Four "superclasses" shaping up

Kansas fans are delusional if they don't think there are going to be some recruiting repercussions to what happened at KU last year - a talent the caliber of Oubre falling outside the lottery and Alexander going undrafted.

UNC's recruiting has tanked not because of the NCAA investigation, but because of the mere perception that Williams held back Harrison Barnes and ruined the career of McAdoo. They may never sign another Top 10 kid as long as Roy is at the helm.

Multiple 'super classes' leads to another question....one I would ask if I was a recruit or recruit's father. Which coach can mold the talents of multiple top players in a short period of time? To the point where the recruits can/will showcase their talents which will lead to a high draft pick. Which is the goal of all these kids. We know Cal is a master at it and Coach K is without a doubt a top notch coach who accomplished it this past year. But Izzo and Gottfried I'm not so sure about. Izzo's a good/great coach but is more geared to the 4 year player. Gottfried is a decent/good coach but I don't see anything historically to lead me to believe that he's even close to Cal in developing Freshman talent.

Lets look at it this way -

Top 5 = 5 points
Top 10 = 4 points
Top 25 = 3 points
Top 50 = 2 points
Top 100 = 1 point

Based on the classes that the OP put together, this is how the points add up (based on the 24/7 composite):

Duke - 15 points (5+5+3+2)
MSU - 15 points (5+3+3+2+2)
NCST - 13 points (4+4+3+2)
UK - 18 points (5+5+3+3+2) - I didn't include Wynyard on this because I believe he's going to be added tot he 2015 class

So that would go like this then 1. UK, 2. Duke (by virtue of having two top 5's), 3. MSU, 4. NC State.

Now, if Duke gets Bolden, then that flips UK and Duke, but doesn't change MSU or NC States order.

MSU and NCSU is not even super class. Lol. Just because they have few top 20 doesn't make it super class.

Not even sure if Duke is either, they'll need to pick up 1/2 more 5*. But they do have the necessary duo to make into a super class.

I don't know how the class would rank, but if UK gets Fox and Monk, then I wouldn't trade it for any other class.

I want the best guards in the NCAA tournament and that would be one of UK's best guard tandems in our history!!

They may not shake out that way but it does look like there's going to be 3-4 schools with historic recruiting classes.

Another name to think about is Deandre Ayton. I have no info on him or any idea where he is academically... but go watch some of his videos and see if you agree that he has NO business being in high school 2 more years. I would think the people around him have to be setting him up to reclassify. Unless he wants to take the overseas professional route and make some cash after this season.

I haven't heard much buzz about him lately... if he does reclassify he probably leap frogs Giles as the #1 overall recruit. He's on record saying he likes Duke and UK too.

7'0" in shoes 7'4.5" wingspan 9'4.5" standing reach.

***Maker owned him this past summer.

Really? Wow. Wondering why the buzz has been so quiet on him this summer. I was looking forward to watching him at the elite 24 game and he didn't play that much... also didn't hear anything about him in the practice reports. Anyone hear of any injuries or any other info?

***Weird as they'll lose a lot after this season, but they've seemed to have had even more focus on the '17 Class than the '16 Class.

KU will return the core of their team next season, most likely. I haven't studied their roster much, but I think they have a lot of guys coming back.

Mason, Graham, and Greene should return in the backcourt.

Bragg, Mickelson, Lucas, and Traylor should be back in the frontcourt.

Mykhailiuk may go back home to play ball or he may come back. Not sure how that comes out.

Selden and Diallo go pro. Ellis graduates.

So they will have 7-8 upperclassmen returning next season, IMHO.

Self may feel comfortable with that team which may be why they aren't likely getting any '16 studs.

Next season may look like their '12 season with a couple of guys inside that were role players emerging as quality starters.

They should be strong in the backcourt, with lots of experience at least.

Mickelson and Traylor are gone. Mason and Greene may test the waters.

Oops, thought those guys were Juniors.

You guys need another big in the worst way then.

Definitely should be a guard oriented team.

G Graham
G Mason
G Greene
F Bragg
F Lucas

Lots of experience, Senior leadership, but you need a star inside. Not sure Bragg can be that guy.
