Watching us and watching NC and the direction the two programs are going in it blows my mind he picked UNC. It is obvious Pope is here for a long time and I think the heat on Hubert is going to ramp up especially if they don't make the tournament.
Aside from that, Marks offense is a great thing to watch.
I know NIL is the deciding factor for most kids today but that aside, Pope or Hubert ? come on. I'm not objective but the choice seems easy. His loss in my opinion.
That is the last time I will mention Wilsons name. Good luck to him. I love what we have and have no doubt we will do well in the portal.

In my opinion, he chose a softer schedule over a harder and physically tougher schedule. As Lewis’ dad put it, this program and league isn’t for Pu$$ies.

Shout out to Acaden, Jasper and Malachi for making a commitment to better themselves physically and mentally because this league and program is going to test you in ways UNC can’t.

I bet anything he doesn't give a shit what UNC does this year or next. He wants the big pay check, and he wants a place where he can showcase his talents for the NBA. What better way than a handout from UNC, a coach that will give him the ball cause he's desperate to keep his job, and a program that will get the viewership because it's UNC.

If anything, it's UNC that got fleeced here. He will do enough to win some games, but never make it past the 1st weekend of the tournament, and then dip out after a year. UNC will never get to tap into his potential, some NBA will (or another college program he transfer to). Hope $2mil is worth it.

I read he grew up a unc fan (?), and there were concerns on how Pope would play a freshmen. I take that to mean he wants to be guaranteed a starting spot and get big minutes. Unc probably promised that with a nice amount of $.

I would’ve loved to have landed him, but in the era of the portal and nil- I’m okay with it.
