For you betters, #2 Houston only a 2.5 favorite @ unranked Iowa State

Iowa St. has great metrics, but they haven’t shown the ability to close out wins vs. good teams.

That’s good to know. Fvck it, I’m doubling down. Home crowd hosting the #2 team looking to take down the last undefeated. Hopefully home refs build off the energy

To me that’s easy money. Unless someone is out that I’m unaware of, Houston will win by more than that.

Fandom aside, this Houston team has the best odds at the title from what I’ve seen ( watched them 4 times). I took Houston on a 100 dollar wager months ago (I usually bet 100 bucks at the beginning of each season on the champ and that’s it) Sampson is a really good coach and someone I think wins a title before he hangs it up so this year is as good as any.

It’s at Iowa State, and there’s a notorious history of top ranked teams getting upset when they go into Hilton Coliseum, which is why the phrase “Hilton magic” was born. It’s something ISU fans are quite proud of.

I presume that helps explain the low spread. The oddsmakers are expecting the cyclones to be extra pumped for this one.

Yeah even on Kenpom where Houston has a massive efficiency margin over nearly everyone else, they are just predicted to win by 5. 70-65.

Should be an interesting game to keep an eye on. Kinda wish it wasn't happening same time as the UK game.

I ran my math and show Iowa St. by 2 at home.

That being said, if I were a betting man I’d want to see Iowa St. prove they could make some shots in the clutch before I spent hard earned money on them.

I watched them Saturday at Oklahoma. Tie game with a few minutes left. ISU wilted down the stretch. Freshman big shooting fadeaway threes.

Iowa State is a metrics fraud, like some other teams. They figured out the formula needed to impress the computers, but have failed to actually demonstrate that they can beat good teams. Houston is the play here.

Iowa State has a great record this year. But that's about it.

I have a feeling Houston is about to womp them tonight.
And that is exactly why Vegas gets rich. UK was underdogs against Florida. #8 vs unranked. Yes I know Florida didn't cover, but you get the point.
One thing to look at. How much of the $$$ is on the Houston side ? If it's 75-80% it means Joe public is on the "sure thing", sure things and locks very seldom cover. It's why you see people with gambling g problems losing it all. "No way this one can lose" , said the degenerate who lost his ass.
Gambling can be fun. But you have to set a limit you can afford to lose. Also do your homework and have a system of actually handicapping the games based on results, trends, and the actual game situations.

Seems way too fishy. I’m the type that always jumps the other side when I smell a trap. Am I overthinking this one? Or should I double down and take Iowa St ML?

Houston's sos is 175ish. Road game.

Over the long run, if you look down thru a schedule of games and blindly pick a team strictly based on lines like the Houston one, you will lose your ass.
Also, parlays and teasers are just that. Tease you to make a suckered bet that has very little chance of winning. "Man I hit 5 leg parlay. I bet $25 and won $500". Ok, but count up the 15 in a row and the 10 in a row you will lose after winning g it. Juice is all Vegas is trying to gain.

I Looked at the Houston game because I became curiousbecausr of this thread. They haven't beat anyone. Also, literally no one on the road in a rowdy gym. They have not played a road game, unless I overlooked it on the schedule. I know they had some holiday tournament games that show as road team, but a true road game at someone's gym.

Best bet of the night imo is Auburn. I like Iowa State to knock off Houston.

Houston -2.5
Texas ML
Purdue ML?
I'm throwing 15 on it since Michigan was easy money last night

This.

Vegas didn’t build all those massive casinos by not knowing what they’re doing.

Ames is a very, VERY tough place to play. Potentially one of the most underrated environments in college basketball. For a game like this, it's up there with the best of them.

Not saying Houston loses because they are clearly the better team, but that will play a factor for sure.

You're right in a way. Most ppl can't do it but start out with a $20 after all the bonus bets and shit is over with. Everytime you win a bet pull all of it all your account except the original $20 and that's how you keep up with it. If you find yourself putting $20 or more on that account often then you shouldn't brag about winning too often. I've had the same $20 on for 2 months without having to add money all the time. Alot can't do it but I can.

They both played Texas A&M, Houston beat them and Iowa State didn't and it was at home also if my memory serves me right which it usually doesn't.

Never trust a spread that low-something is fishy and the sharks know

Iowa State has been known to play 8 on 5 with striped shirts at Hilton Coliseum

Houston down 10 at half

Solid philosophy. No way a team could match better vs a team then another. Did you research and see if there was any kind of circumstances between the two games? Like maybe Iowa State injuries vs A&M or A&M jnjuries vs Houston ? Nah, too much work. Even if teams was full strength in the games, it doesn't mean Houston beats Iowa State just because they beat a team and Iowa State didn't. How is it working out thus far tonight ?

That big ol target on your back houston has in the big 12 reminds of a certain SEC team in basketball. Who o who might that be?

Enjoy the ride Houston. You get to visit them all.

I like Kelvin Sampson and think he has done a great job at Houston and UH has been solid.

BUT they are going to find life in the Big 12 is a little bit harder than the American. They aren't going to have gaudy records anymore.
