Field of 68 SEC Tourney Predictions

Frankly I wouldn't want this short handed team to win the SECT this year. Would be a huge energy sapper.
Shit, I'd take winning the toughest SEC tournament any day. We'd of likely beaten multiple one and 2 seeds and it's been to damn long. 2018 was a long time ago and if we're playing good enough to win the SEC tournament, we may play good enough to make a final four.

This is UK-always go for every championship/trophy you can get. Understand your take and not saying you are wrong that they may lose something-but think they are assured they are playing Fri/Sun in NCAA's since they are a host site, so I'd like to think athletes are ready to play with 4 days off and a championship to bring back to Lexington.

I'd take the sec title. No guarantee if we lose Friday we make the ncaa final four. At least winning sec tourney would be winning something that matters.

For me that's sec regular season, sec tourney, ncaa final four and national title. Obviously the latter 2 are way more important but we haven't won anything that matters since 2020 sec regular season.

Of our three national championships in the modern SEC tournament era, we only won the SECT once. I see it as a really fun opportunity to increase our seed and the focus should be on preserving health. If we win the SECT, I’ll be pumped but it doesn’t truthfully matter that much if we don’t win it. Get to the S16 and the season was a massive success even if you lost in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals, at least in my mind.

I think Saturdays win over Mizzou locked up Milwaukee for Kentucky. And I agree go try to win the SEC Tourney and if you lose none of the loses are bad losses.

I don't disagree with those who have different takes--you have your right. I just don't see the point of ever playing anything and not wanting to win it. Those teams all had different outlooks too--'96 and '12 were on a quest and would've been considered lost seasons/failures if they didn't cut the nets down. Mark Pope is looking for his 1st NCAA win. Think success would not damage anything the following the week and especially with the strength of the Conference. As we saw in '96/'12 the SEC was better than many expected as Mississippi State was in the Final Four with UK and a UF team that UK beat 3 times lost in the Elite 8 in '12 or Cats would've had to play them again.

Win

Period.

Especially now. Win everything. Win every time we step onto the floor. We're Kentucky. This is March. Isn't this the goal ? Isn't now the time ? Screw saving any juice for anything else. Put it all on the line every game and give them all hell every moment until the final horn sounds. We've given enough blood sweat and tears this year and we should go out there swinging and win the damned SEC tournament trophy, just for the hell of it, because we CAN. Then let them talk about everyone else ... again.

This team is so far under the radar with the SEC and NCAA tournaments it is primed for a Kentucky run of epic, even biblical, proportions. Shock the world ? I actually like how the SEC bracket came out. So I won't be even surprised in this rollercoaster year. In fact, it even sounds about right after the way everything has gone down.

I'm sure they'll screw with us in the NCAA tournament setup though. To hell with it all this year. Just win from here on out.

I wouldn't mind that at all.

Go Big Blue !

I was going to write something similar, but I’m kinda tired! That’s how I feel.

Totally get the poster’s thoughts, and I can theoretically agree. But I hate watching us lose and would love to go in on a streak like 1998!
