I agree that it would have to fall to Stoops if their first 2-3 choices turn them down.
CMS is shopping or at least his agent is for him.

He would leave in a heartbeat for the right job, IMO. And, he is close enough to retirement, one good buyout would let him go happily into the sunset like his brother, Bob.

But the biggest reason for CMS to take the AU job, if offered, is the chance to get to the 12 team playoff and compete for a NC.

Which place do you think he has the better chance to do that, AU or UK.

Don't know, AU bought their championship before it was legal and Gus's team had the golden horseshoe stuck where the sun couldn't hit it, they should have lost 4 games that year.

It could, I think auburn can get sanders they have the money and alumni support, sanders can’t stay at Jackson state forever, eventually he will have to go up a level, auburn may not be the best start but it is a decent one

If NIL don’t get straight, he’ll take a job who supports NIL, under normal circumstances would not have, and ride it out. I think a school like Colorado would have a chance if NIL is there.

I agree … sadly, I think Stoops took us to our ceiling. We could reach an NY6 bowl but that’s about it … which could be in the playoffs under the new structure. Our fans aren’t happy with that though, we have some that believe we can compete for a title and I don’t think that’s possible other than perhaps getting to the table

Just angling for another raise. Sorry bud but you don't deserve it this year. I don't want to see him go but if he takes the Auburn job....good luck to him. He'll need it because he won't have Ohio and a patient backing.

That said, another spirited Auburn performance or two and there might not be an Auburn job. Going to be tons of social pressure to make Williams permanent.

Iowa is one to watch this off-season imo. Ferentz Jr is under major heat and Kirk might just retire. If that happens this year, I think stoops takes that job
