Interesting exchange from last night's budget meeting. Watch from 43:40 of this video for about 10 minutes.
High-level summary:
* One board member shares a concern from a parent who chaired the budget committee that they were never able to obtain a copy of the full budget from last year.
* The superintendent says that the full budget is public and also that it is inefficient to provide the full budget to someone (?)
* Another board member repeats this contradictory statement and then states that transparency is being weaponized (!)
* The board chair then goes on to state how the board is to oversee the budget, but not oversee the budget at each school, and that as an educator it would be chilling to have his spending analyzed (!)
This tells you about everything you need to know. Transparency is not a core value of this board and, in fact, you are a bad and disingenuous person if you ask for it.
