They look good, again. Think they miss Bowers a lot, though. Having that one guy who seemed to always be open, caught everything near him and made big play after big play is hard to replace, even with Georgia's recruiting prowess.

Defense still looks stout with speed all over the field. Beck is really good. Their top RB, Etienne, not playing today so they'll be better running with him.

Tall order for anyone to beat them this year, it appears.

They are young in the secondary and dont have a dominant player like years past. They wont be playing us in Georgia like they are Clemson either.
They have defeated UK. 14 times in a row as well. These guys are tired of losing to them plus we have a former Georgia QB and a former Georgia LB.
It will be a 1 score game; thats all Im gonna say.

They are so ridiculously good. 40 straight regular season wins.

Come on man, we are not on their level. It would be amazing to play them in a tight game. It’d we beat them then yeah but you really believe UK is the team that will stop their streak?

Wasn't impressed with UGA. They may end up really good but it felt like Clemson's defense gave up because if the offense's inability to do anything and it took UGA almost an entire half to score a TD and they didn't score in the first. They certainly don't have the same look as the last few years.

Kirby has built something special. He could pull a Saban quicker than Saban. Have half a dozen titles before he's 60. I mean he's not even 50 which is when a lot of coaches hit their stride and really take off.

They could've beat every team in that play off last year. I think they can beat any of the other favorites this year.

Bama and Texas are their only real challenges. Dawgs have an edge on both of them, I think.

Also Wk 1. I'm sure Kirby wasn't thrilled with their performance early.

Remember when UGA lost the SEC Championship last year and people were like "Yeah, they don't belong in the playoffs?" And then proceeded to kick the ever living ish out of FSU?

Yeah, don't discount UGA. Smart has built a dynasty down there.

Show me on the field, they lost a ton, and didn't look the same. I did say they may turn it up as we go on but that game wasn't it. Clemson is doodoo and living off name recognition at this point.

Again, Wk 1. All teams will get better (hopefully) as we go. Clemson needs a new coach, but they've got some decent players (sounds familiar....)

Kirby isn't gonna let his career and rep fall apart that easy.

UGA played a top 15 team coming off a 9 win season, with a couple returning frosh AA, a legit AA and won by 4 TDs. This with the top 2 RB out, but Frazier is probably top 2 from now on. Kept Clemson out of endzone, how much better could UGA gave done?

Clemson plays in the ACC, glad you're happy with that performance I guess. Didn't look like the #1 team to me. Good luck with your season.

And won 2 NC in the last 10 years, beat their SEC instate rival 8 out of 10 years. It wasn't a perfect outing, but it was a good opener against a quality opponent. Would it have been more impressive playing Mercer and beating them by 60 like several SEC teams have done. A couple of them I didn't know played football.

We will beat them eventually, whynot in Ky with one of our better teams?

Yeah, but you think this every year, I will never go into a game with them under Smart thinking we will win home or away. Especially when they haven’t lost in 40 straight games. The one game they lost was by what a late FG for the playoff birth they still should have received?

Georgia has it rolling. They would be sitting on a three-peat if they had gotten into the playoff last season.

We would legit need them to turn the ball over 3-4 times to have a chance to win that game IMO. If we scored 24 on their defense I’d be happy. It would have to be a 24-17 type win.

UK will beat us soon, it could be this year, but I think 25 is much more likely. My reasoning for this is Beck being an experienced SEC starter, next year UK will have that advantage. Just an opinion, I thought UK looked very good.

I thought Brock played pretty well for his first start, a little surprised he ran as much as he did and even more with the hits he was willing to take. QBs don't wear the same pads as RB do.

You were right, the boy can run. I thought we looked really good but the Dawgs are on another plain. They made a top 15 team look like Vandy. It’s amazing the level of talent and execution they have every single game.

‘25 is in Athens Grump.,it wont happen in your Dawg house. Its this season. Van has got something to prove as does Dumas.
We have the defense to limit you guys and the offense to score on you. Ky will be sky high and Georgia will come in flat as a pancake.
Gonna be a thriller but UK prevails:
27-24

Its easy to forget he should have two more titles already if not for saban. 42-2 with only two losses coming to saban. Unreal.

Its insane what Kirby already accomplished and hes only 48! He could conceivably do this another 20 years. He doesn't seem interested in the nfl. He didn't take the bama job and even if he did that only shifts him instead of getting him out of the sec. So I guess we might as well get used to this.

I can't say that doesn't happen. Those 2 ex UGA players know UGA's schemes and tendencies. But the flip side of that is UGA knows the strengths and weaknesses of those 2 players. JDJ will find himself having to cover a back pretty often and force him to chase on runs. BV is a good QB, he was too young when Stetson took over and Beck has turned out to be pretty good. I am not predicting a UGA win, just that 25 is a better opportunity. Not sure why you think UGA comes out flat.

I don't think Kirby will be coaching 20 more years, 10 maybe. Just puts so much into it.

I don't how much stock I put in the opener between these two. Georgia has the potential to be lots better, but I think Clemson is clearly no longer part of the top tier and I don't think they are on the 2nd tier either.. The year Georgia broke through and won it's first title with Kirby, they opened the season and it was a grind out 10-3 game with no offensive touchdowns. Clemson probably played defensively at least, it's best game it's first game but went on to a so-so season (It think they won 10 games but no ACC title, loss to unranked team, poor schedule) and Georgia played, by far, it's worst game that year and got a WHOLE lot better as the season wore on. If they played in November, it would have been more like 56-0.

Tall order for anyone to beat them this year, it appears.
It’s definitely hard to replace a Bowers type. May take us a while to figure out who that ‘go-to’ offensive weapon is, if it’s there at all. I do think our backs will be as good as we’ve been since Chubb and Michel. Love Frazier.

Cats look to be as talented and consistent as they have been for the last decade. Should be a tough, physical game in Lexington. Looking forward to it.

I think you are right, as long as Dabo only wants "Clemson Men" he is putting them at a competitive disadvantage. But they would beat the breaks off teams like Arky pine bluff and ole dominion, and probably a middle of the pack SEC team. When we played them in 21, several things going on, Daniels the QB was hurt, Bennett was the backup, was the biggest thing.

People forget Bowers missed 4 games last fall, I don't think anyone will have his numbers. But Lovette was the number 2 guy. We just never have thst one receiver that puts up huge numbers, won't this year either, but 5-6 guys will be around or near 500 yards I think. Frazier started as RB number4, started 2nd half as number 2. Not a total surprise but imo best back we have had since Swift. Branson Robinson's injury took his quickness, hopefully he gets it back.

You put way more stock in being home or away than me HH. No matter where it's played it comes down to being prepared and execution. I am not saying no way it happens this year, I just think 25 is more likely.
