between.

We had no rhythm last night. I think we can win until UL game (no prediction yet)by setting up good 3pt shots and working Poy inside. I believe that we will lose about 7-8 games before NCAA because we can not dominate inside. Murray, Briscoe, Matthews, Skal and Humphries will get better. We seem to forget that 5 of our top 8 players are freshmen.

We are going to be 11-1 going into SEC play most likely. I doubt UK goes 10-8 in the SEC. This thread is so obviously started by a troll idk why I am addressing this post.

I see at KU, at Vandy, at LSU, at A&M as additional losses most likely. Anything else would be a big surprise to me.

I agree but be prepared to be called a troll for stating facts.

And you're an idiot too.

CUTNETS likes your post, my point is proven.

You're an idiot too CUTNETS. Never seen a more negative fan in all my life. I honestly believe that you root against us, just so you can bitch about it. You're pathetic excuse for a fan. You "like" every single negative post on this board and it's sickening. You don't deserve to be a UK fan. Neither does the OP or this wanna poster.

UCLA caught UK on an off-night and you have a lot of really talented freshmen who will grow from this. To be honest I think this makes beating UK tougher going forward.

Not sure what it's going to take to ban them, they bring nothing to the board other than trolling.
