Game thread Kentucky vs Florida

Close call, if that were our defender we would be screeming good hit. it is early, we are looking good. Relax

No, I wouldn’t have.

That was one time the defender had no reason to hit that high.

His forehead went straight into the facemask of Levis snapping his head back. If protecting against concussions is a big part of that rule, that was a textbook example of it.

He got hit so hard helmet to helmet his helmet came off, but it’s not targeting, but he also can’t play because his helmet came off.

Exactly, that could have been a shoulder tackle. He wanted to hit him in the head refs are either scared of being booed or on the take.

I think some people here don’t realize that Levis was forced to sit out that last play because his helmet was dislodged.

People really think Stoops would put Duece in for a 3rd and 17? C’mon man, lol.
Yeah I get not dropping hogan back on a pass in that situation, but Kentucky not being able to even get 4-5 yards in that situation is sad

Florida isn’t even any good but these guys on tv sure are acting like they are

Question for anyone that knows...even if that was not targeting is it not "helmet to helmet"?

I am not familiar with the technicalities of CFB rule book.

In the NFL that is a penalty. Seems odd college wouldn't follow that rule.

NFL changed it after that brutal Gio Bernard hit which was very similar to hit Levis just took.
Announcers said they needed an “indicator”: upward thrust, launch, etc. Helmet to helmet alone is not the standard. Seemed like they had enough to sustain the call to me.

For sure. O-line is gonna be a struggle all year. If the refs were competent it’d be a different conversation entirely though. They effectively took points off the board for us.
