Gary Parish 2016 Mock Draft Lottery: Skal #1, Murray #3

I think Briscoe has a shot at the lottery as well.

Poythress will declare and might get drafted.

Lee and Ulis test the waters, then come back.

He had Harrell going # 5 in his early prediction for the 2015 draft. So much for pitino improving his stock!!

I could be wrong, but I think Poy is a lock to get drafted (assuming health). He's too athletic to not at worst be taken as an early second round late first round flyer. And if he plays like he is capably (think Bahamas Poy playing at the 4) I think he could go as high as mid first round. He just needs to play like he's on fire a la Draymond Green. I could be biased in my view though

Look at all the guys currently rated above Murray, but now picked to go behind him in the draft. "Kentucky Effect" is very real!

If Murray and Briscoe are anything near what we think they'll be, we're going to be hard to beat.

Wow Parrish knows alarmingly little about basketball. Every time I hear him or read something by him I realize more and more just how little he knows. Someone above said he had Harrell at #5 at this point last year? Wow. He has Kris Dunn at 4 this year and said he will regularly record triple doubles. Not double-doubles, triple doubles. I mean you don't just mess around and get a triple double unless you are having a really good day. I bet Dunn doesn't record a triple-double next season. How do these guys get these jobs? It must be easier than I have assumed.

I'll take that bet. Count me in on the group that believes that Dunn gets a triple-double next season. One at the very least. Kid is a stud point guard.
Very doubtful that he gets them on the regular, obviously, but he'll get one, maybe 2 or 3.

He also had the 2013 team preseason national champion. If he has a bookie his bookie is rich.

Sure he very well may get 1-2, but even that would be an achievement. It just doesn't happen alot in college.

I disagree, Parrish is very knowledgeable. I don't always agree with his thoughts but he doesn't appear to be agenda driven like so many others. I really like his podcasts, they give a well rounded view CBB. IMO of course.

I've been telling everyone here that would listen that Murray has top 10 talent, been saying it for months. He has his haters though even on this board.

I take all this draft talk with a grain of sand but everyone seems to look at these and believe that is where they are gonna be drafted at or close when they finally do get drafted. Much like the twins, people saying Cal didn't develop them because they projected to be high picks. Well they never would have been high picks. I went to watch them in HS expecting to see top 10 talent as I have watched a 100 of em over the yrs. and they were no were close to being top 10 talents. Maybe top 40, maybe. Said as much on here when they were in HS and I was told I was nuts.

After a kid goes through his workouts teams will know about where their potential is. I don't know if Murray is a top 3 talent and it would be a stretch to say so. If he is chosen that high it's because others like Ingram and Brown just did not develop much over their freshman year. Right now I think he is behind Skal, Ingram and Simmons. Not a lot but just some. What seperates those from Murray is that they are a tad more athletic and are big long players. Murray has more ball skills than any of them but that is understandable. Is he the next Seth Curry??? Or a Klay Thompson?
Of course it all depends on a teams needs and where their drafting at. Much like Russel being drafted 2nd.

I've not seen Murray play in person and only have watched a few highlight videos so I have no opinion on his draft value at this point. However I've always thought that Andrew and Aaron would be better pro's than College athletes. They are built for it. However I guess the GM's agreed more with your thinking than mine.
