Gator Bowl it is

Clemson feels pretty meh to me probably because we’ve played them three times in last 15-18 years. I’m jealous of Louisville getting the USC draw.
Holy shit dude how many times in the last 10 yrs has Southern Cal been ranked higher than Clemson? If ranked at all most years?

But hey congrats on you & your Marcus Allen OJ Simpson posters

It’s been 14 years since we played them….and Clemson was a completely different name in football than they are now. Plus they are the 22nd ranked team the country. Stoops has a great record over the past 5 years against teams ranked 11-25. Among the teams that were probably considered, they are by far the best opponent.

My favorite part about message boards is when people try and convince you to change your mind of a view that’s only based on vibes and not data in the first place ;)

Clemson, again, meh! Will UK be able to field a team between all the portal players leaving and guys sitting out?
What the F are you talking about, son?

Clemson "again", 2009 wasn't yesterday.

What "all" portal players? In past yrs Stoops was fine taking guys in the portal on the bowl trips.

What "sitting out"? so far only Ray Davis unconfirmed social media post that could be misinterpreted. Who else is a senior or rising junior is near good enough to be drafted? I'll wait?

Don't like the bowl matchup, go away, your brilliant football analysis won't be missed

Actually, this is a very tough opponent. Would have preferred Miami as I think that would have been an easier win to keep momentum going into 2024.

Clemson has much better name recognition, though, in terms of recent performance.

I’m pretty excited to dodge the Mayonnaise bowl and play Clemson in Florida.

Clemson is still a big name in the sport. Finish the year beating Louisville and Clemson, and Stoops has bought a lot of good will going into 24.

If Bowls are exhibitions then what are Chicago Bears and Carolina Panther games or nonconference games vs MAC teams. The Last 50 Oakland A and Chicago White Sox games were exhibitions too. The game will mean a lot to the young guys trying to win starting spots. I was hoping for Charlotte for the easy drive but this a nice match up. The team with the hungriest young players often wins. Clemson will put talent in the field and UK has a great chance to end 2023 with a great experience.

Without Ray, we have very little chance against Clemson but still a much more fun game than Duke or VT in the Mayo bowl like they were saying.

Miami would have been starting their 3rd string QB. Tyler Van Dyke who started every game but the FSU game went to the Portal. Their 2nd string guy got hurt during the FSU game with an arm injury.

Clemson started the year slow but improved as the season went on.
